Because Ash did not reject Dialga's ti energy, the wtwo resting in the Master Ball on his neck chose not to interfere.
Unlike the original storyline, this ti Dialga did not take Sheena along for the ti jump. Instead, it sent those closest to Ash—Dawn, Cynthia, Pikachu on Ash's shoulder, and Piplup in Dawn's arms.
Starlight sparkled all around.
The ti energy felt warm and comforting.
In the blink of an eye, Ash, Dawn, and Cynthia were enveloped in a radiant tunnel of space-ti.
Scenes flashed by in reverse—faster and faster—like a ti-lapse reel of history.
Until finally…
The scenery stopped retreating.
The trio found themselves standing in the ancient tribal era of Michina.
There were no tall buildings.
No Poké Balls.
People were dressed in primitive clothing—strange robes and woven garnts.
So even carried weapons in their hands.
"Was that… Dialga's ti-space jump?" Cynthia whispered, her hand lightly covering her mouth. Dawn nodded, equally stunned.
"Yeah," Ash replied. "This is the past—when Arceus was betrayed by Sheena's ancestors. They attacked Arceus and tried to keep the Jewel of Life instead of returning it.
If I'm right… tonight is the exact day Damos promised to give the Jewel back to Arceus."
"Pika…"
"Piplup…"
Pikachu and Piplup looked ahead.
Several chained Tauros were being dragged forward, their heavy restraints clanking loudly.
In the distance, Aggron and Tyrantrum were also shackled.
They were being driven like cattle by spear-wielding n.
"How can they treat Pokémon like that?!"
Dawn's voice trembled in disbelief.
How could humans be so cruel?
"It's just like the legends say," Cynthia said gravely. "Before Poké Balls were invented, people didn't know how to properly bond with Pokémon… so they used brute force to enslave them."
"Every era survives in its own way," Ash said calmly. "This is the tribal era. But we don't have much ti. Dialga likely couldn't sustain the ti travel for long."
Just then, the group's conversation was overheard by so nearby villagers.
Soon after, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed—thump thump thump!
Word of strange intruders reached the tribal chief.
Dozens of warriors ard with spears surrounded them.
Leading them was a sharp-featured man with a soft, sly expression.
"Capture those three imdiately!" he ordered coldly.
Several soldiers lunged toward Cynthia and Dawn.
BANG! BAM! THUD!
Before anyone could react—those warriors were sent flying several ters away!
Cynthia, who had been about to summon Garchomp, stood frozen in disbelief.
It was Ash.
He'd moved before anyone even blinked.
"tagross, your turn. Restrain them—but don't hurt anyone."
GENG-GENG!
tagross roared out, erging into the open.
After the Lily of the Valley Conference, Ash had stayed in Pallet Town for several weeks, training with his team.
tagross had reached Level 63, already well into the Elite Four tier.
Using its powerful psychic abilities, it effortlessly immobilized the warriors.
Ash now turned calmly to the man in charge.
"You're Marcus, aren't you? Take to Damos."
Ash snapped his fingers. tagross understood, wrapping Marcus in psychic energy and levitating him helplessly.
Marcus's expression changed. "W-what are you talking about?! Damos isn't even in the village! Release us, or—!"
Marcus had been hiding the truth: he'd secretly imprisoned Damos, the rightful tribal leader, and lied to the people, saying Damos was away on a journey.
But Ash wasn't wasting ti.
tagross easily extracted the location of Damos using telepathy and psychic scanning.
Once Ash explained the truth to Damos, the noble leader imdiately grasped the gravity of the situation.
Marcus? He was thrown into the sa cell he'd used to imprison Damos.
Damos took back his scepter containing the Jewel of Life, and warmly hosted Ash, Dawn, and Cynthia in gratitude.
As evening arrived…
The sun and moon aligned in the sky—a total solar eclipse.
The heavens began to ripple.
And from that distortion… Arceus descended.
The Creator had co to fulfill the ancient pact.
This ti, it successfully reclaid the Jewel of Life from Damos.
With clarity and righteousness, Damos explained everything. He even confessed that if not for Ash's intervention, both he and Arceus might've fallen victim to Marcus's sches.
Arceus turned to Ash, Dawn, and Cynthia—and nodded.
"You are like Damos," it said. "You are my friends."
Then, as if sensing the mission was complete, Dialga began preparing to send the trio back to their ti.
Only then did Damos notice the starlight specks glowing across Ash and the others.
He finally accepted—these three truly ca from the future.
But…
The ti transfer didn't happen.
Ash, Dawn, and Cynthia remained standing there.
"U-uh… Ash?" Dawn's voice trembled as she clutched his arm. "We… we're not stuck here, are we?"
Cynthia frowned. "I think… Dialga may have collapsed from exhaustion."
Her theory was correct.
Just as Dialga tried to summon its last burst of energy to pull them back—
BOOM!
Arceus's Judgnt attack struck it head-on.
Dialga had been weakened by everything. Now, it was down.
And this was a critical problem.
Ash and the others needed to return to their original ti. Only then would history truly begin to change.
Unless Arceus could see Ash again—in the present—it would not realize that the Jewel of Life had already been returned.
Only then… would the future begin to rewrite itself.
