While Ash was still reflecting on his mistakes, Red called Sabrina's father, who looked remorseful, and quietly led him away from the scene.

"Red, you can go ahead and bla ," Sabrina's father said, looking as though he were confessing his sins as he lowered his head in sincere apology.

"No, the reason I called you here is because I want you to help train Ash," Red requested sincerely.

"? Why?" he asked, confused. "Wouldn't it be better for you to train him yourself?"

"I'm planning to challenge the Fighting Dojo later, so it would be inconvenient. Besides, isn't it a Gym Leader's responsibility to train challengers?" Red said with a slight smile.

Saying he didn't have ti was definitely an excuse. Red was entrusting Ash's training to Sabrina's father for Ash's own well-being. If he were to train Ash himself constantly, it would not only hinder his brother's growth but also inevitably lead to a negative mindset. After all, every ti they trained, Ash was soundly defeated. Too much of that could give rise to frustration, a scene Red didn't want to see.

(Although, knowing my foolish younger brother, he probably wouldn't think that deeply about it,) Red mused. (But for the sake of finding a suitable way to be lazy… no, for Ash's healthy physical and ntal growth, this is definitely the right move.)

"Since you trust so much, Red, I won't let you down!" Sabrina's father promised.

After a brief farewell to Ash and the others, Red went alone to the Fighting Dojo, located not far from the Saffron Gym.

The Fighting Dojo was a battleground specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon. Although a trainer couldn't obtain an official badge after defeating the Karate Master, Kiyo, they could choose a powerful Fighting-type Pokémon as a prize, which was an excellent option in its own right. Thinking about it, Red realized he didn't have a pure Fighting-type specialist on his team, so he decided to take on the challenge.

"Hoo! Ha! Hoo!"

As soon as Red arrived, he heard the sharp sounds of training. Although it lacked the grandeur of an official League Gym, the Fighting Dojo still attracted many young people aspiring to master fighting techniques, including a few girls.

"Master, soone's here for a challenge!"

A young man in a white karate uniform and a headband, after hearing Red's intention, quickly ran to the back to inform Kiyo, who was training his disciples.

"Hmm? I didn't expect soone so young to seek a challenge. It seems I'll have to let you experience the strength of the Karate Master—Kiyo!"

The burly Kiyo walked forward, looking down at his young challenger. Red showed no sign of panic. He simply glanced at the master, then walked to the battleground, ready for a Pokémon battle.

"The Fighting Dojo challenge will now begin!" the referee announced. "The two participants are Karate Master Kiyo and Red from Pallet Town! Each side may use two Pokémon, with no ti limit! The match officially begins!"

"I'm counting on you, Hitmonlee!" Kiyo shouted, sending out his Pokémon first.

"Go, Pidgeot!"

As the white light dissipated, the Golden Pidgeot appeared majestically in the sky. Its dazzling golden feathers imdiately captured everyone's attention, and Kiyo observed Pidgeot's exceptionally well-developed physique with a serious expression.

"Oh no, a Flying-type Pokémon. As expected, those who co to challenge my Dojo are always prepared," Kiyo muttered. The Flying-type had a double advantage against his Fighting-type, which was the source of his current difficulty.

"You go first," Red said calmly, giving the first attack priority to Kiyo. After all, they were battling on his ho turf, and Red didn't want the master to lose too much face.

"Oh, you're quite an easygoing young man!" Kiyo laughed, imdiately understanding Red's gesture.

"Hitmonlee, use Double Kick!" Kiyo commanded.

"Wing Attack," Red said calmly.

Pidgeot's wings glowed with a white light as it rapidly approached. Hitmonlee, undeterred, used its proud legs to et the attack, fiercely competing with Pidgeot's strength.

"First, create so distance!"

Seeing that its raw power couldn't suppress Pidgeot, Kiyo had Hitmonlee back away, keeping a close eye on Pidgeot's next move.

"Aerial Ace!"

Pidgeot flapped its wings to increase its speed, moving with slick agility to get behind Hitmonlee and deliver a devastating blow.

"Hitmonlee, use ga Kick directly!" Kiyo commanded. Since it couldn't be avoided, he opted to face the attack head-on.

BANG—

A fierce explosion erupted, the shockwave pushing away everything around them. The force of the blast made many of the karate disciples stumble, but Red and Kiyo stood firm like mountains, completely unaffected.

"Your Pidgeot is incredibly strong," Kiyo said, his expression grim.

As the dust settled, Pidgeot remained effortlessly soaring in the sky. Hitmonlee, on the other hand, was panting heavily, clearly having expended a great deal of stamina in the clash.

"It's ti for the final showdown," Red kindly reminded him.

"Of course. Hitmonlee, use Lock-On!" Kiyo commanded.

"Pidgeot, use Brave Bird!"

"Hitmonlee, use High Jump Kick!"

Pidgeot let out an eagle cry that echoed through the dojo. A terrifying blue aura erupted around its body as it charged toward Hitmonlee with lightning speed. Hitmonlee, unwilling to be defeated, leaped up, using its knee to fiercely strike at the descending bird.

BOOM—

Both Pokémon used all their strength, trying to suppress the other. Kiyo watched with a tense expression, waiting for the final outco. Under the crowd's intense gaze, the standoff finally broke. Pidgeot, wreathed in blue energy, slamd Hitmonlee into the ground, creating a deep crater.

"This power… It seems your Hitmonlee has the Reckless ability," Red judged. As Pidgeot's trainer, he knew its strength; the battle shouldn't have taken this long unless Hitmonlee's High Jump Kick was empowered beyond normal limits.

"That's right. My Hitmonlee's ability is Reckless. I've turned the tide many tis with it, but I still lost to your Pidgeot. I am completely convinced by this loss," Kiyo said with a sigh, taking out a Poké Ball to recall the unconscious Hitmonlee.

"It's you, Hitmonchan!" Kiyo shouted, throwing out his last Poké Ball.

As a white light dissipated, a Hitmonchan wearing boxing gloves and what looked like a skirt-like piece of samurai armor appeared on the field.
