Faba had originally intended to invite Terrance to jointly research Ultra Wormholes. Now that Terrance had taken the initiative to propose cooperation, he was naturally delighted, though he still felt that sothing was a bit off.
"Granting a Pokémon totem aura isn’t a problem, I have all the equipnt here. But as for a Sparkling Stone... I don’t have one!" Faba adjusted his glasses, emphasizing his tone.
"How... how can you not have one?" Terrance coughed awkwardly.
"Sparkling Stones are rare to begin with. While the foundation might have a few in storage, if you want to use one, you have to submit an application and get approval from the president. Or... you can just go talk to her yourself." Not wanting to take responsibility, Faba imdiately pushed the issue back onto Terrance.
Go talk to Lusamine... Terrance glanced at Faba and then shook his head.
He had already applied through his own channels. Although there was no news about the Sparkling Stone yet, it should arrive soon. Better not owe another favor.
"Alright, I understand." Terrance nodded helplessly. He had thought he might be able to "borrow" a Sparkling Stone from Faba, but it seed that was impossible.
"I’ll prepare the Sparkling Stone myself. As for the other three stones, I’m not sure whether they’ll be of any help to you. You’ll have to analyze them on your own. If it’s urgent... they should be delivered here by tomorrow. Then we can discuss things in detail." Terrance continued.
He hadn’t been able to figure anything out from the "Magtonium fragnts" gifted to him by Team Rocket’s trio. Since they were just sitting around anyway, he might as well see if he could exchange them for so benefits from Faba.
"No problem. I’ll arrange accommodation for you first," Faba said. "By the way, should we inform President Lusamine and the others...?"
"If it’s not particularly necessary, there’s no need to disturb them. I’ll probably be going out to handle so matters over the next few days," Terrance replied.
"Alright then." Faba nodded. As an Aether Foundation executive, hosting a guest didn’t require reporting to the president.
...
...
The next day!
Early in the morning, after informing Faba, Terrance left the Aether Foundation.
He returned once again to Poni Island to search for Tapu Fini.
For Altaria to perfectly master Fairy Aura, it would require the help of the guardian deities of Alola’s four islands for a mysterious and special form of training.
The first day of special training would be arranged by Tapu Fini, the guardian deity of Poni Island.
Flying over Poni Island with Altaria, Terrance had no idea where to begin searching for Tapu Fini. In the end, he could only try having Altaria use Fairy Aura to sense its location.
"Where could it be..." Terrance stroked his chin. Although Poni Island wasn’t that large, finding a Pokémon wasn’t easy.
Fortunately, locating Tapu Fini wasn’t part of the training itself. When Terrance and Altaria flew over Vast Poni Canyon, a familiar figure suddenly flew toward them from the distance!
"Tapu Fini!" Terrance called out excitedly upon seeing it.
"Fi-ni~"
After flying up beside Terrance, Tapu Fini glanced at him and Altaria, nodded, and pointed in a certain direction.
"Do you an for us to go that way?" Terrance asked.
"Fi-ni~" Tapu Fini nodded again and took the lead in flying off.
"Alright... Altaria, let’s follow it."
Following behind Tapu Fini, Terrance and Altaria soon arrived above a town.
"This is Seafolk Village?" Terrance was slightly startled, not understanding why Tapu Fini had brought him here. However, after pausing briefly, Tapu Fini moved again, flying toward the more distant sea beyond Seafolk Village.
After flying for quite a while, Tapu Fini finally stopped and waved its arms, creating layers upon layers of dense mist. Imdiately afterward, wherever the mist spread, the seawater froze solid, forming a hard layer of ice.
"Looks like this is the training site." Terrance looked around. The Misty Terrain created by Tapu Fini was astonishing, almost covering an area the size of Fallarbor Town, perfectly forming a domain of thick mist. It appeared even more imposing than Gardevoir’s Misty Terrain.
Upon arriving at the training site, Terrance jumped down from Altaria and stood on the ice. Soon after, Tapu Fini moved again. This ti, it simply let out a long cry...
anwhile,
Beside the large tree in the center of Seafolk Village, a girl with long golden hair and gray eyes sat quietly on a stool, painting. Several canvases were arranged around her, and she was holding a brush, depicting a few Ribombee fluttering around the tree.
However, just as she was halfway through her painting, a sound too faint for humans to clearly hear suddenly rang out. The Ribombee acting as her models imdiately flew up together, looking toward the distance, and then... rapidly headed toward the sea!
"What happened?" The girl stood up in surprise after seeing the Ribombee fly away. This was the first ti she had encountered such a situation... Ribombee leaving in the middle of a painting session was far too unusual.
After several Ribombee flew off, one remained behind. This one was the girl’s Pokémon. Upon hearing the sound, it imdiately flew onto her head and began telling her what had happened.
"You an... they were summoned by Tapu Fini?" Mina put down her brush and looked toward the sea with so hesitation.
"Ribombee, you should go too. Tell later what exactly happened."
At that mont, from multiple directions across Poni Island, Cutiefly and Ribombee were being gathered, flying toward the sea area where Terrance was.
Fifteen minutes later, over a hundred Cutiefly and Ribombee had gathered on Terrance’s side. Seeing the leading Pokémon, Terrance subconsciously spoke: "Totem aura?"
The mysterious flowing aura, along with its larger size compared to the other Ribombee, clearly indicated its identity. Terrance glanced around, saw the many Cutiefly that had arrived, and then looked back at Tapu Fini, wanting to understand what the first stage of training was.
As Tapu Fini explained, Terrance’s expression kept changing, until he finally looked toward Altaria.
The purpose of Tapu Fini’s training was to temper Altaria’s fundantals, naly, its control over Fairy energy.
Altaria had been able to control Fairy energy ever since it first ga Evolved, but at that ti it could only control its own Fairy energy.
After obtaining Fairy Aura, Altaria gained the ability to control external Fairy energy as well. Now, the focus of the training was the latter.
However... the training thod was sowhat too harsh.
After confirming with Altaria, Terrance grinned, and at that mont, Tapu Fini manipulated the dense mist, coordinating with over a hundred Cutiefly and Ribombee using Fairy Wind to launch an attack on Altaria!
