Chapter 772: Trio’s New Mission

Cutiefly, the Bee Fly Pokémon, a Bug/Fairy type.

Cutiefly is a Pokémon with relatively large wings but an extrely tiny body. Its body is mainly yellow, while its face and tail are white. It has four very thin legs and a pair of big eyes. On those big eyes, Cutiefly even has square-shaped spots.

In addition, Cutiefly has two transparent feathers on its head that look very much like antennas, used to sense the surrounding aura. On its white wings, there are also brown ring patterns.

"So this is Cutiefly?"

On the way to Fallarbor Town, Troy had already heard Terrance ntion this species. Now, seeing one with his own eyes, he imdiately showed a delighted expression.

It really was much cuter than Beedrill.

Fortunately, Troy’s Beedrill didn’t know what he was thinking, or it would definitely be crying inside its Poké Ball.

When Terrance and the others entered, the Cutiefly imdiately sensed Terrance’s presence and flew over.

Among the group, Terrance was like a flower blooming in the grass, instantly drawing all the Cutiefly’s attention.

Possessing a Fairy Mark, Terrance had an innate affinity with Fairy-type Pokémon. Even though these Cutiefly had never t him before, that didn’t stop them from having a good impression of Terrance. They quickly flew over and circled around him, as if dancing for him.

With a faint smile, Terrance extended his hand, and one clever Cutiefly imdiately landed on his fingertip and gave his hand a gentle kiss.

Seeing Cutiefly’s adorable behavior, Terrance smiled and greeted them, then asked about their recent situation.

At that mont, Terrance used his special ability to establish Telepathy with Cutiefly.

After Terrance asked whether they were adjusting well to Hoenn, the small Cutiefly imdiately began chirping and discussing among themselves. Because of the Fairy Mark, everything they said was instantly conveyed to Terrance.

"It feels a bit dry where you live...?"

"And there aren’t enough flowers inside the Gym..."

When Terrance spoke, all the Cutiefly froze at once, their cute large eyes staring at him, blinking.

Seeing their surprised expressions, Terrance chuckled. "If you ever have any problems, you can always co tell . Don’t worry, after so ti, I’ll give you all a better place to live. There are many flower fields there. I’m sure you’ll love it."

In the wild, Cutiefly grows by gathering nectar and pollen. Naturally, places like flower fields were far more suitable for them than the rear garden of the Fallarbor Gym.

Hearing Terrance’s promise, the Cutiefly imdiately began to flutter about joyfully.

"Brother Terrance, you... you can understand what they’re saying?" Taiga asked in astonishnt after watching their exchange.

Troy beside him was equally shocked. After all, it made sense for a Trainer to understand the feelings of Pokémon they had raised for a long ti, but Terrance and these Cutiefly were eting for the first ti.

"To beco an excellent Trainer, you must understand your Pokémon’s feelings. This is just the basics," Terrance said with a light cough.

Hearing this, Taiga and Troy’s eyes imdiately sparkled as they engraved Terrance’s teaching into their hearts.

Looking at the group of Cutiefly, Terrance counted their number.

There were sixteen in total, all special Cutiefly who had inherited the move "Baton Pass".

It was precisely for this move, Baton Pass, that raising these Cutiefly had taken so long.

There were sixteen Cutiefly in total—not a lot, but not too few either. Raising them wasn’t difficult, but it still required a certain amount of ti.

"Right, Brother Terrance, yesterday these Cutiefly tried to fly out of the Gym, but they stopped almost imdiately. Ask them what happened," Taiga suggested, suddenly recalling the strange incident.

"They tried to fly out?" Terrance paused. Instead of asking Cutiefly right away, he began to deduce the reason.

"Compared to Pokémon native to Hoenn, Cutiefly’s special abilities are more similar to Ralts..."

"Perhaps they were drawn by fluctuations in the aura coming from outside."

Seeing Cutiefly nodding repeatedly, Terrance smiled. Sure enough, that was the case.

Cutiefly can sense the auras of humans, Pokémon, plants, and other living beings. They search for flowers using the color and brightness of aura to collect nectar and pollen. In academic circles, there is also a theory that when emotions within a living creature reach an intense extre, the aura produced is very similar to that of a flower blooming at full strength. Because of this, Cutiefly will approach people or Pokémon feeling great joy or great sorrow.

Their reaction was probably caused by that aura. After Terrance explained this to Taiga and Troy, the two imdiately nodded repeatedly.

"Well then, since I finally ca ho, let’s have everyone co out."

A mont later, Terrance pulled out the Poké Balls he carried and released Altaria and the others.

"Troy, let your Beedrill et the Gym’s Pokémon too."

"Okay." Hearing Terrance, Troy quickly released his Beedrill as well.

In the rear garden of the Fallarbor Gym, with the addition of Terrance’s Pokémon and Troy’s Beedrill, the place instantly beca lively.

anwhile, in the Kanto Region, at Team Rocket headquarters.

Giovanni’s expression darkened as he looked at the report his subordinates had collected. Using information about the unusual ice moon and Fairy Light, Team Rocket had even activated their undercover agents within the League. Very quickly, they had uncovered detailed information about the key individual who had disrupted the Prison Island operation.

"So it was that kid."

Back when the totem aura first appeared, Team Rocket had already noticed Terrance. But because they were at a critical stage in the developnt of wtwo at the ti, they hadn’t paid him much further attention.

Now that Terrance had once again entered Giovanni’s view, Giovanni only had to think for a mont before speaking: "So he’s Victor’s apprentice, the Gym Leader. Hmph, no wonder he got involved."

Giovanni’s secretary, Matori, was startled. "Then, Boss Giovanni, should we...?"

"No need." Giovanni shook his head, then his eyes flickered: "With the ability he showed on Prison Island, the League has surely taken notice of him already. For a Trainer like that, the League definitely won’t be satisfied letting him remain just a Gym Leader."

"What do you an?"

"Gym Leaders like Cinnabar Island’s Blaine, Mahogany Town’s Pryce, Petalburg City’s Norman, Sootopolis City’s Juan, Opelucid City’s Drayden, Anistar City’s Olympia, and so on, all have deep ties with the League because of their outstanding individual strength. Even though they aren’t serving as Elite Four, they are essentially only missing the title. Terrance may not yet have the influence those people hold, but the potential he has demonstrated undoubtedly makes him worth the League’s effort to recruit," said Giovanni.

"With the recent Prison Island incident, Team Rocket cannot afford to draw too much attention. Otherwise our partners will be troubled. So this Terrance, I want to make contact with him first, then decide what to do."

"Make contact? Are you planning to recruit him?" Matori exclaid.

"No, not everyone needs to be used by Team Rocket, and not everyone has to beco an enemy," Giovanni said, tapping the armrest of his chair with his finger.

Matori seed to understand. "Then how do we make contact?"

"Hmm, let

think... Right, I rember Jas, Jessie, and owth aren’t on any missions right now. Then we’ll let those three handle this for the ti being," Giovanni said after so thought.

"Those three??" Matori asked in confusion.

She had a very poor impression of Jas, Jessie, and owth!!
