Chapter 571: Elite Four Level Top-tier Technique
At this mont, the light breeze surrounding Beautifly was not truly a light breeze.
Rather, it was the manifestation of Beautifly’s extre speed after using Quiver Dance. By going all out and utilizing the move "Bug Buzz," it rapidly flaps its wings to overlap air currents together at extre speed.
Unlike controlling Silver Wind, the air currents Beautifly was now manipulating was a product of compressing "wind" to its utmost limit. Though it appeared simple and unremarkable on the surface, the pressure within was terrifyingly intense.
A technique approaching laws—this was a technique that transcended the level typically labeled as "peak."
Even for soone highly gifted, mastering such a technique would be nearly impossible without years of practice.
However, after repeatedly performing Extre Quiver Dance, Beautifly pushed its state and physique to their maximum and was able to touch upon it—if only just barely.
In this state, Beautifly’s sensitivity to wind had already reached an extraordinary level. It wasn’t just about controlling air currents anymore—it could also sense them.
It was as if it could detect the aura and changes in movents of living and non-living things in its surroundings. A technique used to foresee and avoid danger—sothing Beautifly could already do to so extent in the past—but now it could perform it with ease.
This was the product of Beautifly’s four months of continuous training with that Totem Pokémon—a culmination of its techniques.
It could also be called the "Power of Perception." As long as Beautifly remained in contact with the wind, it could use changes in the air currents to detect everything around it. Through those changes, it could predict the opponent’s next move and position. As Beautifly beca more proficient, it could even expand its range of perception.
By controlling "strong winds" through "extre vibration," Beautifly no longer relied on its brain to react. Instead, each part of its body responded automatically through conditioned reflexes, acting and making judgnts without requiring commands from the brain. This drastically accelerated both reaction and movent speed.
Of course, such a technique—where the body instinctively perceives and anticipates environntal changes without conscious thought—put a trendous burden on the body.
"Amazing," Wallace exclaid in admiration. This technique could truly be called a top-tier technique. If Beautifly could fully master it, then calling Terrance a half-step away from a Top Trainer wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Top Trainer—that was a title usually reserved for mbers of a region’s Elite Four.
"Although it is relying on Quiver Dance, a Pokémon like Beautifly..." The Elite Four Leo was shocked.
He hadn’t expected to encounter a Trainer of this caliber in the very first event. Until now, he’d assud Wallace was his only real opponent.
At this mont, Vivian was so overwheld with excitent that she couldn’t even express it. Even her excellent announcer training couldn’t stop her from stamring briefly—because what Beautifly did next was just too stunning!!
"It’s Quiver Dance!!" Vivian shouted.
"Earlier, Beautifly perford multiple Quiver Dance, and now it’s unleashing that power all at once!"
"What’s even more unbelievable is that Beautifly can actually control this power!"
From the starting point up until now, countless Flying-type Pokémon had used enhancent-type moves—but they had all stopped just short of going too far!
Because they knew that, even if they gained powerful strength or elevated stats for a short ti, they still wouldn’t be able to control that power.
It’s like a baby who just learned how to walk suddenly gaining the speed of a sports car—how could they possibly control it?
That’s why, even when using enhancent-type moves, most Pokémon acted cautiously. After all, they were constantly facing beam attacks from all directions—if their bodies lost even slight control, it could easily backfire and result in them being taken down by those beams.
Countless participants stared wide-eyed at Beautifly’s current movents. They were certain—this was the result of completely unleashing all of its accumulated power. But what they couldn’t comprehend was: how could a Pokémon like Beautifly control such imnse strength?
"In the end, it all cos down to technique," said Leo, unable to hold back his admiration for this Beautifly. Failing to control power and speed beyond one’s limits ultimately stems from not being able to control this suddenly appearing external power. But if a Pokémon possesses exceptional techniques and excellent coordination ability, then when it cos into contact with greater power, it can control it more easily than its counterparts.
"It’s not that the potential from Quiver Dance allowed it to master this top-tier technique, nor is it that its superior technique allowed it to control the powerful strength brought on by Quiver Dance. It’s that it found that one perfect point of harmony between technique and power—fusing them together—reaching a ’near-perfect’ state."
After watching for a mont, Wallace began to smile. He had heard Raoul Contesta praise Terrance many tis before, but even though Raoul had judged countless Pokémon Contests and had a wealth of experience, he was ultimately not a Top Coordinator himself. The previous Terrance was certainly outstanding, but had never managed to make Wallace take him seriously—because Wallace had never seen a level of talent from Terrance that threatened his own.
But now, seeing Beautifly’s current performance, Wallace had to admit that Terrance possessed coordination and control ability that went far beyond the title of "Top Coordinator."
In other words, in terms of pure flying techniques alone, Beautifly had already set one foot into the domain of a Top Trainer.
Few people were able to recognize this—but the handful who did all broke into applause for Beautifly’s incredible display.
Since ancient tis, for a Pokémon like Beautifly to reach this kind of level purely through technique... it is exceedingly rare.
"This guy..." Albus was slightly taken aback, suddenly recalling what Terrance had said to him back at the café: "If you’re still treating
like the person I was six months ago... you’re going to lose badly."
The smug expression Terrance wore when saying those words surfaced in Albus’s mind, and he couldn’t help but feel a wave of frustration. "You little brat... so you really have improved this much. What a miscalculation."
Albus didn’t have many Pokémon, and the types he worked with were even fewer. He wanted to try participating in as many events as possible. Even though he knew he had weaknesses in certain areas, he still had high hopes of winning. After all—he wasn’t weak, was he?
But after seeing Beautifly’s performance, Albus nearly cried—he realized he was about to get completely dominated.
And he wasn’t the only one. The two people from the Flying-type Gym were also visibly shaken after witnessing Beautifly’s astonishing display of technique. Their Gym specialized in Flying-types, and both they and their teachers and seniors were experts in the field. How could they possibly fail to recognize how terrifying this level of technique was?
"This is Terrance’s Beautifly?!" Winona couldn’t connect the Beautifly before her with Terrance who had once challenged Fortree Gym.
At this mont, all three announcers simultaneously stopped comntating on the other Pokémon. Even the various large screens, without coordination, all turned their caras to focus on Beautifly.
Terrance’s information... once again, due to the shift in cara focus, the light reflected from the sticker on Beautifly appeared on the screen.
Coordinator, Terrance.
