“Ultra Beast, huh.”
While the Aether Foundation was engaged in a fierce battle with the white Ultra Beast, Terrance hid in a corner, clicking his tongue in amazent.
This hulking creature clearly wasn’t anything ordinary just by its appearance, and its strength was terrifyingly unreasonable.
The Trainers dispatched by the Aether Foundation were all highly skilled, yet even so, they could only hold their ground against this Ultra Beast by surrounding and attacking it together. One could imagine how powerful this creature truly was.
“If Ultra Beasts are considered Pokémon…”
“Then this Ultra Beast’s type… is most likely Steel and Fire.”
Terrance made this judgnt based on the heatwaves emitted by the Ultra Beast and its appearance, though he knew this kind of assessnt wasn’t entirely reliable.
“If it’s a Steel Type, that’s a problem.”
Terrance’s Altaria was currently his most powerful partner, but its moves were naturally at a disadvantage against Steel-types.
Judging by the battle unfolding before his eyes, if Terrance’s Altaria faced off against this massive Ultra Beast alone, it would absolutely be at a disadvantage.
Unless… ga Evolution!
“What would happen…” Terrance looked tense. If possible, he really hoped to have a fight with this Ultra Beast that had erged from the Ultra Wormhole.
Over the past few days, while observing the situation in this area, he had made further progress in his research on the totem aura.
This progress was triggered by the sudden appearance of the Ultra Wormhole, and based on the premise that Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma were Ultra Beasts.
Solgaleo had been revered as the emissary of the sun since ancient tis. The ancients, filled with reverence, called it the “the beast That devours the sun.” Its body harbored imnse energy, releasing radiant light as it ran, its figure resplendent like the sun. Terrance had read about the scenes of Solgaleo running described in ancient texts.
As for Lunala, it too had been worshipped since ancient tis as the emissary of the moon. The ancients, also in reverence, called it the “the beast that calls the moon.” Its outstretched wings would absorb the surrounding light and emit a glow akin to a crescent moon, its form resembling a magnificent night sky.
These were all records from ancient texts. Terrance had read these descriptions countless tis, and at last, he discovered sothing very intriguing — whether it was the “Beast That Devours the Sun” or the “Beast That Calls the Moon,” in the eyes of the ancients, they both seed closely connected with “light,” creating an extrely mysterious and mythological reputation.
Light…
During this ti, Terrance, holding a bold idea, once again approached Totem Kommo-o and tried to get close to it. The result left Terrance utterly shocked.
The dispersion prism he carried was actually able to separate the aura surrounding the Totem and break it down into various colors of light!
The dispersion prism didn’t plunder the aura to separate it—instead, it allowed Terrance to visually observe it directly with his own eyes.
This discovery nearly made Terrance want to capture Totem Kommo-o and take it ho for in-depth research.
“Whether it’s Solgaleo or Lunala, the records all associate them with light. That being the case, it seems their identity as Ultra Beasts is pretty much confird.”
“As long as I can once again verify that the aura of the Ultra Beasts is also essentially composed of ‘strangely colored light,’ then this research will have made a near-breakthrough.”
“Was the real issue that battle between the three Ultra Beasts and the guardian deities when they descended into this world?”
Just as Terrance was contemplating how to steal this Ultra Beast from the Aether Foundation, an unexpected change occurred—the mysterious Ultra Beast, which had already taken down several Pokémon in a sweeping strike, suddenly used the heatwaves spraying from its arms as propulsion, shooting into the air and beginning to fly rapidly toward a distant location.
This action left everyone from the Aether Foundation montarily stunned before they all scrambled into motion.
“Stop it!” Faba shouted urgently.
“Branch Chief, all our Flying-type Pokémon are injured!”
“Useless! That Ultra Beast is badly injured too—we can’t let it escape! Think of sothing!”
“That direction is… lele Island?” Terrance was startled. After confirming the direction the mysterious beast was heading, he quickly summoned Altaria and gave chase.
Terrance could also see that this Ultra Beast had sustained quite serious injuries—it was clearly struggling under the siege from the Aether Foundation.
Even so, it was still able to cripple the flying abilities of Aether Foundation’s Flying-type Pokémon and managed its escape. It had to be said—this Ultra Beast was likely one or two levels stronger than Totem Kommo-o.
“So fast.” In the middle of the chase, Terrance’s pupils contracted. He couldn’t fathom how this Pokémon could fly at such an incredible speed.
It was as if its arms stored an imnse amount of energy, allowing it to soar high into the sky in an instant, crossing the entire Poni Island and reaching the sea beyond.
“This won’t do.” Terrance glanced around—at this altitude and in this area, no one should be able to see, right?
This Ultra Beast was seriously injured—now was the best opportunity.
“Altaria, respond to my heart—ga Evolution!!”
Up in the sky, Terrance, riding on Altaria’s back, raised his bracelet high.
“Alt~aria~~~~~~!” A clear, high-pitched cry rang out, as violent gusts of energy surged around the ga Altaria, pressing down heavily in all directions. Even the surrounding clouds rippled like waves.
With ga Evolution complete, Altaria underwent a dramatic transformation in all aspects—its speed increased drastically, instantly closing the gap with the Ultra Beast.
“I rember there’s an uninhabited island up ahead. Stop it—we can’t let it reach lele Island,” Terrance said.
“Use Disarming Voice.”
In the next instant, Terrance’s bracelet glowed once again. This bracelet had been enhanced by Tapu Koko, and it possessed the ability to amplify Altaria’s Fairy-type moves.
Terrance preferred to call this boosted move a “Mini Z-Move.”
Invisible soundwaves shot forward at high speed, sweeping across and piercing straight through the Ultra Beast’s body.
With a resonant “buzz,” Terrance seed to hear a piercing tallic sound. The echoing vibration sent a chill through his heart.
“It’s losing consciousness,” Terrance assessed.
What ga Altaria had unleashed wasn’t just an ordinary Disarming Voice—it also incorporated the hypnotic effect of the move “Sing.”
Already weakened from the previous intense battle, the Ultra Beast now had no power left to resist this full-force “mini Z-Move” from ga Altaria, especially when combined with Hypnosis. It no longer had the strength to remain airborne.
As the heatwaves died out, the Ultra Beast began to stagger and plumt toward the uninhabited island—just the one Terrance had precisely calculated for.
“ga Altaria, accelerate!”
Terrance needed to reach the Ultra Beast before the Aether Foundation could. He could sense that this Ultra Beast was also radiating a mysterious aura—one that strongly resembled Ultra Aura described in the records Master Victor had given him, which is said to appear on Ultra Beasts when they first arrive in this world!
