Chapter 458 - Multitasking

"Huh? That's strange..."

Two hours later, Terrance had slowly started to grasp the basics of the ditation thod.

Spending this much ti, Terrance initially thought sothing was wrong. But after persisting for a little while longer, he suddenly froze.

"This feeling is..."

Even though a surge of warmth rushed into his head, his mind felt an unexpected coolness, making Terrance shiver for a mont. However, he quickly adapted to the sensation.

It felt amazing.

Aside from the initial stimulating jolt, the sensation gradually subsided. Yet, Terrance could still clearly feel the sense of relaxation in his mind.

When was the last ti he felt sothing like this?

Ah, right—after finishing an entire set of "5-year College Entrance Examination 3-year Simulation" and then imdiately jumping into a gaming session. It felt incredible.

"So relaxing, is this what it feels like to ditate? If that's the case... then staying in this state all the ti wouldn't be bad at all!"

Terrance let his thoughts drift freely, all sorts of ideas erging as he enjoyed this state. But then—boom—a sudden realization struck him, making him freeze again.

"The notes on ditation thod specifically ntion that one must never let their thoughts wander during ditation. Absolute focus is required in order to maintain the ditative state... But just now, too many random thoughts popped into my head, so why was I still able to maintain my ditative state?!"

Terrance was stunned. His ditative state only disappeared when his breathing beca erratic.

He picked up the ditation thod and read through it several more tis. He was almost certain—letting one's mind wander during ditation was a serious taboo. Yet, as long as his breathing remained steady, his ditative state hadn't collapsed despite his thoughts drifting elsewhere!

"What's going on here?" Terrance was completely baffled.

Could the notes on the ditation thod be incorrect? That seed highly unlikely...

"Or... am I gifted?!"

As this thought crossed his mind, Terrance shalessly chuckled to himself—then quickly found himself at a loss.

Unwilling to accept it as a fluke, he experinted it several more tis. Eventually, Terrance confird it—he could engage in other activities while ditating.

As long as he maintained a steady breathing rhythm, avoided getting overly excited or tense, and avoided intense physical movents, he could remain in a ditative state at all tis!

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven..."

"Ah-woo-a-ee-oo-yuu..."

Terrance then tried speaking while ditating. Sure enough, speaking disrupted his breathing and broke his ditative state.

After roughly another hour of experints, Terrance arrived at a conclusion.

He could multitask while ditating!!

Without needing full ntal focus, he could still ditate and refine his ntal strength!

"Why is this happening? Could it be because I transmigrated... and my body is sohow different from normal people?!"

Terrance originally wanted to use the communication thod that Master Victor had given him to ask so questions. However, after thinking it over, he gave up on the idea and decided to explore on his own first.

So far, ditation hasn't brought him any negative effects. On the contrary, it led him to discover an unexpected talent for ditation. Terrance felt as if he had stumbled upon a new continent, continuously experinting.

His focus was mainly on speaking.

Terrance wanted to find a way to speak without disrupting his breathing rhythm. "This state is already amazing. If I can recite things or learn knowledge while ditating, it could double my efficiency. After all, the clarity and comfort in mind during the ditative state isn't just an illusion."

"If I can also speak, then I'll be able to observe battle situations, analyze them, and issue commands to my Pokémon while maintaining this highly lucid, active ntal state. That would reduce my chances of making mistakes while helping

find the most optimal attack opportunities..."

These kinds of abilities were largely innate. So people were naturally more intelligent, while others had an easier ti focusing. While these traits could be trained, finding the right thod was difficult, and the process was extrely challenging. That's why, when Terrance realized he could enhance this aspect of himself through ditation, he felt like he had just won the lottery.

"No wonder... No wonder that, even though learning breeding knowledge felt difficult and obscure when I was younger, I was still able to persist without encountering too many major obstacles. Thinking about it now, while my mature mindset from my past life helped

understand things more easily, my abnormal ntal strength must have also played a supporting role!"

Multitasking!

But only while ditating. When Terrance tried writing with both hands at the sa ti, he once again confird his limits.

However, this was already more than enough. With this ability, he could accomplish many things and free up a lot more ti for himself, "Let's keep practicing!"

...

...

Without realizing it, Terrance had been imrsed in the ditative state for an unknown amount of ti.

He kept switching between practicing speaking while ditating and trying to read while ditating. He was having a great ti until Ayan called him for dinner, finally snapping him out of it.

"Dinner's ready?"

Terrance was surprised. Making dinner had originally been his responsibility during this ti... but it seed he had been too engrossed in ditation and lost track of ti. Ayan and the others must have decided not to call him for help.

"Yeah, we're just waiting for you," Ayan said.

"Alright, I'm coming."

During dinner, Terrance remained distracted, attempting to ditate while eating. The result? He ended up choking on his food, earning him a round of teasing from everyone.

"..." Terrance.

"What's up with you? It feels like sothing about you has changed!"

Albus looked at Terrance with curiosity. He had noticed a subtle shift in Terrance's Aura!

"Did it? Must be your imagination," Terrance replied.

"Alright, alright, if you say so." Albus shrugged.

Terrance smiled.

For now, he decided to keep this secret to himself. At the sa ti, another thought crossed his mind—he wanted to attempt ga Evolution again!

What would happen if he tried ga Evolution while ditating?

Would anything change?!

"Psychic power, when strong enough, can even help Pokémon evolve... Although what I have is rely the most rudintary form of psychic power, barely worth ntioning, it seems like my unique trait has brought about so unusual changes. It's worth a try!"

Terrance quickly finished his al.

Tonight, he planned to experint with the ditation thod again, testing all the notes recorded in the book.

Even though he didn't feel like his ntal strength had substantially improved yet, the imdiate benefits he had already discovered made him realize just how important the ditation thod was for him!

The next day, Kotoko ca over, planning to watch today's Gym Battles. At the sa ti, this would also be the first ti Terrance intended to test the ditative state in battle.

"Another rookie Trainer as my opponent, huh? Looks like Fallarbor Gym is quite popular among rookies..."

Terrance thought back for a mont before quickly making a decision. "Speaking of which, Kotoko also has a Beedrill. In that case... I'll send out Beedrill and Ariados for this match!"
