Four months later.

Fallarbor Town.

Kotoko, as usual, was tending to the farm alongside her Vileplu. After finishing her work, she walked into town, her gaze briefly passing over a building with a red-topped roof.

Besides the Pokémon Center in front of her, Fallarbor Town now had a chain store, a police station and…

A Gym!

“Four months have passed…”

Kotoko felt the changes in Fallarbor Town and thought of Terrance on Mt. Chimney. Over the past four months, he had only occasionally returned to Fallarbor Town, seemingly always doing special training on Mt. Chimney.

“Is that the reason behind his impressive strength?”

As she passed by the Pokémon Contest Hall, Kotoko encountered a familiar-looking person.

The two stared at each other but couldn’t recall who the other was.

Finally, the young man gave a faint smile and walked past her.

Chisana, heading toward the Old Green House, muttered to himself, “I haven’t been back in so long. Fallarbor Town has really changed a lot.”

If it weren’t for Terrance contacting him about the upcoming Gym opening, Chisana might still be participating in Pokémon Contests.

If he had waited to return after earning the title of Top Coordinator, he’d probably get lost wandering around the transford Fallarbor Town.

“I’ve been seeing so many unfamiliar faces since I got here…”

When Chisana arrived in front of the Old Green House, he was stunned once again by what he saw.

The Old Green House had undergone a complete transformation. Torn down and rebuilt, a massive, brand-new structure now stood before him, leaving Chisana gaping.

“This… is this still the Old Green House?! It’s so huge!”

Gym!

The Old Green House was now blocked by the enormous Gym building. Staring at the sign that read Fallarbor Gym, Chisana was shocked. Just then, he heard a commotion coming from inside.

Rushing into the Gym, Chisana imdiately spotted Ayan and Scarlet. Although it had been a while since he last saw them, they hadn’t changed much. However, what surprised him was that the usually easygoing duo seed unusually upset, arguing fiercely with a Trainer about sothing.

“Get Terrance out here to battle ! My ti is precious!”

“I’ve already told you, if you want a battle, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow when the Gym officially opens. We have no obligation to accept your challenge now,” Ayan said with a furrowed brow.

“I’m not here to challenge the Gym. I want to challenge Terrance! Hurry up, he’s here, isn’t he?!”

The Trainer looked impatient and said, “It’s just a battle. Is Terrance scared? Didn’t he claim that anyone could co to Fallarbor Town and challenge him?”

“You—!” Ayan was about to kick him out.

“Forget it. Don’t act impulsively,” Scarlet stopped Ayan and addressed the Trainer. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, but Terrance isn’t here right now. If you want to challenge him, co back tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow? I’ve already spent a whole day looking for him in Fallarbor Town, and now you want

to wait another day?”

Glaring at the two of them, the Trainer added, “Is this even considered a Gym? I’ve never heard of it. You must know Terrance, right? Since he won’t co out and face , I’ll just challenge your Gym instead.”

“Our Gym officially opens tomorrow. Any Gym Badge issued now wouldn’t have legal standing, so we can’t accept your challenge,” Ayan explained, trying to remain calm.

“Ayan, look, Chisana is back,” Scarlet suddenly shouted, spotting Chisana by the door. At this mont, Chisana walked over.

“I heard everything. You must be the person who ca here to challenge Terrance after learning about this place online, right?” Chisana nodded toward Ayan and Scarlet before turning to the Trainer.

“That’s right,” the Trainer nodded.

“Then there’s a problem. I rember the online announcent was clear about the ti. Official challenges won’t be accepted until the day after tomorrow,” Chisana said calmly, as if waiting for the Trainer to explain why he was kicking up a fuss.

The Trainer froze for a mont, then snorted, “What difference does the ti make?”

“In that case, why don’t one of you battle ? It’ll help

pass the ti until the day after tomorrow,” the Trainer said, glaring at Chisana.

The three from the Old Green House were visibly angry. This person was incredibly rude and unreasonable.

Ayan, already fuming inside, held Scarlet back and said: “Leave it to . We can’t use Brother Terrance’s Pokémon; it would be embarrassing if we lost. I’ll use Machop.”

Chisana said, “Let

take care of it. My Zubat has evolved into a Golbat now.”

“Don’t worry. Machop has been following a detailed training plan and is quite strong now,” Ayan gave Chisana a reassuring look. Terrance had also guided him on how to raise a Machop.

“Hurry up, hurry up. You can take turns battling

if you like. Anyway, you are all going to get crushed.” The Trainer shook his head.

“Alright, you just got back, so let

do it.” Ayan persuaded Chisana, then turned to the other person and said, “Let’s head to the arena.”

With an air of arrogance, the Trainer followed Ayan, and the four made their way to the battle arena inside Fallarbor Gym.

“The battle will be one-on-one. My Pokémon is Blaziken. You can send out whatever Pokémon you want,” the Trainer declared as he reached the arena. He then tossed out a Poké Ball.

Blaziken……

Scarlet and Chisana worriedly looked at Ayan. Blaziken’s sharp claws wrapped in bandages and its powerful legs don’t look easy to deal with. Could Machop really do it?…..

“Go, Machop!” Ayan took a deep breath and threw out his Poké Ball.

The gray-bodied Machop appeared, much smaller in stature compared to the Blaziken. Its appearance made the Trainer pause for a mont before laughing. “I’ve already sent out my Pokémon, and you sent out sothing like Machop? Don’t bla

if you lose badly.”

Chisana watched the arena with growing anxiety. This Trainer had co specifically to challenge Terrance, intending to defeat the trainer praised by Master Phoebe to make a na for himself. Soone like that must be very confident in their strength.

It wasn’t just Ayan—Chisana himself wasn’t sure he could handle such a battle.

If it were a Pokémon Contest, Chisana might have so confidence, but seeing Blaziken’s sturdy body only heightened his concerns for Machop.

anwhile…

A dust-covered figure erged from Fallarbor Woods, stepping into Fallarbor Town and glancing up at the glaring sunlight.

“Tomorrow’s the day the League officially announces the Gym’s legalization, right?”

“I shouldn’t be mistaken… And the day after tomorrow, I’ll have to face those challengers. I should head back and prepare today.”

Terrance touched the six Poké Balls on his belt and smiled. Over the past four months, he’d barely had any battles, but soon, there would be many battles awaiting him.

“I hope the opponents can provide so real combat experience for my Pokémon, which have grown so much stronger. They need to adapt to their new states.”
