Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

At the sa ti, Shen Wan had already boarded the flight to the Bei Hai.

“Excuse , may 1 have a blanket?”

“I want one too!” Zhou Chi raised his hand.

“Of course, please wait a mont.”

Shen Wan let out a yawn; she hadn’t slept well last night, busy organizing docunts.

After the blankets arrived, she reclined her seat and began to catch up on so sleep. Zhou Chi put on his headphones and started watching an old movie.

Soti during the flight, Shen Wan woke up briefly. She noticed the movie was only halfway through. Shen Wan felt refreshed after her nap.

“Aren’t you going to sleep a bit longer?” Zhou Chi removed his headphones. “We still have an hour before we land.”

“I’m awake,” she replied, lowering her head and taking out a band-aid from her bag. She handed it to him. “Do you want to put it on yourself or should I do it?”

Zhou Chi pursed his lips but inadvertently tugged at his wound, causing a sharp pain that made him gasp. “I told you it’s nothing. Why bother with the plaster?”

Ignoring his protests, Shen Wan removed the packaging and said, “Give your face.”

Zhou Chi remained still. “It’s just a minor cut, no need for a bandage.”

“Don’t make repeat myself.”

Zhou Chi kept quiet.

The standoff lasted for three seconds, and Zhou Chi eventually gave in, resignedly bringing his face closer. He mumbled, “This bandage looks ugly when applied…”

“You can always try not to get injured.”

Zhou Chi cleared his throat, choosing not to press further.

Now, let’s revisit the events of last night. Shen Wan went to Qingtong Street to look for him. She knocked on his door, but there was no response. His phone was also out of reach. With no alternative, she took a seat on the staircase and waited. During this wait, she ca across Zhou Chi, who was being assaulted by a gang of thugs.

Shen Wan wasn’t adept at fighting, but she had money. She pulled out a wad of red bills from her bag and dropped them in front of a few holess n who were sound asleep on the street. Naturally, they rushed to help Zhou Chi.

Later, a few beggars joined in. In less than a quarter of an hour, they drove away the gang of thugs. However, it seed that the holess and beggars were not entirely satisfied. After splitting the money, they stared intently at the bag in Shen Wan’s hand, ready to pounce and snatch it at any mont.

It was a situation that could turn hostile at any ti.

“Thank you all for your help,” Shen Wan said with a light smile, checking her wristwatch. “The police will be here in two minutes. I’ll need your cooperation for the record when they arrive.”

The group exchanged glances and quickly dispersed.

Zhou Chi, feeling utterly drained, leaned against the wall, observed the spectacle, and eventually broke into a smile. “You’re quite convincing; just watch out not to end up on the receiving end of a beating.”

Shen Wan, stepping gracefully in her nude high heels, approached him, and her skirt gently fluttered in the night breeze. Her legs, exposed and fair, were straight and alluring. “You still have the nerve to crack jokes. Seems like you won’t die anyti soon.”

“Hey! Do you have to talk to like that?”

“Get up if you’re not going to die.”

Zhou Chi didn’t move, and Shen Wan nudged him with her foot.

“Be gentle! I don’t have the strength to get up right now.”

In the end, Shen Wan helped him up the stairs.

Once they entered the house, she deposited him unceremoniously on the sofa. Shen Wan stood with her arms crossed, and her towering gaze conveyed an obvious fierceness. “Tell , what happened?”

Zhou Chi’s gaze flickered. “What happened?”

“Why did you get beaten up?”

“It was just a minor altercation…”

“What kind of altercation?”

Zhou Chi pursed his lips; did she really have to dig this deep?

“And…” Shen Wan adjusted the collar of his white dress shirt. “Why am I not aware that you have embraced the life of a stylish, fresh-faced young man?”

Zhou Chi was used to dressing casually, often going for a hoodie and layering up when the weather turned cold. Dress shirts like the one he had on at the mont were a rare sight in his wardrobe. Plus, it was a white dress shirt, notorious for being neither stain-resistant nor easy to keep pristine.

“You won’t say anything?”

Zhou Chi remained silent.

Shen Wan’s expression suddenly darkened. “Fine, if you want to be tough, handle it yourself from now on.. Don’t co looking for !”
