Serena looked at Mr. Lloyd’s serious expression.
From Mr. Lloyd’s eyes, it was evident that he indeed knew sothing, but wouldn’t tell her.
For sothing to make Mr. Lloyd hesitant and extrely cautious, it must be related to soone or so power that is not ordinary.
But...
Serena lowered her eyes slightly.
The deceased was her father.
Since her father’s death, her ho was gone.
Her relationship with her mother remained awkward to this day.
How could she not investigate?
How could she pretend nothing happened and live like an ostrich with its head in the sand?
She couldn’t do it.
However, she didn’t want to argue with Mr. Lloyd either.
So she changed the topic.
Serena looked up, smiling at Mr. Lloyd.
She put down the glass of water in her hand and picked up an orange by her side to peel it.
She said, "Grandpa Lloyd, right now I just want to clarify the issue with Aether."
Mr. Lloyd looked at Serena peeling the orange in front of him.
He understood Serena’s thoughts; she would definitely investigate further.
Mr. Lloyd shook his head helplessly.
But he also understood in his heart.
This was his daughter.
She had the sa temperant as him.
Upon thinking, he felt relieved.
"Aether has problems," Mr. Lloyd said, "I’m not sure what exactly, but the ssage received was that they originally didn’t plan to release the latest technology so soon, but they suddenly changed their minds."
"The specifics require a long-term investigation."
"Based on risk assessnt, it’s currently unsuitable to invest."
Serena nodded, this matched her thoughts.
Serena split open the peeled orange, tasted a piece herself, found it sweet, and then offered it to Mr. Lloyd.
"Not sour," she said with a smile, "Thank you, Grandpa Lloyd."
Mr. Lloyd preferred sweet over sour.
This was sothing Evan had told her before.
Mr. Lloyd accepted it.
After a while, Thea returned, and Serena chatted with her for a bit before saying goodbye to everyone.
Serena went to find Bianca Lynch.
Bianca happened to be at a shift change, so she was muttering many things to Serena.
"Serena, I’m a bit worried now. What if Justin’s business doesn’t take off?" Bianca said anxiously, "You know, it’s easy for a startup to fail."
Serena chuckled, tapped Bianca on the nose.
She thought for a mont, then said, "Actually, I think what Mrs. Huxley said was just to see where Justin stands."
Bianca looked at Serena.
Serena said, "If you think about it, Justin is a top-notch technician in a large company, once he gains experience, with stock options and whatnot, he’ll surely be earning quite a bit annually."
"I reckon Justin understood this too, so he’s now made his stance clear."
Bianca thought it made sense.
For these few days, she hadn’t been living frugally.
But there hadn’t been any unpleasantness in her dealings with Justin.
"What if my mom still opposes it in the end?" Bianca worriedly asked.
"I think you should go have an open-hearted conversation with her," Serena suggested, "Good communication is one way to solve problems."
"Moreover," Serena moved closer to Bianca and whispered in her ear, "do you really think Justin’s entrepreneurship will be ignored by the rest of us?"
"Just watch him fail? Impossible."
"Besides, irreplaceable top-notch technicians are in high demand everywhere."
Serena watched as Bianca’s eyes widened, and she smiled, patting Bianca on the head.
Bianca suddenly hugged Serena.
"Serena, you’re so good," Bianca said sullenly.
Serena slightly lowered her eyes, looking at Bianca.
Judging from their recent interactions, Justin was actually a decent person and treated Bianca quite well.
Perhaps Bianca’s mom felt their relationship was progressing too quickly and needed to test it.
Hopefully, Justin would continue to treat Bianca well; otherwise, Serena would definitely not let him off!
"Alright, don’t worry too much, Bianca. Previously, Mrs. Huxley took to a beauty salon that I found quite good. Want to go for a facial together?" Serena suggested.
"Sure!" Bianca jumped up, "You pay!"
"Okay," Serena agreed with a smile.
"I’ll go pack up and change clothes, wait for a bit!" Bianca said and then went to get ready.
Serena waited for her over here.
She was just sending a ssage to Silas saying she would be with Bianca in the evening, so he didn’t need to wait for her for dinner. As she looked up, she seed to see soone.
She frowned slightly.
Recalling the docunts she’d seen earlier, she felt sothing was amiss.
After sending a ssage to Bianca, she followed along.
About fifteen minutes later, Serena returned, having seen sothing. Deep in thought, Bianca just changed and ca back.
"So fast?" Bianca was a bit surprised.
Serena nodded, said, "Bianca, can you help investigate soone when you have ti later?"
Bianca grabbed Serena’s arm: "You pay at the beauty salon, and everything’s negotiable."
"I wasn’t planning to let you pay," Serena said with a smile, taking Bianca downstairs to the car.
...
Aether received news of a large overseas order at 11 p.m.
There was a ti difference between dostic and overseas.
It was work hours abroad, so the timing wasn’t unusual.
But dostically, this ti was quite delicate.
Especially since Aether was scheduled to hold a financing eting at 10 a.m. the next day.
All of a sudden, everyone watching this matter had their phones ringing off the hook.
When Serena received the news, she was at PIH.
After going to the beauty salon with Bianca that night, Bianca wanted to drink, so Serena accompanied her.
"Serena, I’ve just quickly found soone to verify the authenticity," Raine’s voice ca from the phone, "Company mbers have also been called to work overti, striving to prepare a new plan by tomorrow morning."
Serena nodded.
"Thank you for your hard work," Serena said, "After this busy period, I’ll give you guys double bonuses and paid leave."
Raine hurried off to get busy.
Serena was looking at the dance floor below.
Bianca was happily dancing there.
Serena felt that she should go back to the company at this ti, just as she opened the private room door intending to call Bianca over, she looked up and saw Ian Yates.
"Serena?" Ian first called out to her.
"Yes." Serena nodded, and then prepared to leave.
Ian waved his hand, letting the others around him leave first, and then followed Serena to the stairway.
"Do you need sothing?" Serena turned to ask.
"I want to have a few words with you," Ian said.
Serena looked around.
"Mr. Lawson isn’t around," Ian seed to have guessed Serena’s thoughts, so he said.
Serena paused slightly, looked at Ian: "What do you want to tell ?"
"Serena, Mr. Lawson has actually always regretted," Ian recalled various recent encounters with Julian Lawson.
He said, "He hasn’t been well recently, could you visit him more often and... give him another chance?"
