Painful beyond recall.

In the basent.

Julian Lawson watched Vera Hansen, her face turning purple from suffocation, struggling incessantly.

He was filled with hatred!

His stupidity had led to all of this.

Their child, his Serena...

Seeing Vera Hansen about to be choked to death, Julian Lawson finally let go of her neck and tossed her aside.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Vera Hansen lay on the ground, gasping for air, coughing constantly.

Seeing Julian Lawson slumped back in his wheelchair, she cursed out loud, "Julian Lawson, you maniac!"

But Julian Lawson just sat in his wheelchair with his head bowed.

Vera Hansen cursed for a long ti.

Finally catching her breath, she looked at Julian Lawson with hatred. Even though he wanted to kill her, didn’t he still have to comply in the end?

Vera Hansen laughed heartily and commanded:

"Julian Lawson, now, get the money and let out!"

Vera Hansen’s whole body trembled, but she was still laughing. She, Vera Hansen, was still the ultimate winner!

"Want money?" Julian Lawson slowly raised his head, "Want to leave?"

Julian Lawson’s face wore a bloodthirsty smile.

"Vera Hansen, you can’t leave."

Vera Hansen was stunned and shouted, "Julian Lawson, I have photos of Serena!"

But Julian Lawson kept smiling.

Looking at Vera Hansen, his smile was eerie.

"If you hadn’t ntioned the photos, I would’ve just sent you to prison," Julian Lawson said, "But now, I’ve changed my mind."

"I won’t let you die."

"But I also won’t let you live comfortably."

Vera Hansen panicked, "Preston Langley..."

"Preston Langley may be outside, but Vera Hansen, if he wants you alive, he won’t dare carelessly spread those photos." Julian Lawson said word by word, "I’ll find Preston Langley, and he will end up in my hands!"

Having said that, Julian Lawson moved his wheelchair toward the door of the basent.

Vera Hansen tried to pounce but was restrained by soone.

"President Lawson." Jude Chaucer was waiting outside the door.

Julian Lawson didn’t look at Jude Chaucer; he simply stared straight ahead.

"Get a lawyer." He had initially planned to send Vera Hansen to prison, but now, until Preston Langley was found, he couldn’t do that.

Julian Lawson told Jude Chaucer about Vera Hansen’s threats with the photos, emphasizing, "Find Preston Langley."

Jude Chaucer understood and imdiately set out to handle it.

Julian Lawson returned to the surface.

The driver drove him back to the apartnt.

He looked at the endless stream of traffic outside the car window.

Numb from the pain.

What should he do?

He wanted to tell Serena Sterling the whole truth right now.

But even if he told her, would she forgive him?

Would she co back?

Julian Lawson recalled what she had told him, that she and Silas Hawthorne had been intimate, that they were serious lovers.

He didn’t care that she had been with Silas Hawthorne, but would she abandon Silas and return to him?

Julian Lawson picked up another phone.

His number had already been blocked by her; this was a new number he had registered.

Julian Lawson typed out many words.

Many things about them, about Vera Hansen’s lies, about the agreent he and Vera Hansen had, and many words to win her back.

But in the end, he didn’t press send.

He erased all the words and finally typed a single line.

anwhile, on the other side.

Serena Sterling had already learned from Chloe Langley that the person who hit her was Preston Langley.

At that mont, her phone rang.

Serena Sterling glanced down; it was a text from an unknown number.

[The person who hit you with the car earlier is Preston Langley. He’s currently in Aeston, very dangerous, with multiple lives on his hands. He may co to attack you, please be careful. – Julian Lawson.]

"We’ve officially started a manhunt for Vera Hansen and Preston Langley." On the other side, Chloe Langley said to Serena Sterling.

Serena Sterling put away her phone and looked at the female officer.

"Okay," Serena nodded.

"Be careful recently," the female officer advised, "They might desperately make a move against you."

Serena Sterling nodded.

It turns out Vera Hansen and Preston Langley...

Serena recalled the aningful words Preston Langley had said to her before he left.

Previously, she thought it was a question, but now it seed to be a threat.

After finishing her conversation with Chloe Langley, Serena Sterling left the café.

She opened the car door and sat inside.

Silas Hawthorne was in the driver’s seat. Seeing her complex expression, he asked, "Is sothing wrong?"

Serena Sterling told him everything about Preston Langley.

Silas Hawthorne listened, his brow furrowed slightly.

"If it’s about Preston Langley being fired by Julian Lawson, I’ve heard about it before."

Silas Hawthorne said, "It was said to be corruption and leaking information; mostly, it was leaking information."

"Leaking information?" Serena Sterling was even more puzzled.

"Yes," Silas said as he started the car, "I’ll have soone look into it further."

The car smoothly hit the road.

...

After Julian Lawson sent the ssage, he kept looking at his phone.

He was conflicted.

He didn’t know when Serena Sterling would reply.

What would she say?

Or perhaps she wouldn’t acknowledge his ssage at all.

The car continued driving down the road.

Just as Julian Lawson thought Serena wouldn’t reply.

"Buzz, buzz."

The phone rang.

Julian Lawson quickly unlocked it.

She replied.

Just two words.

[Thank you.]

Two very polite words.

As if they were complete strangers.

Polite yet distant.

The car kept moving forward, while Julian Lawson was frozen in the vehicle.

He regretted it; he would rather she hadn’t responded, at least that way it would an she was still mad at him.

Rather than being polite and distant as she was now.

"Heh..."

Julian Lawson put away his phone and laughed self-deprecatingly.

...

The manhunt for Vera Hansen and Preston Langley was released.

Sharp-eyed online individuals working in related fields spotted this manhunt and imdiately posted it online.

...

At this mont, everyone in the fan group was dumbfounded too.

"What’s happening?"

"Is this real? Is it official?"

"Fake, it must be fake!"

They still refused to believe it, but soone had already laid out all the evidence before them.

"It’s an official notice, from the governnt and the police departnt, not so gossip source."

"Vera Hansen is finished!"

There were lurkers in this group, and now, soone imdiately posted screenshots from it online.

It sparked widespread discussion.
