That day they had a big argunt.
By the end of it, she was crying, while he just felt very annoyed.
To escape from it all, he turned to leave, and she rely asked him.
"Julian, we’ve been together for so many years, experiencing life and death together. In your heart, am I really such a person? Forging records, lying to you?"
At that mont, he ignored her and just grabbed his coat to walk out.
But as he reached the hallway, he heard the sound of glass shattering upstairs.
Later, he heard from the nanny—
"Madam’s hands were trembling badly and she couldn’t hold the glass, dropped it at once."
"Madam doesn’t know what’s going on, she just threw up, but the doctor said there was nothing seriously wrong with her body."
"Sir, Madam is upset, she’s been crying, do you want to go see her?"
...
Back then, he thought she was just acting up, trying to make him surrender.
But now...
Julian Lawson looked at the big words on the dical record [Somatic Symptoms], and realized just how gravely mistaken he had been.
All the facts were laid in front of him.
Making him feel as if all the air around him had been sucked out, unable to breathe.
He clearly knew that after her father died, she had gone from being a lady of wealth to a regular person, and even after Sheila Jenkins married William Wyatt, William kept beating her.
After William went to prison, Sheila’s relationship with her also soured.
He clearly knew she had been relying on him as her only support, her sole lover, her only family.
But he betrayed her!
He didn’t even dare to think about how she felt after he left that day.
Perhaps her world completely collapsed?
Yet he hadn’t realized at the ti.
At that ti... he was busy taking care of Vera Hansen.
"Zzt... Zzt..."
A fluorescent light in the corridor broke down, emitting the sound of an electric current, flashing on and off.
The flickering light made everything seem unreal, as if trapped in a nightmare.
Julian Lawson would rather it all be a dream, when he wakes up, discovering she’s still by his side, nothing has happened, and there’s still ti.
But the pain of his fingertips digging into his palms told him everything was real.
A face flashed before his eyes.
It was the mory of Serena Sterling showing him the records, and the person’s face in it.
At that ti, he glanced, seeing it was not Vera Hansen’s face, and assud Serena was lying.
Now, he suddenly rembered.
He had seen that face!
At that charity banquet, when he returned to his seat from the other side, he glanced at Vera’s phone and saw the face!
That was Vera Hansen’s alternate account!
Julian Lawson suddenly stood up.
The abrupt movent made him sowhat dizzy, his vision turning black intermittently, but that face beca clearer.
Like soone subrged in water suddenly breaking the surface, suddenly understanding.
He abruptly pushed open Vera Hansen’s ward door again, striding towards her.
At that mont, Vera Hansen was sending ssages to Alexander Ford.
The attending doctor had been found by Alexander Ford for her, now betrayed by that person; she was furious, continuously sending ssages questioning him.
She thought Julian Lawson had left, and for a mont didn’t react at all.
It wasn’t until Julian Lawson, with red eyes, walked over and grabbed her phone that she thought to snatch it back.
"Brother Julian, give back my phone!"
She was using her alternate account to ssage Alexander Ford, not wanting Julian Lawson to see!
Though she was always careful to delete the records after ssaging with the alternate account, she hadn’t had the chance to delete the recent ones!
Vera Hansen wanted to pounce, but Julian Lawson held her down firmly with one hand.
Julian Lawson glanced at the ssages Vera sent to the person nad "Spitfire Delight," and chuckled coldly.
Then, he opened the contact list, and began scrolling down.
"Brother Julian, what are you doing!" Vera Hansen was practically screaming, "How can you look through my phone! This is my privacy!"
Julian Lawson ignored her completely.
He found the familiar contact, Serena Sterling.
Clicked into it.
It was empty inside, not a single ssage.
Only the greeting ssage after adding a friend.
But Julian Lawson knows it’s because Vera deleted the records.
When Serena showed him the record, the greeting ti was exactly the sa.
And he just glanced over Vera’s ssages to "Spitfire Delight," and realized there was nothing earlier; however, from the content she sent, it was clear they had communicated before, which indicates Vera has the habit of deleting records.
"Brother Julian, what exactly do you want to do!" Vera Hansen was panicking, trying to cover it up by shouting.
Julian Lawson harshly pressed her against the wall, his eyes bloodshot as he questioned her: "Did you send things to provoke Serena before?"
"I didn’t!" Vera Hansen instinctively denied.
"I’ve seen those records!" Julian Lawson said through gritted teeth, for the first ti feeling the woman before him was so detestable!
"That was her fabrication..."
"Vera Hansen!" Julian Lawson couldn’t take it anymore.
"Don’t think deleting records locally will erase them, I can follow procedures to retrieve cloud records, I can recover data from your phone, are you going to admit it yourself or go through procedures!"
Faced with the terrifying Julian Lawson, Vera Hansen was montarily at a loss.
She had shown no rcy when ssaging Serena Sterling before.
If Julian Lawson finds out...
Seeing Vera Hansen still unwilling to speak, Julian Lawson took out his phone and called Secretary Chaucer.
Secretary Chaucer ca over right away.
"You can’t do this!" Vera Hansen scread, "This concerns my personal privacy..."
"Ha!" Julian Lawson laughed, now she talks about privacy?
"President Lawson." Secretary Chaucer had arrived.
Julian Lawson was just about to hand over the phone to Secretary Chaucer.
"I’ll confess!" Vera Hansen cried.
She couldn’t allow Secretary Chaucer to take away her phone.
Though she did certain things with another phone most of the ti, this phone contained plenty of secrets too.
The Lawson Corporation had plenty of data recovery experts.
In her mind, selectively revealing information herself was preferable to having the phone taken and having all data cracked and recovered for Julian Lawson to know everything.
Crying, Vera Hansen reached out to grab her phone.
This ti Julian Lawson didn’t stop her, just looked at her coldly.
She opened a hidden folder, entered the password.
Before she could do anything, Julian Lawson had already taken the phone.
Julian Lawson glanced at the folder na—[Trophies].
The aning was clear.
Julian Lawson gave Vera Hansen a cold stare.
Yet Vera Hansen rely kept her head down, crying.
With a single tap, inside were countless pictures, arranged in chronological order.
It could be seen that after sending each ssage and deleting the record, she had taken screenshots and saved them.
Layer upon layer.
The first one was—[You should know who I am, do you like the flowers in the living room today? I sent them, he said they’re beautiful.]
