On the other side, Serena Sterling was watching Seraphina while talking with Shayla Randall on the phone.
"Yes, Dr. Randall, I also feel I’ve stabilized quite a bit." Serena said softly, recalling the scene from last night where Seraphina was painting with Silas Hawthorne.
"Maybe I should start a new relationship too." She said.
However, Shayla Randall didn’t respond, which made Serena feel a bit strange.
At the sanatorium, Julian Lawson had lightly knocked on the office door, standing at the entrance with Vera Hansen.
Shayla Randall was the doctor treating Serena, and she had so knowledge about the matters between Serena and Julian Lawson.
And Julian Lawson, Serena’s husband, was a famous figure in Aeston; she was well aware of him too.
So...
Why did Julian Lawson bring Vera Hansen here?
After so thought, Shayla Randall said to Serena over the phone, "Sothing’s co up on my end. Sorry, can I call you back later?"
Serena complied without thinking much.
After hanging up, Shayla Randall looked towards Julian Lawson and Vera Hansen at the door.
"Is there sothing you need?" Shayla Randall asked.
Julian Lawson slightly furrowed his brow, weren’t they supposed to have an appointnt with the doctor?
Vera Hansen was about to speak, then ca the sound of footsteps.
"Sorry," another staff mber approached, "I gave you the wrong number just now, here is the correct one."
The staff exchanged the numbers, and only then did Julian Lawson understand.
"Sorry," the staff apologetically said to the two, then nodded at Shayla Randall.
Julian Lawson then led Vera Hansen to the next office.
Shayla Randall stepped out and exchanged a look with the staff mber.
"That new guy ssed up again," the staff mber said helplessly, "he can’t even give the correct number. I’m at a loss here, I still have to cover for his ss."
Shayla Randall smiled and consoled, "He’s here to gain experience, just be patient."
"No way, I must report to the higher-ups and have him transferred to so less important position. I can’t handle this every day." The other said before hastily leaving.
Shayla Randall watched the person leave, then turned her gaze to the next office.
...
Inside the adjacent office.
Julian Lawson accompanied Vera Hansen for the diagnosis, which took so ti.
Vera Hansen had already experienced wrist-cutting, indicating a severe level.
She needed dication and corresponding treatnt.
Julian Lawson frowned deeply.
Vera Hansen maintained a calm gaze with the doctor.
Last night, she had inquired about this sanatorium from Alexander Ford.
It had strong confidentiality asures, but as it was private, there was so room for maneuver.
This doctor in front of her was arranged by Alexander Ford.
And because Vera Hansen had already cut her wrist and had stomach cancer, no one doubted her condition.
"Brother Julian, I’m fine." Vera Hansen forced a smile, holding Julian Lawson’s hand, "Anyway, I was already..."
As she spoke, she didn’t continue, and Julian Lawson’s brow remained knitted.
He looked at the doctor, "Is there a better treatnt plan that can be controlled?"
Since Vera Hansen didn’t want to take dicine.
No matter what, she refused to take it.
The doctor sighed softly, saying, "I’ll do my best."
After the diagnosis was completed, Julian Lawson asked Vera Hansen to wait outside for him.
In the office, Julian Lawson asked the doctor, "Is it impossible not to take dication in her condition?"
The doctor nodded, "For severe cases, it’s difficult to control without dication."
Julian Lawson lowered his eyes slightly, lost in thought.
They discussed so related matters, finally, the doctor said, "I will consult with other doctors, and then provide you with a report and plan."
Julian Lawson finally nodded.
"Leave an address," the doctor said, "To ensure user privacy and prevent information leaks, our internal system is not connected to the outside, so the reports after the discussions will be mailed as printed docunts to the given address."
Julian Lawson understood, then left the address of the apartnt next to The Lawson Corporation.
After confirming the address, Julian Lawson ca out, looking down at Vera Hansen.
"Let’s go," he said.
Then he led Vera Hansen out together.
Shayla Randall watched everything quietly.
She didn’t pry into others’ dical conditions, just observed silently.
Just when she thought they had left and was about to close the office door, Vera Hansen returned.
This ti she was alone.
Shayla Randall slightly furrowed her brow, finding it strange, but she continued to quietly get so water.
This ti, the door to the adjacent office was left open, and fragnts of Vera Hansen’s voice drifted out.
"Yes..."
"Like this..."
"Um, change it to my address..."
"Vivian’s Floral Studio..."
Then who knows what else was said, and she left in a hurry.
Shayla Randall didn’t know what they were up to.
She had a feeling sothing was amiss.
But she had professional ethics, so she didn’t say much.
Only thinking that later, when Serena ca over, she could find out about the visitors’ situation, avoiding them if possible.
...
In the sanatorium’s parking lot, Julian Lawson was waiting in the car for Vera Hansen.
She had said she needed to use the restroom.
He idly checked his phone.
A piece of gossip suddenly appeared.
It was news from Ian Yates.
"Hey, I’ve heard a major piece of gossip!" Ian Yates sent over a voice ssage, "You know the leader of the Hawthorne Family, Silas Hawthorne? He’s been making moves lately, planning drone fireworks displays, preparing restaurant gifts, cruises, and various engagent items, he’s probably planning a union!"
Listening to this, Julian Lawson recalled the conversation among the three Hawthorne family mbers on the day of the Heavenly Sound finals.
It seed like Silas Hawthorne indeed had the intention to make such a move.
But back then, he heard from them that the girl hadn’t agreed yet.
Thinking about what Ian Yates ntioned, it seed like he was pursuing her.
With that in mind, Julian Lawson tapped the screen and sent a ssage—"Which family is the union with?"
Hawthorne Group was one of the three giants in Aeston; a union was very sensitive, often indicating a coming deep collaborative tie between two families.
Ian Yates quickly replied—"I don’t know, the Hawthorne Family’s confidentiality is tight. Even that dimwitted Orion Hawthorne didn’t spill anything; they’re probably going to drop a bombshell soon."
Julian Lawson slightly furrowed his brow.
At this mont, a quarrel broke out, and he glanced over to see soone arguing at the front desk of the sanatorium, not knowing what it was about.
But in a while, Vera Hansen returned.
"Brother Julian, sorry to keep you waiting." Vera Hansen said with a smile.
Julian Lawson put down his phone, started the car, and left.
At the sa ti, on the other side.
Aeston First Hospital.
Ethan Lynch was walking down a corridor when he suddenly overheard soone talking about sothing.
"Yes, it’s that Vera Hansen, really odd."
"I’ve never understood why she sees the doctor like this, it shouldn’t be like this."
