Chapter 46: Almost

"Senior Brother Shan, this is getting really troubleso."

Seraph sighed tiredly, then his eyes turned cold.

Holding the princess’s hand, he alighted from the horse, moving closer to the others in the middle.

She looked terrified and hopeless. Why were they after her life so much?

Noel couldn’t get down from his horse because Thana was still injured. Although he had frozen the wound, she was still weak and barely conscious.

Marcus and the last disciple ca close too, their expressions guarded.

"Senior Brother Shan, are you good with ranged attacks?"

Seraph asked, handing over the princess to him.

The young man’s brows furrowed. "Yes. Why do you ask?"

He already had an inkling of what Seraph wanted to do.

Shaking his head, Seraph released the princess and stepped back.

"I’m going to break through them."

He abruptly dashed forward, charging straight at a segnt of their encirclent.

The masked n reacted quickly, blowing hot flas straight at him.

Seraph divided the flas using a few wind blades, them shot two water blades at the masked man right in front of him.

The man unsheathed his swords and deflected the two blades. However, this left him wide open.

Seraph imdiately seized the opportunity and stabbed him through the heart.

The next mont, he pivoted to the side. Hard spikes shot up from the ground, having sharp and pointed ends.

Seraph didn’t hesitate and swung his weapon towards the culprit. The man effortlessly blocked with his own spear, but that was enough.

An ice arrow had already pierced his heart.

Several ice arrows streaked through the air, forcing the masked n to constantly be on defensive mode.

anwhile, Marcus and the other disciple shot fireballs and wind blades to their rear.

This was their formation. Seraph lead at the front, assaulting the n all by himself. In just a few minutes, two n had already fallen to his spear. One more joined imdiately.

Still on the horse, Noel held on to Thana and the princess while supporting Seraph by distracting the enemies or dealing finishing blows to distracted enemies.

Behind him, Marcus and the Solstice Peak disciple did sothing surprising.

"Wind Tornado!"

Watching the fierce tornado created by his fellow disciple, Marcus’s eyes glinted with madness.

Instead of throwing his fireballs at the enemies, he threw them into the tornado.

"Don’t resist!"

He imdiately shouted to the disciple, making him control the tornado and not destroy the balls fla.

Imdiately after, the tornado caught fire and beca a fiery tornado.

"Hah! Take that!"

The two chorused, sending their joint creation towards the enemies at their rear.

The attack was fierce, directly sucking several of the masked n into the tornado.

"Hahahah."

Laughing wildly despite the stinging pain in his chest, he retreated, following the path that Seraph was opening.

The white-haired boy had sustained so injuries after fighting for a while. Although he was skilled with the spear and had a matching cultivation stage with the enemies, he was thoroughly outnumbered.

His body size also made it harder for him to match their adult strength, putting him at a disadvantage.

Thankfully, Noel was there to support him with ranged attacks while simultaneously watching over the sidelines.

’Although we’re moving, the encirclent hasn’t been broken. They’re also moving with us.’

Taking a quick glance at the city in the distance, he imdiately spotted a watchtower.

’If we can move close enough, whoever is in that watchtower would be able to sight us and send help.’

Eyes narrowed, Seraph imdiately increased his aggression on the enemies.

"First Form—Cyclone."

Two n were slashed across the chest, the wounds spurting blood instantly. Before they could even retreat, ice arrows shot through their hearts.

Noel had also noticed the watchtower and realized Seraph’s plan, so he imdiately focused most of his attention at the forefront.

Behind him, Marcus and the Solstice disciple created a fire tornado again, plunging the rear into chaos.

However, the masked n were already adapting. They created earth walls and water walls to block off the attack. Even then, they were being stalled enough for the duo to escape.

BOOM!

Far behind them, loud explosions continued to ring as shockwaves from the clash between Peak Master Stage cultivators continued.

"Seraphim Spear: Second Form—Piercer."

The spear seemingly elongated, directly skewering three masked n before they could react. When he removed his spear from their bodies, blood splattered onto him, painting him red.

Seraph didn’t even blink.

With his faint smile still present, he took down more and more enemies despite receiving injuries in return.

A glaive grazed his shoulder, making him wince. However, he was unfazed. Stopping a spear from stabbing into his stomach, he shifted its trajectory and let it impale the glaive user.

"Ah! My bad, hehe."

Grinning teasingly, he dashed towards the spear user and beheaded him with a wind blade at close range.

It was completely unavoidable.

Suddenly, he ducked, feeling sothing hot brush over his head.

’A fireball?!’

He imdiately turned around, knowing the fireball would be heading towards Noel and the others.

Thankfully, Noel had already blocked it with an ice shield.

’Phew... my hair must have been singed—ugh.’

He felt a sword stab through his shoulder from behind. The enemy had used that brief mont of distraction against him. Turning his head, he glared at the attacker and grabbed the blade with his other hand.

The next mont, two wind blades appeared next to the masked man and beheaded him. Blood spurted into the sky, coming down like raindrops.

Seraph felt the blood sprinkle on his face but he didn’t care. He rely wiped the blood off his eyelids and removed the sword. His own blood dripped from the blade, and he stared at it for a mont.

’Strange...’

The next mont, he fell into battle again. Now using the blade, he adopted the sword techniques he had taught Ariana and began using them.

"Seraphim Sword: First Form—Split the Solid."

The sword opened a large gash on a masked man’s chest, even slicing his ribs apart.

’Damn. My naming sense is so great!’
