Chapter 29: Entrance Examination (6)

The next day, all the qualified participants were gathered at the city center where Elder Wang Tem stood on the stage once again.

This ti, there were a few equipnts on the stage, along with four disciples who stood with stoic expressions.

"Welco to the second stage of the Entrance Examination." Elder Wang said calmly, his gaze cool and approving.

"Today, we will be testing your aptitude, cultivation level, and bone age. Those below the Core Beginner Stage are not allowed and would be disqualified. Anyone below the age of ten or above the age of fourteen would also be disqualified."

His words resonated through the crowd, causing hushed whispers and discussions to spread.

"You were all given tags yesterday. Now co up one by one according to your number."

Elder Wang took a step back, settling into the chair behind him.

One of the four disciples on the stage stepped forward, scanning the youngsters with narrowed eyes.

"Number one, co up."

The girl was surprisingly Tamar. Maintaining her cold expression, she pushed through the crowd and climbed up the stage.

The disciple looked at her, then guided her to the first equipnt. It was a stone podium with a calibration at it’s side.

Picking up a needle, he handed it to her.

"Prick your hand and let your blood drop onto the stone."

Tamar nodded, collected the needle, and pricked her finger. After squeezing, a drop of blood fell from the finger, dropping onto the stone slab.

Strangely, the blood was absorbed into the stony surface. The calibration at the sides slowly rose from zero, crossing the ten years mark and stopping at the twelve years mark.

"Twelve years old—Good." Elder Wang remarked.

Then the disciple led her to the second equipnt on the stage. It was a familiar equipnt to all cultivators—an Aptitude Rod.

However, unlike the one used in the Moonveil Clan, this one was bigger and longer.

Tamar didn’t look surprised, already used to seeing such. She pricked her hand again, and touched the rod with it.

The transparent rod turned brown, and the color rose rapidly. Everyone watched with interest as it crossed the fifth-ci and entered into the sixth-ci and stopped.

"Wow! She has a sixth-ci aptitude! She’s a genius!"

Amazed whispers spread from the crowd, while Elder Wang nodded with a pleased smile.

’Even if she doesn’t pass the last test, I can still allow her into the sect.’

Then, they moved onto the next equipnt, which Tamar was requested to stand on. Imdiately, the tal slab lit up, displaying a text in gold—INITIAL ADVANCED STAGE.

Once again, the crowd was amazed. Elder Wang nodded in satisfaction, then said to her.

"You have passed this stage. Change her tag."

One of the other three disciples ca forward, collected her tag, and changed it.

After bowing curtly, Tamar turned around and elegantly walked down the stage. The crowd of participants and their guardians parted for her, while the next person made his way up to the stage.

It was lox, Marcus’s twin brother.

The boy had an arrogant expression on his face, though he glared at Tamar as she walked down the stage.

He got onto the stage, then approached the bone age checker under the disciple’s guidance.

When he dropped his blood onto it, it displayed his age as thirteen years. Several people nodded, but no one was really impressed.

He asured his aptitude next, which showed that he had a five-ci-aptitude.

"Not bad." Elder Wang nodded, though he didn’t look really impressed.

Next, they checked lox’s cultivation, which showed that he was also an Initial Advanced Stage cultivator.

Elder Wang nodded subtly, ’Based on what I can see, he must have been pushed to this level. His foundation must be very weak.’

Although he was disappointed, the boy had passed the test and cleared the second stage of the Entrance Examination. After changing his tag, lox returned to the crowd, his expression more arrogant than before.

The next few participants were called up, with a few of them getting disqualified for being older than the acceptable age range.

In their corner, Ariana folded her arms. "I didn’t think older people would co here too. So that guy is actually seventeen! Hmph!"

Elder Cassius smiled slightly. "It is usually an honor to get into a sect. Many people are willing to do anything just for that chance."

Seraph nodded with a smile. "It’s a dream for many."

Then he turned to the silver-haired girl. "It’s your turn, Ariana."

The girl looked at her tag and gasped in surprise. "Ah!"

She imdiately rushed out, pushing through the crowd and making her way up the stage. After about a minute, she finally climbed up the stage and faced the disciple.

The young man stared at her with a frown, then took her to check her bone age. When they calibrator stopped at ten years, everyone was surprised.

"So young!"

"What’s she doing here? This isn’t a place for kids, right?"

"What do you know? Perhaps she’s a genius!"

"Taa! I don’t think so. Maybe she’s just trying her luck. She’ll co next year too."

Words of skepticism flew about, making her frown slightly. The disciple then took her to the aptitude rod to check her aptitude.

To everyone’s surprise, she had a five-ci-aptitude.

Their prejudice against her age was gone, and they eagerly waited to know her cultivation.

Even Elder Wang beca interested. ’Let’s see...’

Ariana’s blood was dropped onto the tal slab, and it imdiately lit up, displaying a bold text—PEAK BEGINNER STAGE.

The crowd was stunned into silence, amazed.

"Impressive." Elder Wang smiled, his gaze turning soft.

Ariana bead in joy as her tag was changed, then returned to Seraph and Elder Cassius.

"I did it!"

Seraph smiled and ruffled her hair, then walked towards the stage as he was the next. Seeing that they were together, murmurs spread.

Seraph’s white hair attracted lots of attention, coupled with his rainbow eyes.

Several girls or won stared at him with starry eyes, srized by his looks. Seraph paid no attention to this and followed the disciple to the first equipnt.

The calibrator rose and stopped at eleven years, once again surprising the crowd.

Elder Wang’s eyes narrowed subtly. ’He’s quite young too. Will he surprise ?
