Chapter 19: Attack
Seraph’s omnipresent smile dimd, and he imdiately headed out of his room. Although he wasn’t sure what exactly was going to happen, he had a guess.
’Everything has been going too smoothly, even after the Suho Clan visited. Surely, politics must co into play at so point, right?’
He didn’t tell anyone before he headed straight towards the Clan Smithery.
Entering through the large doors, he was greeted with great respect by the blacksmiths present.
Pausing, Seraph returned their greetings and asked. "Where is the Chief Blacksmith?"
"Eh... he went out to check an ore mine close to the clan." One of them answered.
Massaging his temples, Seraph nodded. "Soone should go call him now—fast."
Imdiately, a blacksmith set out, using his full speed as a cultivator.
Seraph turned to the others.
"Stop all the work you’re doing. We have a bigger project."
Directing the blacksmiths, he gave them different blueprints, then guided them in mass-producing those materials.
By the ti the Chief Blacksmith returned, the Smithery was filled with action.
Seraph turned to him as soon as he ca in. "You’re here. Good. How about the things I asked you to do?"
The Chief Blacksmith furrowed his brows, his expression serious. "I just need the finishing touch. That’s why I went to the ore mine myself. I’ve gotten the perfect ore."
Seraph’s smile blood. "Great! Let’s go work on it then."
’There’s no need to call the attention of the authorities at the mont, they’ll be attracted to this place soon.’
Holding that thought, Seraph followed the man to his personal workshop within the smithery.
Then, they began working together.
By noon, the unusual seriousness at the Smithery had caught the attention of the normal clansn, then eventually the Elders and the Patriarch himself.
"What the hell is going on in there?"
Patriarch Gon sighed as he headed to the Smithery with two other Elders. The instant they entered, they were welcod with a wave of intense heat.
Gon’s eyes narrowed, watching the blacksmiths run around in chaotic coordination like workers trying to et a deadline.
It was even hard to find an idle blacksmith to question.
"Let’s go et their leader. He should be able to tell us what is going on." The female Elder suggested.
Gon nodded and then headed to the Chief Blacksmith’s workshop. However, he was blocked at the door by two other blacksmiths who claid he was in an important forging process and couldn’t be disturbed.
"Hah? Tell him it’s the Patriarch!" The male Elder scowled, displeased.
"I apologize, Patriarch. But please wait for so ti." The other blacksmith said.
Gon sighed, closing his eyes for a mont. "Why are you all suddenly busy? There hasn’t been any massive request from the warriors, have there?"
The man shook his head. "You’re right. However, it is Young Chief Seraph who gave us blueprints and asked is to mass-produce as much as we can before evening ti."
"Huh? Young Chief Seraph? When did that boy...?" The male Elder frowned, his eyes narrowed.
"Patriarch. Isn’t this a bit unreal? Why would that boy be ordering our blacksmiths around?" The female Elder said, her hands on her hips.
At that mont, the door to the Chief Blacksmith’s workshop opened, and he stepped out with Seraph.
Upon seeing them, the male Elder spoke imdiately. "Seraph. What is the aning of all this?"
As if he hadn’t heard that, Seraph bead at the Patriarch. "Aha! I knew you’d co. Please tell your warriors to co over to the armory. We have a surprise for them."
Beside him, the Chief Blacksmith nodded seriously.
"What?" Gon blinked, confused. "Why would I do that? Seraph, tell
what is going on."
The boy waved dismissively. "It’s not the ti for idle chats. We’re wasting ti already."
Seeing the disgruntled and angry expressions of the Elders, he sighed. "Well, you wouldn’t think you would be left alone to grow for a long while, no?"
His coded ssage, simple but having an underlying aning, imdiately alerted the Patriarch and the Elders.
"This... it can’t be true, right?" The female Elder tried to deny it, but the idea had already been dropped in her heart.
"Alright. I’ll prepare the warriors. You continue whatever you think is necessary."
Saying this, Gon left with heavy steps, a serious expression on his face. Seraph sighed, then turned to the Chief Blacksmith.
"We need guys who can do quick manual labor, and a safe place for the other clansn to retreat to."
"Understood."
........
As the sun sank into the horizon, an army of over five hundred t so distance away from the Moonveil Clan. This army consisted of three main groups—the Suho Clan, the Scota Clan, and the Ban Clan.
"My scouts returned not long. There’s nothing strange about the Clan’s movents, so we can be sure they’re completely clueless."
Patriarch Tun said solemnly, his face covered by a helt.
"What are we waiting for then? Attack them." Matriarch Suho said impatiently.
"Not so fast. We’re going in strategically. The cover of the night is our advantage." Patriarch Nevak interrupted her with a thoughtful expression.
The three quickly ca together, forming a strategy to crush the Moonveil Clan without giving them a chance to retreat.
The three groups separated, with the Suho Clan warriors charging straight at the Moonveil Clan’s gates. The Scota Clan curved east, deciding to attack them from the side and weaken their chaotic army. The Ban Clan warriors also curved west for the sa purpose.
With the three groups using a three-pronged attack, there was no way of survival for the Moonveil Clan—at least, they believed so.
Matriarch Suho commanded her warriors to attach the gates, watching as the Moonveil guards hurriedly sounded the alarms and closed the gates.
’They didn’t expect it. Heh!’
Just as a smirk rose on her lips, she saw an unusual movent on the walls. A line of archers rose—few but coordinated. They drew their bowstrings, then shot fire arrows straight at the attacking warriors of the Suho Clan.
Matriarch Suho’s pupils dilated, shocked. "What the...?"
