Chapter 14: Misunderstanding

Imdiately after, Seraph beca like a divine figure for the blacksmiths. They actively learnt the new technique from him, with all of them hurrying to test it out.

The head of blacksmiths ca up to Seraph and addressed him respectfully.

"Young Sir, I sincerely hope you can help us resolve the difficulties we’ve been facing in so of our techniques."

Seraph glanced at him, then gave Elder Cassius a peculiar look.

The adult man imdiately understood, his brows furrowing tightly.

"I’ll discuss your paynt with the Patriarch. Don’t worry."

Seraph smiled brightly, then turned back to the Head of Blacksmiths.

"Alright, big uncle. Let’s work on them."

He turned to face his sister and asked. "Do you want to wait behind and see for yourself?"

The girl pouted slightly, nodding. "I’ll stay and watch."

Seraph seed happier, then turned back to Elder Cassius.

"Well... isn’t it about ti you leave, sir?"

Elder Cassius’s brows twitched. Seraph was indirectly telling him to hurry and confirm the paynt for his services.

The man waved his hand, carrying an expression of masked irritation, then left the smithery.

As soon as he stepped out of that hot workshop, his expression changed.

’Where could he possibly have learned sothing like this?’

It was strange—very strange. Seraph was just a five year old kid. Yet he had knowledge in sword and spear arts. Now, he was surprising them with his knowledge about forging.

"Does he have so powerful figure teaching him in secret?"

His heart made a wild guess which was the most probable.

’So he caught the attention of a powerful figure, huh? Sigh... I knew we couldn’t hide him for long.’

Ending his speculation in a misunderstanding, the elder was no longer suspicious of Seraph. Instead, he was interested in how much their clan could benefit from this mysterious figure.

Before long, he arrived at the Patriarch’s Manor and went to his study room.

"Ah, Uncle. I’ve been waiting for you to return." Gon welcod him, a curious expression on his face. "What happened?"

Cassius plopped into the cushion, sighing and covering his face.

"A lot has happened, Gon. A lot."

The Patriarch frowned instantly. "Is it sothing dangerous and urgent?"

He looked ready to charge into battle at any mont. Cassius waved his hand dismissively.

"No, it’s not like you’re thinking. Instead, I’m just surprised."

"Just go straight to the point, Uncle."

"Fine, fine..."

Cassius explained what had transpired this morning to his nephew, and also dropped his opinion on the possibility of a hidden figure behind Seraph.

"That’s..."

The Patriarch fell silent, unable to say a word. His eyes were wide in disbelief, his mouth agape.

"You’re saying... he solved a forging issue?"

Cassius nodded. "Not just that. He seems competent enough to solve other forging issues."

Gon reclined in his chair, closing his eyes. The revelation was just too great for him to easily believe. For a normal person, it took five or more years to learn forging and beco a blacksmith.

And that was even only when the person was talented in that regard.

’Yet you’re saying this kid knows even more than our regular blacksmiths...?’

If it wasn’t his uncle telling him, he’d not believe in the slightest. Then, he turned his attention to the second detail.

"You think soone is teaching him?"

He asked, his expression serious. Cassius didn’t need to answer as his expression showed how much he believed in his speculation.

’If there’s truly soone teaching him, and we can’t detect him or her...’

That ans the person was vastly stronger than any one of the most powerful in the Moonveil Clan.

"For us not to detect their presence, he must be around the Master or King stage in cultivation."

Cassius spoke up as if reading his nephew’s mind.

Gon nodded. He knew what this ant—they were completely powerless against such a figure.

"Thankfully, we’ve been very nice to Seraph from the start. There should be no issues... I hope."

Suddenly, Cassius’s eyes lit up. "Ohh, I forgot. He wants to be paid for helping out our blacksmiths."

Gon blinked, amazed. "He actually thought that fast."

With the quality of their equipnts increasing, there’d be more inco generated when the sales boom.

"I understand, I’ll pay him a 100 Silver Spirit Crystals for every modification he makes. Surely, that’s fair. Right?"

Cassius nodded. "Indeed. I don’t think anyone has this much personal cultivation resources within the clan. The boy is really lucky."

Gon gave a bitter smile. "Perhaps this is what his master wanted when he taught him the techniques?"

The uncle raised a brow. "That might be true. We can’t rule out the possibility."

He suddenly leaned forward. "However, shouldn’t we try calling the attention of the person behind Seraph so we can speak to them."

Imdiately, the Patriarch shook his head. "No, we can’t do that."

"Hm, why?" Cassius was confused.

"We don’t know their intentions towards us. The best thing now is to maintain neutrality and act oblivious."

After hearing Gon’s words, Cassius understood. People who were strong tended to look down on the weak. Although not all, it was a general habit or attitude in the cultivation world.

"I understand. Then I’ll return to tell him your offer."

"Wait." The Patriarch stopped him, opening his drawer to retrieve a hundred Silver Spirit Crystals. He placed them into a handy sack and gave it to Elder Cassius.

"To avoid him negotiating with us, let’s give him this now."

After all, the boy surely wouldn’t like sending an adult on errands, right?

Cassius grinned proudly. "As expected of my smart nephew. You’re really cunning."

Holding the sack in his palm, he left the Clan Manor and returned to the Smithery.

To his surprise, the place was bustling with busy blacksmiths and random people who had different elental affinities. After receiving accurate guidance from Seraph, the blacksmiths were now mass-producing several durable elental swords.

Seraph sat in a corner, a leisurely smile on his face as he watched them work.

’Why is he always smiling?’

Grimacing inwardly, Elder Cassius walked towards him. He raised the sack of spirit crystals and opened his mouth to speak.

Seraph cut him off, politely. "Two hundred, sir."

Elder Cassius’s even widened to the extre. "What?!"
