Zero Egg couldn’t help but exclaim, "Sotis I really wonder where your earth-shattering ideas co from."
"Picked them up," Wen Jiang replied.
She was from another world, so it really wasn’t much different from just picking them up.
With Mo Liqing and Mo Lihai released, Mo Lihong and Mo Lishou were next.
Compared to his two brothers, Mo Lihong was actually more obnoxious. His magical instrunt, an umbrella, had far too many functions and definitely needed to be toned down.
Wen Jiang also had an interesting thought. If the cards are this imbalanced, they naturally need to counter-balance each other, making them more versatile for combinations with other cards.
Mo Lihong could then be used to counter the other two Mo brothers. Of course, if they were on the sa team, their synergy would be disgustingly effective—or just plain frustrating to face.
Mo Lihong threw his gem-studded Hunyuan Umbrella into the sky. As it opened, it enveloped the entire field, much like Changer’s skills.
The Hunyuan Umbrella had four orbs, each representing a different ability. Similar to his two brothers, these directly corresponded to the four elents: wind, fire, water, and earth. Once the Hunyuan Umbrella opened, if an orb lit up and an opposing Card Spirit of the corresponding attribute was present, that Card Spirit’s abilities would be completely absorbed by the umbrella.
Conversely, if a Card Spirit with these abilities was on Mo Lihong’s team, their power would be doubled.
On his own team, Mo Lihong acted as support; against opponents, he was a bane.
For instance, many wind, fire, thunder, and lightning cards were on the market. If they encountered Mo Lihong and he used the corresponding ability, that Card Spirit would be rendered useless.
Mo Lishou was relatively simpler.
Like Hou Yi, he didn’t need many abilities; strong damage output was sufficient.
Mo Lishou’s magical treasure was a Sable. This creature could enlarge and swallow Card Spirits at will, its power naturally terrifying. Mo Lishou could summon the Sable to a designated position. The Sable moved with blistering speed. If a Card Spirit swallowed by it failed to escape within five seconds, it was considered successfully consud. However, five seconds was quite a long ti, generally depending on the Spirit Card Master’s spiritual power. After swallowing a Card Spirit, the Sable could copy and imdiately use one of the consud Card Spirit’s skills.
Teleportation, control, and damage output—these were the roles of the Sable.
The synergy skills Mo Lishou ford with his brothers were exceptionally potent.
If his brothers were in the card group and received what would be a fatal injury, Mo Lishou would imdiately recall the Sable to block the fatal attack for them. This could counter sothing like Hou Yi’s one-arrow kill.
The rest would co down to the interplay between Spirit Card Masters.
With four cards completed, Wen Jiang was extrely satisfied.
The strength of these cards was indeed worthy of the na "Four Heavenly Kings." To create them, Wen Jiang had barely gone to the company for nearly two months.
However, as she beca more skilled at making cards, her speed increased. It was now the end of September, and there was still ti before the cards were due.
Seeing her pause, Zero Egg grew curious. "Mount Flower wants a full card set, and you’ve already made four. What do you plan for the fifth one? Since all Four Heavenly Kings are done, the next card can’t be part of their team, right?"
The na itself made it clear—there were only four Heavenly Kings, so the next card Wen Jiang was going to make was unlikely to belong to their synergy set.
"I’m still thinking about it," Wen Jiang said.
After completing these four cards, Wen Jiang actually already had an idea for the next one. While working on the Sable, she had inevitably thought of a certain character: Su Daji.
If *Investiture of the Gods* had a female protagonist, Su Daji would undoubtedly be the lead from beginning to end.
Yet, for so long, Su Daji has been portrayed as the quintessential woman who brings disaster to a nation. Wen Jiang, however, had never truly liked that portrayal.
Besides, this image of Su Daji was shaped by a novel. Following that line of reasoning, even Nvwa, the primordial goddess credited with creating humanity, could be called into question. According to the novel, King Shangzhou offended Nvwa, who then sent a fox spirit to possess Su Daji and bring about the downfall of the Shang Dynasty.
No matter how one looked at it, this story seed to slander female deities, as if wanting to pin the entire responsibility for a nation’s fall on won.
Since these were Yunxia’s mythological tales, and previous myths had several segnts, Wen Jiang felt she could very well connect these myths herself.
First, Pangu split heaven from earth, and Nvwa created humankind. Then ca the age of Yunxia’s gods, followed by the Dharma-Ending Age and the appearance of *Investiture of the Gods*. After that, there were so everyday tales.
Wen Jiang decided she wanted to create Su Daji—a Su Daji who was absolutely, devastatingly beautiful.
It just so happened she was short one card. The Four Heavenly Kings leaned towards a complex system and lacked definitive strong crowd control. Su Daji could be that kind of card.
It wasn’t about pairing her with the Four Heavenly Kings, but simply about completing the card set for Mount Flower.
She checked the ti. The competition would start in November. Now that a new card set had appeared, the Mount Flower team mbers needed to train with it promptly. Su Daji could be developed later.
Wen Jiang took the completed cards and headed to the Mount Flower Association.
The Mount Flower Association hadn’t been peaceful lately. The Moon Palace Card Set had disrupted all current market strategies. Moreover, they had already acquired a Mo Liqing card, so the A-team mbers had been training with these new cards for the past several days.
After all, card strength was one thing, but lack of skill in using them could still lead to a "crash and burn." It didn’t matter how strong one’s cards were if the opponent never gave an opportunity to play them.
Wen Jiang hadn’t shown her face in a long ti. When she arrived this ti, she found the A-Level Training Room completely empty. She didn’t ask Zero Egg to investigate, deciding instead to first find Tang Qian in her office.
Tang Qian was buried under a pile of docunts. Hearing a knock, she looked up and saw Wen Jiang, her voice filled with pleasant surprise. "You’re here?"
Of course, Tang Qian was surprised. Wen Jiang’s arrival ant the card set was almost ready. Still, she was sowhat shocked at Wen Jiang’s incredible speed.
After calming down and thinking it over, Tang Qian knew Wen Jiang’s speed and creativity in card-making were abnormal, but she didn’t care. As long as the Empire didn’t uncover any issues, all that mattered to her were the good results Mount Flower would achieve.
Wen Jiang nodded, sat down, and then casually asked, "Why is no one in the training room today?"
"Song Zhi ca to visit Sheng Hongying. They all heard the news and went to see their idol," Tang Qian replied with a helpless smile. "Song Zhi is the heir of the Noble Song Family. She joined the Broken Heart Association and will officially compete this year.
"She and Hongying have a good relationship, so everyone wanted to see this legendary figure now that she’s here."
Wen Jiang paused subtly.
She suddenly rembered: Song Yingchen’s older sister was the heir of the Song Family. So, this must be Song Zhi?
But since Song Zhi was an unrelated party, Wen Jiang returned to business. "I’ve finished four cards, including the Mo Liqing you already have. These four are designed as a linked card set. I’ll need more ti to think about the final card. For now, these four should be enough for the competition."
