Having cleared all of the enemies, only the ship with the injured and the young chiefs survived—thanks to their intelligence in abandoning their n who decided to attack Akashi and Korra. It was obvious to Akashi that they feared Korra more than him.
'Because if they considered my strength, and ho, they wouldn't have left their n here,' Akashi thought.
He wasn't a complicated man, and he didn't like killing.
But he had a set of rules that told him when it was okay, and when it was not.
n who fight for what they believe, or those caught in political conflict… These were just people who deserved their ass kicked. Sa for counterfeiters and other harmless individuals.
Corrupt politicians who fund cri, serial killers, murderers, diddies… and war criminals who go after his people—They get no rcy.
"What are you musing about?" Korra asked, walking to Akashi, who was staring at the direction of Republic City's port.
One of the bad sides of being a strong man with a strong mind and body was that you didn't need sleep that often.
You could get away by staying up for 5 days.
And the world felt so lonely when everyone was asleep.
'I'll have to buy latonin. A ton of it,' Akashi sighed deeply.
"Why are you sighing at ?" she asked.
"Nothing. I just had enough ti to think about a lot of things," Akashi replied.
"Don't tell you're regretting it already?" Korra put her hands on her hips and frowned.
"Not what you are thinking about." Akashi replied, shaking his head. "I'm not backing out of that."
The last week on the cruise was almost dedicated to Korra. She had expressed her desire to get pregnant, and Akashi wasn't backing down. Being a man with a quick-loading machine gun helped him give his all. She had been quite happy with his efforts, and Akashi believed that there would be so little him walking around in nine months or so.
"Akashi!"
And Korra's private conversation with Akashi didn't last long when Asami appeared from nowhere, holding his hand.
"Yes?" Akashi replied.
"Let's have breakfast in the mid-city. I know a good restaurant that serves well." She invited.
"I would love to," replied Akashi, "But I have to review my business… and how it had been doing when I was gone."
Akashi had a small series of restaurants under the chefs he had trained, and so vodka factories, potato farming companies, and workers. Sure, he had managers and all. But he needed to be present, to remind them of who was the true boss.
"Don't sound like my father. It will be quick." Asami replied.
"Hey, I was talking to him." Korra grumbled.
"Don't worry, I won't take him for long. I'll just accompany him on the way," said Asami.
Korra tightened her gaze at Asami. She then looked at Akashi, patted his arm, and said, "I'd be in the temple then, resting."
"Won't you accompany ."
"I'm quite tired down there, if you get it, so I'll need to rest," replied Korra, "And, I don't understand much about business and all. So, call when you cook."
"Okay," Akashi nodded.
Seeming to be a bit sad, Korra let her arms down and dragged herself.
After that, Akashi and Asami got a taxi and went nearby to the restaurant she recomnded, having a date.
The cuisine in this city was more like Chinese. Most of the food was spicy, but it was good, nevertheless—just not as pleasant as his food.
He and Asami talked about different topics, from business to politics to bed-politics. The conversation got a bit spicy, and Akashi knew that very soon, sothing would happen.
After that, they departed. Akashi went to his company's headquarters to question the profits and how the business was going. And so, he called for a eting. People in his company seed to fear him, and so sucked up to him just as soon as he got in.
But even then, he focused on what mattered.
The business was growing. The vodka was getting more popular, and the fast food was always in high demand. So tried to steal the recipes, but they didn't have the main ingredients. And Akashi scolded his employees for not expanding the business, and the next decision was to open more restaurants and try to expand the business to the Earth Kingdom.
In fact, he told them to buy most of the farming lands from Ba Sing Se, since it was going to get very cheap soon, given the war that was going on.
After the eting was over, Akashi was left alone, and he laughed his heart out.
"Man. I can't believe it. All I have is to yell at them to do things, and they hurry to do them…." Akashi raised his head, opened his eyes widely, and dropped his jaw. "Shit. Forgot to visit Lin."
And so, Akashi left his company. The first thing he did was buying new clothes. You know, getting a larger muscle mass ant that all of his old clothes wouldn't fit him.
And for the first ti in a long ti, Akashi started looking like a rich man. And just to feel good about it, he got himself a private driver.
Sitting in the back of his car and looking at the window, Akashi mused to himself.
Despite reaching a high level where traveling fast was too easy, why did he need to ride cars anymore. If there was a reason, it felt comfortable.
Anyways, Akashi got to the police departnt. His previous colleagues told him that the chief was waiting for him, and he concluded that she had soone who told her about him.
As he stood in front of her office door, it opened on its own, revealing Lin in a bikini, with all of her glory.
"Missed ?" she asked, sitting on the table and crossing her legs for him.
"You have no idea." Akashi smirked. After suffering for less than half an hour every three days with Korra, Akashi ca to appreciate Lin's stamina even more. Though, she was for a surprise.
He got in, and she tapped her foot on the ground, making the tal door close behind her.
"We're not going to catch up?" he asked, seeing her stand up and ready for action.
"Hmmm. As if there is sothing else you would love to talk about," she replied, wrapped her arms around his back and pulling him for a kiss and a hug. This ti, since there was no tal armor, Akashi loved this hug, with her large lons hitting against his chest.
And needless to say, for the rest of the 6 hours, the police force's highest leadership was out of work, especially the task force.
But in truth, it was thanks to Amon that they could enjoy such a luxury, as most of the criminals and gangsters had lost their bending power.
Well, mostly, thanks to Akashi, who pointed at them.
"See you by the morning," Lin said as she kissed Akashi on his way out.
He laughed and said, "Thought you would say next week or sothing."
Lin put her hands on her arms, "I don't know what happened to your body recently," she checked on him, "Not complaining about good things. But I'm not so weakling who starts complaining about pain fifteen minutes later."
"Surely, you are not." Akashi replied, stretching his arms up. "Anyway, See you later."
And just as he walked out, the door closed. Thanks to his wavesbending, he could see what happened inside the room. Lin just collapsed on her desk, arms on her chest.
"Can't believe I can't keep up with him." she muttered to herself. "Maybe he just missed and it's one day thing."
Akashi chuckled and left to the departnts below, going through his previous departnt on the way.
And there, he saw sothing that made him take pause.
Asami was there.
But she didn't look as bright as always. Her eyes were swollen, hair ssy, and she hadn't even changed her clothes.
Seeing him, she rushed to him, holding him from the chest.
"What happened?" Akashi asked.
"My father. He's been missing for a whole five days. He's been kidnapped, I can tell!" she urged, "Please… find him."
