When the two retreated to the other end of the carriage, the Ox Shield had already cracked with a long vertical fissure. The car-slaughtering monster threw its head back and charged forward, but was intercepted by the item threads Xu Huo had pre-arranged inside the carriage. Those item threads were hooked onto tables and chairs, densely crisscrossing the aisle. With the car-slaughtering monster charging blindly like this, it imdiately pulled the tables and chairs on both sides towards itself!
A gun that can fire bullets is powerful, but the person holding it cannot guarantee every shot hits the target. The sa principle applies to items. As long as the user's speed cannot keep up with the car-slaughtering monster, small-scale, targeted items find it difficult to exert their full power. Therefore, Xu Huo's move wasn't to trap the car-slaughtering monster, but to slow it down!
The Tangle-Free Thread did achieve so effect, but the car-slaughtering monster paid it no mind. It kicked the tables and chairs that had followed behind it away, then turned its head to grab at Xu Huo and the other man!
"You're no match for it!" At this mont, the Large Man pushed Xu Huo back, pulling out a flathrower and blasting the oncoming car-slaughtering monster with fire.
"Boom! Boom!" Amidst the flas, only two sharp, rapid sounds could be heard echoing from the left and right sides of the carriage. The next second, the car-slaughtering monster had already broken free from the item threads' restraint and retreated to the front door of the sixth carriage!
Several injured Suited n had been waiting for it. They were already in the fifth carriage. When the car-slaughtering monster entered the connecting carriage, one of them threw out a Bell. That Bell bounced off the ground and the carriage walls. Its sound wasn't loud, yet it seed to completely capture the car-slaughtering monster's attention.
At this mont, another man wearing gloves clenched his fist beside the carriage door. The entire surface of the connecting carriage sprouted a layer of thick tal skin. That tal skin wrapped around the car-slaughtering monster like a stead bun filling. A third Suited Man then acted. A long needle threaded with surgical suture automatically weaved across the tal skin, firmly stitching the several tal pieces together!
The Suited n cooperated with seamless coordination. Even after trapping the car-slaughtering monster, they didn't let their guard down. Two more n used their own items to reinforce the structure from the outside. Only after confirming it couldn't break out did they stop their actions.
The Large Man had already taken a potion, and the injury on his hand showed obvious improvent. He turned to look at Xu Huo, "Do you know that player with the leather suitcase?"
"No, I don't," Xu Huo replied.
The Large Man nodded without saying more, quickly stepping forward to direct the Suited n to capture the Infant Child outside the train.
That Infant Child was easier to deal with than the car-slaughtering monster. Although ferocious, it was like a young beast unwilling to leave its mother, lingering constantly around the car-slaughtering monster. It was soon captured by the Suited n using a cage. After being injected with a dose from a syringe, it fell into a deep sleep.
The lighting tools carried by the Suited n lit up again.
"Can Mutants even have children?" Only then did the players who had taken refuge in the front carriages co closer.
The Suited n, of course, wouldn't pay them any attention. Although the car-slaughtering monster was now trapped, it couldn't be moved for the ti being, so they could only guard it until the train reached the station.
"There's reproductive isolation between Mutants;
it's very difficult for them to naturally produce offspring." The one who answered was the elderly man originally from the sixth carriage. He said, "After Evolvers degenerate, they more or less exhibit animal characteristics. There's reproductive isolation between different species, and Mutants possessing so animal characteristics are the sa. So unless it's man-made, the chance of Mutants reproducing is almost zero. It's said they don't even have the impulse."
"So this was done by people?" a short player asked, surprised and with difficulty, "People can even sleep with Mutants?"
These words made everyone present, including Xu Huo, involuntarily look over at him. The elderly man said irritably, "Of course it's using Mutants and Mutants for experints!"
"That's just too inhuman," the Female Player said, crossing her arms. She glanced at the Infant Child in the cage and then entered the carriage to rest.
Due to the earlier commotion, aside from the fourth carriage which suffered heavier casualties, players from the third carriage either stayed in their own carriage or went to the first and second carriages ahead. Players from the fifth carriage also didn't rashly leave, instead crowding together with players from the two carriages behind. They had all witnessed the battle between the Suited n and the car-slaughtering monster.
After inspecting the car-slaughtering monster's "cage," the Large Man brought two Suited n to the sixth carriage. Closing the door, he pointed to the righted seats, gesturing for them to sit.
Xu Huo complied readily. The Large Man sat down opposite him and imdiately said, "I'm very grateful for your help just now."
"No need to be polite. Even if I hadn't helped, you wouldn't have been in danger," Xu Huo said, understanding he wasn't sincerely here to thank him. He proactively brought it up, "You still want to ask about that player with the suitcase?"
"I don't know him. It's just that after the car-slaughtering monster appeared, when I was in the sa carriage with him, I discovered he secretly released the child," he said. "That child was clearly abnormal. After I ruined his plans, he targeted , even thinking I was from the Purification Squad."
The Large Man's expression remained unchanged, but the two Suited n behind him looked slightly displeased.
"The Purification Squad is a malicious term used by anti-governnt criminals to refer to our Track Supply Departnt," the Large Man said, extending his hand. "Let's get acquainted. Shi Youzhi, Captain of the First Brigade under the Track Supply Departnt of Garden Castle Station."
"Xu Huo," Xu Huo said, shaking his hand.
"The Track Supply Departnt mainly handles ergencies on dinsional trains. For example, the three carriages you just ergency-detached will need our personnel to recover them afterwards. Before that, no other trains can run on this line," Shi Youzhi said.
Xu Huo felt slightly apologetic, "I've caused you trouble."
Shi Youzhi, however, smiled and said, "It's rare to encounter a player willing to lend a hand to strangers. You also acted to help the train escape the blood mutant."
Xu Huo nodded, not asking further about the car-slaughtering monster.
Shi Youzhi then asked him where he was getting off. Upon learning he was heading to Garden Castle Station, he said, "Perfect, since you're also going there. After arriving at the station, I hope you can cooperate and write a record for our personnel."
"Can't it be done on the train?" Xu Huo asked.
Shi Youzhi said, "The record isn't done by my people. But don't worry, it won't delay your matters. You can go do your dungeon first and then contact ."
After saying this, he gave him a code and a communication tool with a futuristic feel. "As long as you're within the boundaries of Garden Castle Station, this communicator can reach ."
Xu Huo accepted the snowflake-shaped crystal chip communicator. After a mont's hesitation, he agreed.
Thereafter, neither side spoke further.
After daybreak, players disembarked one after another. By dusk, the train arrived at Garden Castle Station.
Unlike the previous disembarkation points which were desolate places, this ti the train had a dedicated station.
After the train stopped, Shi Youzhi and the other Suited n quickly worked with the station personnel to transport away the car-slaughtering monster and the Infant Child. Xu Huo walked out of the bustling station, and his eyes were t with a city brimming with a sense of technology.
Buildings constructed from special materials stood tall throughout the city. Although there were wide roads on the ground, most ans of transportation were aerial vehicles: freely flipping fast cars, low-altitude hovering skateboards, and even mobile shopping stores flowing through the air.
