Chapter 197: Chapter 197 If I Marry Anyone It Will Be You

SOPHIA’S POV

The fortune-teller’s words stayed with

even after we walked away.

I tried to ignore them, but they kept echoing in my mind.

How did she know so much about ?

Even my wolf was a bit shaken. I couldn’t believe what just happened. It scared

how accurate she was. What the hell?

The night market was still lively around us. People kept laughing and talking like nothing had changed, but for , everything felt different. I could feel Zade walking beside

but I didn’t look at him right away.

My fingers moved unconsciously to the necklace on my collarbone. It felt warr now. I wasn’t sure if it was just my imagination or sothing else entirely.

Either way, it made my thoughts even more ssed up.

“What are you thinking about?” Zade asked suddenly.

“Nothing,” I replied quickly.

It was a lie, and I knew he could tell.

Zade stopped walking.

I slowed down too, turning to face him. His eyes were fixed on

and the way he looked at

intensely made my heart race faster.

“That woman’s words got to you,” he said, tilting his head “What did she say?”

I let out a small breath “It’s just nonsense. You shouldn’t take it seriously.”

“Then why are you thinking about it?”

I hesitated.

He was right. I couldn’t deny it, but I also couldn’t admit the truth so easily. The idea that what she said could an sothing real... it scared

more than I wanted to admit. I couldn’t tell him what she told .

So, I did the only thing I could think of. I lied.

“She didn’t just say that,” I said slowly.

Zade’s expression shifted slightly. “What else did she say?”

I forced myself to et his eyes. My chest felt tight. “She said... that I would bring harm to my husband.”

The words felt heavy the mont they left my mouth.

For a second, Zade didn’t react. His expression remained unreadable. That made my heart beat faster.

“I didn’t want to say it earlier,” I continued, looking at the ground. “It sounded ridiculous, and I didn’t want to make it a big deal.”

I expected him to laugh it off. I expected him to dismiss it completely but he didn’t.

Instead, he stepped closer.

“So that’s what you’re worried about?” he asked.

I didn’t answer.

Zade studied

for a mont, then shook his head

“That’s not a reason to avoid anything,” he said.

I frowned. “You don’t understand. What if it’s true? What if-”

“It won’t be,” he cut in firmly.

I looked up at him. I was surprised by how certain he sounded.

“You’re taking sothing random and letting it control you,” he continued. “That’s not like you.”

I shook my head “It’s not about that. It’s just... what if I hurt soone without aning to?”

Zade didn’t hesitate “Then I’ll take it,”

The words hit

harder than I expected. I looked at him in shock. He was still willing to be with

even though it could put him in harm’s way?

“What?” I breathed.

“If there’s any harm, I’ll take it,” he repeated. “It doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change how I feel about you”

I stared at him, unable to process what he was saying.

“You’re not serious,” I said.

“I am,”

“Zade, this isn’t sothing you can just brush off,” I shook my head “We’re talking about-”

“I know exactly what we’re talking about,” he interrupted. “And it doesn’t matter.”

I felt my chest tighten again, but this ti for a different reason.

“Why?” I asked softly. “Why would you say sothing like that so easily?”

Zade didn’t look away. He looked

straight in the eyes as he spoke “Because I’ve already decided,”

“Decided what?” I asked, even though part of

already knew.

“That if I marry anyone,” he said slowly, “it will be you.”

The world seed to go quiet for a second. It felt like the air left my lungs. For a mont, it felt like I couldn’t breathe.

I couldn’t speak. Hell, I didn’t know what to say.

“You can bring

harm, bad luck, anything,” he continued calmly. “It doesn’t change my decision.”

My heart started racing again, but not from fear this ti.

“Zade...” I started, but I didn’t know what to say.

Before I could find the words, my phone suddenly rang. The sound cut through the mont, pulling

back to reality.

I blinked then quickly reached for it. My hands shook a bit as I looked at the screen.

Franca.

I started to panic. I answered imdiately.

“Hello?”

“Miss Sophia!” Franca’s voice ca through. Her tone wasurgent. “You need to co back right now!”

My heart dropped instantly. “What happened?”

“It’s Ashley,” she said quickly. “She has a high fever - 104 degrees. She’s not responding well. You need to co imdiately!”

Everything inside

froze. Panic gripped

hard.

“104?” I repeated.

“Yes. She’s burning up. We don’t know what to do!”

“I’m coming,” I said quickly. “Stay with her. Don’t leave her alone.”

I ended the call imdiately. My mind was already racing. My poor baby was sick again.

“What happened?” Zade asked.

“Ashley,” I said. “She has a high fever. It’s serious.”

Without another word, I turned and started walking quickly. I was almost running.

“I need to find Damien,” I said, more to myself than to him.

Zade didn’t stop . He followed closely behind.

We moved through the crowd quickly. As I walked, my eyes kept scanning for Damien. My heart pounded harder with every second that passed.

Then I saw him. He was standing not far from the river, with Tiffany beside him.

I walked straight toward him.

“Damien,” I called out.

He turned imdiately. “What is it?”

“Ashley,” I said quickly. “She has a high fever. It’s 104. Franca said it’s serious.”

His face changed instantly. “What?”

“She’s not responding well,” I added. “We need to go back now.”

Damien didn’t waste another second. “Let’s go,”

As soon as he said that, he was already moving.

Tiffany looked surprised.

“What happened?” she asked. Her voice was filled with concern.

“Ashley is sick,” Damien replied quickly. “We’re going back.”

He didn’t wait for anything else.

I followed him imdiately. My mind was just focused on one thing - getting back as fast as possible.

Behind us, Zade stopped. He watched as we left but he didn’t follow.

THIRD PERSON’S POV

For a mont, Zade stood there alone, watching as Sophia walked away with Damien.

Then soone approached.

“Tough night?” Tiffany’s voice ca from behind him.

Zade turned slightly. He didn’t say anything.

Tiffany walked closer. “You didn’t go with them,”

Zade looked at her briefly. “They don’t need

there right now”

Tiffany tilted her head slightly, studying him. “You care about her a lot,”

Zade didn’t deny it.

“Yes,” he replied.

Tiffany smiled. “You’re very direct. I like that.”

Zade didn’t respond.

She stepped a little closer. “But you should be careful. Things aren’t always as simple as they seem, especially with Sophia”

Zade looked at her “They are for ,”

“You’re confident,”.

Zade’s expression didn’t change.

“Sophia is the only one in my heart,” he said bluntly.

There was no hesitation, no doubt.

Tiffany’s smile faded for just a second, but she quickly recovered. She didn’t expect Zade to say those words.

“That’s... admirable,” she said softly.

Zade didn’t respond. The air between them felt tense.

Tiffany wondered why soone like Zade would be crazy over Sophia.
