Chapter 42

Inside Rain Dinners.

"Big! Big! Big!"

"Small! Small! Small!"

The lively atmosphere around the gambling tables was nonstop.

Rorschach, dressed in a sharp suit with a cigarette in his mouth, looked every bit the handso young noble. His refined aura drew attention as he lounged with Karina and Nami in his arms, while Vivi, Reiju, and Mikita followed behind. He looked exactly like so kingdom’s young aristocrat out for fun.

He casually tossed a few high-value chips onto the "Big" side of the table.

Karina and Nami relaxed comfortably against him. They were really starting to enjoy gambling — the money ca even faster than robbery.

When they first entered Rain Dinners, Rorschach had exchanged just 10,000 berries for a single chip. Then he started saying all kinds of strange things to Nami and the others.

He claid that back in his previous life, Chen Daozai won 37 million with just 20 bucks. Today, he, Rorschach, was going to use this 10,000 berries to clean out the entire Rain Dinners. Sound fair?

Although Nami and the others didn’t understand half of what he was saying, they got the main point.

Rorschach planned to use that asly 10,000 berries to bankrupt Crocodile’s casino and force the Warlord to show himself.

Now the table was piled with countless chips — so many that Rorschach had started stacking them on the floor.

Since he wasn’t familiar with most gambling gas, he stuck to the simplest one: betting Big or Small.

It was also the easiest to cheat at. With Observation Haki, he could see exactly how the dice were rolling.

The dealers had already been changed several tis — starting with normal staff and moving on to professional cheaters.

Every ti a dealer tried to rig the ga, Rorschach used Conqueror’s Haki to precisely adjust the dice points right before they were revealed.

The current dealer was sweating buckets, his hands shaking as he lifted the dice cup.

"Big."

He announced the result with a trembling voice.

So people cheered, others groaned. Most of the gamblers at the table had followed Rorschach’s bets. Only a few stubborn ones bet the opposite.

The dealer’s face went deathly pale. His eyes rolled back, and he finally collapsed from the pressure.

"Tch, and he called himself a gambling expert? Pathetic," Rorschach sneered, not even bothering to look.

Tap tap tap.

Footsteps approached. A bald, muscular man stopped a short distance behind Rorschach and spoke in a flat, emotionless tone.

"Our boss wants to see you."

The speaker was Baroque Works’ top assassin, Mr. 1 — Daz Bones.

The gamblers nearby sensed the shift in atmosphere. Realizing sothing was wrong, they quickly fled Rain Dinners.

They knew the owner of this casino was Alabasta’s hero, Crocodile.

This young man must have used so unknown trick to cheat. Now he’d been caught by Crocodile.

As they left, the gamblers secretly guessed Rorschach’s fate. Anyone bold enough to openly oppose a Warlord was already dead!

But that was no longer their concern. At least they wouldn’t have to watch a Warlord fight. Better to escape with their lives.

"Oh? What if I don’t want to go?" Rorschach asked with a half-smile, looking at Daz Bones.

Daz didn’t answer. Instead, he turned to Mikita and said coldly,

"So this is your choice?"

Mikita shivered, but she forced herself to stay strong and shot back,

"You people will never understand Captain Rorschach’s power. I suggest you surrender now."

"I see. Since you’ve chosen betrayal, you should be prepared for Baroque Works to settle the score," Daz said calmly.

His hands and elbows slowly transford into sharp blades.

By now, all the custors had fled Rain Dinners. Only the casino guards, Daz, and Rorschach’s group remained.

"Then I’ll start with you," Daz said, charging forward with a blade-hand strike aid at Mikita.

"Uwaaaaah! Captain Rorschach, save !" Mikita scread, dropping into a defensive crouch.

Clang!

Just five centiters from Mikita, Daz’s strike was stopped by a transparent barrier.

"Hm? A Devil Fruit user," Daz said, imdiately recognizing the barrier as Karina’s work.

Right before the attack, Rorschach had patted Karina. She understood instantly, stood up, and ford the hand sign. The barrier appeared in front of Mikita.

"You really think bringing these people will stop us?" Daz said flatly.

As a seasoned underground assassin, he had faced countless Devil Fruit users before.

He was confident he could defeat the people in front of him.

Suddenly, arms made of flower petals sprouted on Karina’s body and forcefully broke her hand sign. The barrier vanished.

"Hehe, wanting to oppose Baroque Works... and trying to save your country, Princess," a voice said.

A figure sat on the second-floor railing. It was Nico Robin.

Robin rested her cheek on her hand, watching the group below with interest.

"Just a few people daring to invade Baroque Works’ headquarters? How foolish," said Mr. 3 — Galdino, adjusting his glasses as he walked down from upstairs. His hair was styled in a "3" shape.

"So courageous, yooo Very impressive, yoooo" Mr. 2 — Bon Clay danced over in his swan coat and ballet-like outfit.

All the officers from Mr. 4 and above, along with their partners, had now appeared inside Rain Dinners, surrounding Rorschach’s group.

Vivi took a nervous step back but gritted her teeth and faced the Baroque Works agents head-on.

Rorschach, however, was distracted by the system notification.

[Ding! Detectable recruitable crewmate.]

[Nico Robin]

[Strength: E]

[Speed: E]

[Spirit: D]

[Skill: Text Mastery (Can read the text on Poneglyphs)]

[Devil Fruit: Flower-Flower Fruit (C-)]

[Talent: Archaeologist]

[Evaluation: The woman who possesses the power to "overturn the world."]

Not bad stats. Thanks to years of solo developnt, her Flower-Flower Fruit had already reached C- rank.

Her high Spirit was probably from long-term fruit usage experience. The other stats were average, but her skill and talent were truly unique.

"So you’re the recently famous East Blue’s strongest bounty hunter, Rorschach," Robin said, clearly interested.

She couldn’t understand what gave this man the confidence to stay so calm.

Although she had seen his strength in Whiskey Peak, it still wasn’t enough to defeat Crocodile.

"This is getting interesting," Robin smiled mysteriously as she looked down at the group.
