The two continued forward for a while.
Daniel’s teeth chattered, trembling as he said, "How can it be... so cold?"
Yang Fan replied, "We’re getting close to the core area."
He paused and continued, "The basic laws here have undergone new changes."
Daniel was frozen to the point of having a bruised nose and swollen face, with no interest in the basic laws. "Mr. Ghost, can you give a piece of clothing to ward off the cold?"
Yang Fan seed not to hear, and continued talking to himself, "The freezing point of water on Canglan Star is zero degrees. I feel it’s not zero degrees here."
He moved his right hand slightly.
A glob of clear water appeared out of thin air, with a thermoter in it, just floating in midair.
Under the erosion of severe cold, the water began to freeze rapidly.
Yang Fan glanced at the thermoter, "The freezing point has beco minus 10.5 degrees. This is truly interesting."
Daniel was sowhat distracted, shivering as he comnted, "This is too unscientific."
He imdiately pleaded again, "Mr. Ghost, can you give a piece of clothing?"
Yang Fan retorted, "You incited so many Shapudian people to make trouble. Do you think I would give you clothing?"
Daniel, emboldened, dared to retort, "You killed them. I didn’t do anything to them!"
Yang Fan smiled faintly, "As expected, you Carnians always turn a blind eye to your own mistakes."
Daniel had the nerve to provoke, "You are a demon with bloodstained hands."
Yang Fan shook his head, "Provoking is useless. I won’t kill you now. Let’s move on."
Daniel seed to have a rebellious mindset and stood still, not moving.
Yang Fan calmly said, "You have two choices now. The first is to walk over by yourself.
"The second is for to use a secret technique to turn you into a puppet, where you stab yourself with a small knife and hop over on one leg.
"Though you beco a puppet, your consciousness still belongs to you, but your body will be uncontrollable.
"Believe , no matter how you cut yourself, or even stab yourself, you won’t pass out."
Daniel shivered, "I’ll walk!"
He couldn’t help but add, "You’re scarier than a demon."
Yang Fan politely replied, "Thank you!"
Daniel, enduring the severe cold, resud walking.
Ten minutes later.
Daniel made another fuss, "Mr. Ghost, my feet have lost feeling."
Yang Fan showed a bit of impatience, and coldly said, "That’s your own business. Move faster!"
Daniel’s face was flushed, showing signs of a high fever, "I... I really can’t walk anymore."
Yang Fan thought for a mont and decided to help him.
He raised a finger, pointing remotely at Daniel.
Daniel only felt a surge of warmth rising within him, instantly dispelling the chill and making him feel extrely invigorated.
He was montarily stunned, realizing this was another miraculous thod of the Great Xia Ghost.
Daniel curiously asked, "What did you do to just now?"
Yang Fan replied, "I activated your life’s potential."
Daniel realized, "So that’s it."
He rembered sothing and pursued, "And the cost?"
Yang Fan softly said, "Even if you survive, you will only live for about ten more years at most."
Daniel was unsurprised, only saying, "This is a demon’s thod."
Yang Fan appeared indifferent.
Daniel flexed his limbs, feeling the abundant energy, and added, "No wonder so many people long for demons."
Yang Fan urged, "Let’s go."
Daniel obediently resud walking.
A few more minutes passed.
The two climbed over a small hill.
A small valley appeared ahead.
Daniel imdiately saw a strange sight.
Vast ripples of water, appearing both real and illusory, filled the valley.
Oddly shaped ice blocks floated on the ripples.
Most bizarre of all, the ripples emitted a faint glow, strikingly visible in the night.
"Splash~"
The sound of waves was heard.
As if it was ringing in the ears or echoing in the mind.
Daniel subconsciously stopped in his tracks.
Although there were still hundreds of ters between him and the ripples, he instinctively felt deadly danger ahead.
Yang Fan sighed lightly, "Just as expected."
With the previous changes in laws, he had already guessed what was influencing this region.
The current scene confird his suspicions.
Daniel pointed ahead and asked, "Mr. Ghost, what is that thing?"
Yang Fan answered, "This is the core area."
Daniel was dissatisfied with the answer, "If you want to go in, I think I should know so information about this place."
Yang Fan thought for a mont and said, "Alright."
He began narrating, "In the Primordial World, there is a place called the ’Cold Abyss’, which you can think of as an extrely cold Ice Sea.
"For so unknown reason, the power of the Cold Abyss affected Canglan Star, so an ice lake appeared here."
The so-called "Cold Abyss" is essentially the Ice Sea surrounding the Celestial Pillar Icefield.
When the extre cold fog disaster broke out in Linjiang City, he knew the Cold Abyss would sooner or later affect Canglan Star.
The Cold Abyss is hundreds of tis larger than the Celestial Pillar Icefield, with the latter being rely an island in the Ice Sea.
Therefore, the disaster the Cold Abyss would bring to Canglan Star would surely greatly exceed that of the Celestial Pillar Icefield.
Daniel responded, "Oh, Mr. Ghost, you really know a lot."
Gazing at the ice lake, he added, "I feel this ice lake is weird, not like the ice lakes from my holand."
Yang Fan nodded, "This is not a real ice lake; it’s a projection of power from the Cold Abyss."
He didn’t tell Daniel that although this is an illusory ice lake, in a certain sense, it’s more real than a real one.
Daniel shrugged, "It’s truly incredible. The world is getting stranger and stranger."
He then asked, "Mr. Ghost, there should be creatures in the ice lake, right?"
Yang Fan was noncommittal, "There might be."
Daniel was straightforward, "You brought here to attract the creatures in the ice lake, right? I’ll go first."
He said that and quickly moved toward the illusory ice lake ahead.
Yang Fan watched Daniel’s back, his eyes filled with a coldness.
Daniel walked a dozen ters, suddenly using all his strength, he laughed wildly, "Monsters, your granddaddy is here!"
His voice echoed throughout the valley, slightly breaking from the strain.
Yang Fan’s mouth curled slightly.
He knew very well, Daniel wanted to lure the monster over, hoping it would kill the Great Xia Ghost.
This was the only revenge thod Daniel could think of.
He felt a bit of emotion in his heart: "In the minds of many Canglan People, I probably am the biggest villain."
"Monsters, co lick Grandpa’s Dick!"
Daniel was still shouting and cursing frantically.
Yang Fan didn’t stop him, just let it be.
Soon.
With a heroic resolve to sacrifice himself for the greater good, Daniel walked to the Illusory Ice Lake.
"Splash~"
The waves continued to ripple.
Daniel could even feel a little extrely cold lake water splashing onto the cuff of his pants.
And as the skin pressed against the pants, one could feel this chill to the marrow.
Clearly it looked illusory, but it produced an extrely real feeling, exactly as the Great Xia Ghost described.
This made him increasingly amazed.
Daniel hesitated for a mont, then changed direction and took a step along the shore.
Just then.
A voice drifted over: "Go into the water."
Daniel’s expression remained unchanged, in his heart he cursed the Great Xia Ghost with the most venomous language, and stepped toward the lake.
"Splash!"
His right foot stepped onto the waves.
Daniel felt the icy water soak into his shoe, his right foot instantly numbed from the cold.
Unable to feel pain, nor sensing the cold, it was as if it wasn’t his own foot, barely able to control its movent.
He gritted his teeth tightly, inching forward step by step.
He felt he was progressing toward death.
A few more steps.
The icy water subrged up to Daniel’s waist.
He felt he was about to die.
"You damned monsters, would you just hide at ho like quails calling for mommy?"
Daniel’s expression grew increasingly frantic.
As soon as the words were spoken.
"Thump!"
A dull sound echoed from the distant water surface.
Daniel jumped violently, fear overwhelming his heart.
The monster had finally arrived!
Yet, there was still a hint of delight in his heart, he yelled crazily internally: "Mr. Monster, go kill the Great Xia Ghost!"
After a mont.
A thick, dark shadow surfaced tens of ters away.
This was unmistakably a segnt of a tentacle.
This was truly a nightmare-inducing scene.
The tentacle’s diater reached a staggering five ters, covered with sharp barbs, with small holes around each barb.
The owner of the tentacle undoubtedly belonged to a gargantuan horrifying monster.
Additionally.
This segnt of tentacle, like the lake water, gave off an aura of unreality, an illusory sense.
Daniel, suppressing his fear, forcefully waved his right hand: "You damned monster, co at Grandpa!"
The tentacle seemingly heard his voice, quickly moving towards him.
Due to its massive size and trendous speed, the tentacle stirred up tumultuous waves as it skimd the water.
"Splash!"
The sound of the waves grew louder.
Daniel dared not look anymore, tightly shutting his eyes, awaiting death’s arrival.
Two seconds later.
This guy suddenly felt an extrely odd sensation.
He couldn’t quite put a finger on the feeling, he just knew sothing felt fundantally wrong with his entire body.
Instinctively, Daniel opened his eyes, witnessing a startlingly horrifying sight.
Terrorizing him, the surface of the tentacle had split open a gigantic mouth, filled with rows of dense white sharp teeth.
The tentacle lunged at him, its huge mouth viciously took a bite.
"Ah~"
Daniel was so frightened he nearly wet himself, unintentionally letting out a scream.
However.
The creature did not die.
The next mont.
The two passed by each other.
Daniel remained standing in place.
The tentacle passed through his body like a phantom.
Daniel froze, finally realizing the monster couldn’t eat him.
On the other side.
Yang Fan muttered, "Actually ran into the Cold Abyss Giant Demon," then snapped his finger.
"Snap!"
A wondrous scene unfolded.
Layer upon layer of ripples suddenly appeared around Daniel.
Daniel imdiately noticed the lake water’s illusory feeling was rapidly fading, replaced by an increasingly strong sense of realism.
He was on the verge of madness, desperately turning back toward the shore.
However.
After turning around, Daniel was dumbfounded.
The previous scene was gone.
The accursed Great Xia Ghost had disappeared too.
A gigantic iceberg appeared ahead, visually estimated to be over a dozen tis larger than a hundred-thousand-ton aircraft carrier.
Daniel roared, "Great Xia Ghost, I will curse you forever!"
This guy wasn’t a fool, he naturally knew this was the doing of the Great Xia Ghost; he had been sent to the world of monsters.
"Boom!"
A giant wave sound arose.
Daniel only felt intense pain throughout his body, like being run over by a huge truck.
He was swallowed whole by the monster.
