Chapter 98: Provocation
Ye Jun possessed two types of mind. A cold, rational one and an emotional one. Most of the ti, they worked together to face troubles. Now, he was in a situation like that.
His rational mind took a backseat while allowing the emotional one to have so fun. All because it was making plans and considering everything in the picture.
Even though he seed impulsive, it was a calculated move.
He stood ahead of the new recruits, looking at Feng Hui with a challenging look in his eyes. There was no way his emotional side was going to bend to others’ whims.
"Haha! Aren’t you quite arrogant?" Feng Hui laughed. "But Junior Brother, everyone here knows you’re just a pretty face hiding in your woman’s shadow."
"Tell
how that’s a bad thing," Ye Jun demanded. "If I can convince soone like Song Liangxue to love and marry , that’s my capability. It’s not my fault so many of you can’t do it."
Others were speechless hearing his words, even his friends. How was he so shalessly admitting to being a pretty boy relying on his woman?
One had to know that in this world, it was a sha. Yet this man was proud of it. Heck, he was smiling so much.
"You misunderstand. It’s because we have dignity and self-respect, so we rely on ourselves unlike you," Feng Hui said, barely containing his urge to throw a sword at him. "If we wanted to, we could also seduce many won."
"Please, Senior Brother. You shouldn’t be that delusional," Ye Jun waved his hand and said. "No one here has a handso face like , not even close. All of you seem like the product of a miscarriage. None of you can achieve this."
The hostile aura from the seniors grew as even the new recruits made distance from Ye Jun, wondering if he had so screw loose to offend everyone together.
"Such arrogance!" Feng Hui took a deep breath to calm himself and said. "Can you even back it up? Or do you only know how to run your mouth?"
"That running mouth got
a beautiful and powerful wife, so yes, it’s certainly my best weapon," Ye Jun grinned at him.
ihui facepald while Mountain laughed loudly. Only Song Liangxue had an amused look on her face. Although they were confused by his actions, they knew he didn’t have an upbringing to be this reckless, impulsive, and undeservedly arrogant.
"Very well. I’ve been trying to be a benevolent Senior Brother to you all, but clearly you need a reality check," Feng Hui said, staring deeply at Ye Jun. "You will face the consequences. From here on, you are cursed because you disrespected the traditions."
Everyone sucked in a deep breath. There had been encounters where people behaved arrogantly and tried to defy the seniors, but they were put down quickly.
It had been years since anyone was truly cursed. A vicious look appeared in their eyes as they felt happy to finally have a lamb to slaughter. Their jealousy fueled their emotions further.
Ye Jun glanced at everyone and smiled. ’It’s working. You dumbwits really need just a bit of provocation to get hot and bothered. Pent-up heat?’
He turned back to Feng Hui and said, "I broke traditions? Was this set up by the Elders? I’m pretty sure not."
"No. But it was set by the senior disciples who knew better than you," Feng Hui shook his head. "You are far too arrogant for your own good and as the tradition says, we need to humble the new recruits. And that’s what I’ll do, one way or another."
Ye Jun crossed his arms, waiting for more.
"Since you don’t care about following traditions, we’ll do it differently," Feng Hui said. "Anyone who wants to challenge our dear new recruit?"
Many raised their hands, though all ca from the senior disciples. Sensing the threat from them, Ye Jun cursed inwardly. ’Damnation! All of them are more powerful than .’
He didn’t let it show though.
"Alright, Lin Xuan!" Feng Hui chose another senior disciple as the young man ca to the central arena. "Ranked 405th in the Tempest Gale Rankings."
He turned towards Ye Jun and said, "Do you have any objection?"
"Of course, I have," Ye Jun spoke as if it was too obvious. "Are you dumb? Why would I accept this challenge?"
The field turned silent. For so reason, they didn’t even consider it. Not accepting a challenge openly like this was certainly a humiliation, but they had already seen his shalessness.
They really should have expected this from him.
"Because it’s a matter of dignity," Lin Xuan pointed his sword tip at him and said in a heavy voice. "I don’t think you deserve soone like Miss Song. You definitely pulled so underhanded tricks. So co here and prove you deserve her. Prove that you’re a man."
Feng Hui nodded in happiness. He was glad Lin Xuan found good points to attack. A man couldn’t sit back after these words. It might even affect their Dao heart.
Unfortunately, he still underestimated Ye Jun’s shalessness.
"Hmm, I don’t think I’ve seen you before," Ye Jun said, looking him up and down. "Are you her brother?"
Lin Xuan felt annoyance rise inside him. "What are you blabbering on? I’m not her brother!"
"Then perhaps, her mother?" Ye Jun asked innocently, then turned to look back at Song Liangxue. "Do you know him, dear?"
"First ti seeing his face," Song Liangxue replied flatly. "And my clan keeps contact with good people."
"And there you have it," Ye Jun smiled widely. "You aren’t related to her at all."
"What the hell does this even an?" Lin Xuan roared, especially after hearing that comnt from Song Liangxue. "If you are of one father, then co here and fight , you coward."
"Ah! Unfortunately, I only have one father," Ye Jun shook his head and took a step forward.
His entire deanor changed as a cruel look appeared in his eyes. "You’re a nobody, a random kid of so random family. Why should I prove anything to mutts like you? You don’t deserve it."
