Chapter 67: The Reason For Living

The relief of knowing that he was back made Ye Jun so relaxed that he almost stumbled in exhaustion. He didn’t even realize how scared he had been because of everything he saw.

Noticing his how sweaty his palms, he thought, ’But why? I’ve already died once, and it didn’t affect

in any way. Why should I care if I’m dying again?’

Just then, soone collided with his chest, throwing him off balance as both of them fell down. He blinked in surprise and looked down, only to see ihui hugging him tightly, her head resting on his chest.

Before he could say anything, he heard her cold voice. "Shut up! Don’t speak until I say so."

’So unreasonable.’ Ye Jun sighed and hugged her back.

Her warmth seed to heal his wounds as he smiled. ’I guess I have weaknesses now. I have reasons to fear my death.’

And he was hugging that reason.

He found it surprising how it didn’t bother him at all that he now had a weakness. Once, he would have been worried about it and even tried to eliminate it.

But now, he felt happy knowing it. He felt content.

’Fortunately, the world isn’t ending yet.’

He looked down at her and caressed her head. ’Don’t worry. I will beco strong and protect you. I won’t let anyone take you away from . Not this ti. It won’t happen again.’

He swore it silently.

Then the warmth vanished as ihui scrambled out of his embrace and stood up. She straightened her robes and said, eyeing him coldly, "Don’t ntion this ever again, or I’ll kill you with my own hands."

’Can you even do that?’ he wanted to tease her, but seeing how the tips of her ears were turning red, he stayed silent and nodded.

"Good!" ihui looked down at him and furrowed her brows. "You really had

worried. What even happened in there?"

"Nothing much," Ye Jun answered as he stood up. "We reached the Burial Chamber after a series of exciting adventures. There, we had a little competition which left only

and Ye Chen."

"So you did fight him," ihui muttered, not really surprised. "We saw Ye Chen being dumped before the cave, likely from an Escape Talisman. His state... you really didn’t hold back."

Ye Jun’s face fell slightly. "I actually wanted to do more, but he escaped. Well, no worries. It just ans I can do it again."

ihui smiled and tapped her palm over her wrist.

"What are you doing?" he asked in confusion.

"Praising you! It’s a gesture from my holand," ihui explained. "You did good. Defeating Ye Chen was very necessary for your path of cultivation. And you achieved it."

"Did the Envoys take him?" Ye Jun moved closer to her.

"Yes. They wanted to heal him before things reached the point of no return. His other injuries can heal, but two are very important," she explained calmly.

"His eyes and his balls?" Ye Jun guessed.

"Your language is really crude," ihui made a face and looked away. "Yes, those two. But I can assure you his eye is beyond recovery. It’s at least beyond their capabilities. As for the other one..."

A mischievous smile ford on her lips as she added, "I might have done sothing to that, just to make sure it didn’t heal back."

Ye Jun’s eyes widened in surprise before his lips curled into a grin. "You sly fox. I never knew you were this devious and cruel. I love this side of yours."

"Hmph!" ihui turned her face away. "I just didn’t want the world to suffer more by having more people like him."

"Haha!" Ye Jun laughed and went toward her. He patted her head and said, "Yes, yes. You’re doing the world a favor by eliminating his future generations. Good job!"

ihui’s face flushed. "D-don’t just go around touching others’ hair without their permission."

"You’re enjoying it though."

"I’m not!"

Ye Jun laughed, which made her even more furious, but he noted how she didn’t bother removing his hand. With her strength, it would have been easy.

’This girl... you’re enjoying it but won’t admit it,’ Ye Jun shook his head.

His eyes suddenly lit up as he rembered the rewards. "Oh yeah, I’ve got a few things. Are these of any value?"

"A Qi Gathering Incense. Mildly useful for increasing cultivation speed. Turtle Shield Barrier. Decent for defense..." ihui casually checked through the rewards he gained from the stairs and gave her opinion. "Useless rewards. Not worth the pain."

"Tell

about it," he grimaced, rembering the tomb owner’s life. "That man had so serious issues in his head."

She tilted her head in confusion.

"Forget about him," Ye Jun took out the main inheritance and said, "Tell

about these."

ihui looked at the space bag first and nodded. "These are good. You can use this to further improve your foundation."

"Eh? How?"

"I’ll teach you," ihui replied. "There are many things that can help in cultivation. They can be used in many ways, so I’ll teach you the most efficient one."

"Alright, then what about this?" Ye Jun asked, handing over the cultivation manual. "Isn’t it good? I’m pretty sure even the Three Main Clans don’t have this."

"Is your goal the three clans?" ihui asked, raising an eyebrow. Then she went through the cultivation manual and added, "It’s good but not suitable for you. I have sothing much better."

"Really?" Ye Jun tied the space bag around his waist and asked, "Is it an Earth Rank technique?"

"You’ll see," she smiled mysteriously. "So, are you going to sell this?"

"I can," Ye Jun responded as he put the cultivation manual back into his space bag. "But I won’t. I have a better use for it."

"What?"

"You’ll see," he smiled innocently at her.

"You!!" ihui wanted to punch him. "Soday, you’ll get beaten badly for your bad habits."

"I’ll wait for that day," Ye Jun shrugged in nonchalance. "For now, we have sothing more to look forward to. Shall we go back? The Martial Exchange is about to end."

"Wait a minute!"

ihui walked toward the White Striped Tigers and took out their Beast Cores. It wasn’t easy since their bodies were huge, but she did it skillfully without getting blood on her robes.

"Now, we can leave."
