Chapter 44: Satisfaction Of Revenge
The plan was reckless and carried heavy risks for Ye Jun, as he was supposedly the weaker one between them. But the young man still sent him as bait and Ye Jun agreed.
Looking right at the maddened Boar’s eyes, Ye Jun dashed forward, purposely keeping his speed slower. The Beast also lunged at him, forgetting its true opponent in favor of the al before it.
The young man followed right behind him, ready to strike the mont the boar would attack Ye Jun and focus on him.
The perfect mont to strike.
In a matter of seconds, Ye Jun found himself facing the Wild Red Boar, its hideous face only a few ters away from him. Its sharp tusks ready to tear him into pieces.
’I am not your al, buddy.’
Ye Jun smiled and glanced behind, where his fellow clansman was fully focused on the Wild Red Boar. He even had his sword ready, coated with his Qi.
’Now’s the ti.’ Ye Jun thought, sending a good portion of Qi to his feet.
The next second, his figure vanished, leaving behind flaming imprints like a mirage. It surprised both the Spiritual Beast and the young man, who suddenly found themselves facing each other.
"Bastar—"
The young man couldn’t even complete his sentence as he sensed a presence behind him. It happened all so suddenly he couldn’t even react, but he tried to stop and turn around.
"See you in hell."
Ye Jun muttered as he lowered his body behind the young man and then sent a powerful kick upward. The kick landed directly against the young man’s chin and the terrifying impact sent the man flying high into the air.
"Sweet Chin Music!"
The Wild Red Boar paused, a little confused by the sudden change in situation with its al. Then it looked between Ye Jun and the young man, ultimately deciding to start with the young man.
As the man fell back, his mind still reeling from the terrible impact, two sharp tusks impaled him from behind, sending jolts of pain throughout his being.
Ye Jun backed away while watching the scene in satisfaction. The man might have fought the boar on equal footing previously, but that was only possible because of his speed. Now that he was heavily injured and under the Boar’s hooves, the man was as good as dead.
And that’s what happened in the following monts as the boar rcilessly tore apart his body and ate everything as if it was having the best ti of its life.
In a way, that was true.
Humans carried special blood essence within them which helped Spiritual Beasts in their cultivation and also increased their lifespan. So, a human of almost the sa cultivation base was a treat for this Boar.
This was the relationship between humans and Spiritual Beasts.
Ye Jun watched everything with a satisfied smile on his face. Not even for a second did he feel any pity toward this wretched man.
Even in his last monts, he kept glaring at Ye Jun hatefully. That look on his face deeply satisfied Ye Jun.
’So much bullshit about revenge being bad.’
So many people said revenge was bad and that you wouldn’t feel anything in taking revenge, but who was going to tell them that it entirely depended on circumstances?
If one made it their entire purpose of living, then Ye Jun could see it as a waste and harmful, but revenge itself wasn’t harmful. Quite the opposite.
Just like the current mont, the relaxation his heart got from seeing that man being eaten was on another level.
’Am I turning into a sadist?’ he wondered, but then he shook his head.
He didn’t really enjoy seeing others in pain, but so were exceptions.
Ye Jun waited for a few minutes as the Wild Red Boar let down its guard while being busy eating the corpse.
’Now!’
As a glint passed through his eyes, Ye Jun dashed forward using Ashen Phantom Steps, reaching the boar quickly and thrusting his dagger directly into its neck.
His dagger’s blade gained a sharper edge as it cut through flesh and muscle easily and sank deeper. The boar resisted, so Ye Jun infused a chunk of Qi into the blade, making the deeper part of the boar explode.
In seconds, the boar succumbed to death with human flesh still caught in its tusks and teeth.
Ye Jun took a deep breath, staring at the floating bubbles before him. He willed them to be collected and they disappeared, appearing in his status screen.
[Slaughter
2]
[Qi
21]
[Strength
31]
"Ah! This feels like heaven," Ye Jun muttered, basking in the warmth. ’I even got attributes for Slaughter Affinity this ti.’
He knew the reason for it. Ever since he got the Slaughter Dao, his attacks would sotis get a boost if he was going for a brutal kill. Just like in this battle where his dagger grew sharp enough to tear through a Tier 2 Spiritual Beast’s thick flesh.
Sadly, he couldn’t control it, so it was entirely random. But every ti he achieved that state, he would get attributes for Slaughter Dao Affinity.
’And nothing else. Well, I expected it.’
The Spiritual Beasts usually didn’t drop anything else, so he wasn’t disappointed. The Qi attributes alone were worth a lot, not to ntion the Strength one.
’I am getting hungry,’ Ye Jun thought, looking down at the boar.
After so many fights, he felt a bit exhausted and needed energy to fight again. His Qi reserves were also getting low, so eating the at of a Tier 2 Spiritual Beast would surely help a lot.
’And they are tasty.’
He turned around and said, "How about we have lunch first?"
ihui jumped down from the tree, landing gracefully on the ground, and said, "You don’t want to use this ti to hunt more?"
"Constant fights are exhausting ," Ye Jun shrugged. "Besides, all the battles here are life-and-death fights, so I don’t want my exhaustion to cause my death."
ihui paused, as if she had just realized sothing important, and nodded. "Makes sense. Let’s do it. But shouldn’t we deal with our guests first?"
"I’m thinking the sa," Ye Jun said, turning toward his left.
