Chapter 151: Dominating

Ye Jun didn’t win the duel, but he won the battle. He knew that was mostly because of his high comprehension that gave him enlightennt mid-battle while watching Sun Tianlan, otherwise it would have been hard to defeat a Sword Genius like Sun Tianlan.

Not to ntion he also felt that she had only recently advanced to the Ninth-Stage Qi Condensation Realm. She was more powerful, but her control over Qi and techniques felt off to him.

In comparison, he had it far better because of his passive Qi Control, Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra and multiple battles after attaining the Ninth-Stage.

As if that wasn’t enough, he also had Adaptation.

Even then, she proved to be a dangerous opponent. Once she stabilized herself in this new stage, she would be a terrifying enemy to face.

’Too bad I won’t be there to see it. I’d like to battle her again.’

Ye Jun was very happy with the outco though. He gained many insights related to the Dao of Sword and the fact that his system acknowledged that by adding it to his Dao Affinities made him even happier.

Looking down at his sword, he smiled, feeling completely different than when he first held it. It was as if he could wield it like an extension of his arm, which wasn’t far from the truth.

’What a day!’

Lastly, he used the Fallen Star Sword Art to end the duel, but clearly that wasn’t the sa technique that Song Liangxue showed him. He didn’t deliver the Starfall Slash that could have covered half the arena in his blazing Qi.

Instead, he simply used his sword.

But he knew that it was the sa Mysterious Technique, he had just unlocked a different part of it because of his Enlightennt.

’The core is sa anyways.’

The core the of Fallen Star Sword Art was overwhelming descending strikes that remained indifferent to anything below. It was like a falling Star that was inevitable.

Starfall Slash was just that. An overwhelming descending Qi Slash that obliterated everything below. It involved heavy usage of Qi.

But Ye Jun didn’t use Qi, mostly because he was limiting himself in this battle and used his new physique and only used Qi occasionally for techniques like Ashen Phantom Steps.

Instead of Qi, he used raw strength to replicate the Starfall Slash. And it worked, which made him almost bounce with joy. After all, this ant he could learn techniques and take them in different directions than they were ant to be.

In other words, he could improve them without actually learning them fully.

It was ridiculous but definitely possible now.

’My god! I’m getting broken every second.’

Sun Tianlan left the stage, admitting the defeat which ant they exchanged their rankings. Ye Jun wasn’t done for the day though, so he issued another challenge.

He didn’t think he was ready to face a Soul Tempering Realm Cultivator yet, so he only challenged the one at rank 192nd, Huang Bojin, a Peak-Stage Qi Condensation Realm Cultivator, or rather a Body Cultivator.

He didn’t know the details, but he was excited to find out.

Hearing it, the crowd began roaring as they were ready to witness yet another good battle from him. They wondered if he would copy his enemy’s techniques like before, but Ye Jun had other plans.

More techniques wouldn’t help him imdiately, so he was just practicing more to gain control over his strength better and stabilize his foundation, as it would help him when he broke through to Soul Tempering Realm.

’The next battles... I’m going to demolish everyone.’

Soon, his opponent ca.

Huang Bojin was a stocky man in his late twenties, broad through the shoulders, with arms that looked like they belonged on soone twice his age.

He was a body cultivator like Ye Jun, but unlike him, Huang Bojin had committed fully to the path. His Qi-Tempered physique was more refined, and his fists were said to be capable of breaking spirit stones in a single strike.

’That one is probably exaggeration.’

He climbed onto the arena with a heavy step, each footstep sending a faint tremor through the stone. The crowd cheered, recognising him as a serious contender.

"You’re brave, kid," Huang Bojin said, cracking his knuckles. "But bravery doesn’t an much when bones break."

Ye Jun sheathed his sword and rolled his shoulders, "Let’s see whose breaks first, bozo."

The Elder gave the signal, and Huang Bojin lunged.

He was fast for his size, faster than the crowd expected, his bulk carried forward on the explosive force of his legs. His first strike ca as a downward hamr of his fist, aid at Ye Jun’s collarbone with enough force to crater the stone if it landed.

Ye Jun didn’t dodge, contrary to his expectations. He stepped into it.

Rooting Stance settled him in an instant, Stone Step Footwork holding him to the arena floor as if his feet had grown into the rock itself. His left arm rose in a clean intercepting line, and Iron Skin Conditioning hardened the eting point. Their forearms collided.

The sound was wrong.

The crowd had expected the dull crack of bone against bone, the kind of impact that sent body cultivators stumbling back to reset their stance. Instead, they heard a sharp ringing note, as if a bell had been struck sowhere deep in the arena.

Huang Bojin’s face changed.

His fist had stopped. Stopped by soone so much younger than him.

Ye Jun’s Crushing Mountain Fist t his ribs in the next heartbeat. There was no flourish to it. It simply arrived, carrying the weight of a Qi-Tempered physique married to Yang Circulation.

Huang Bojin flew.

He flew the way a sandbag flies when struck by a bull, all flailing limbs and lost dignity, and he hit the edge of the arena with a sound that made several disciples in the front row wince. He didn’t get up imdiately.

When he did, blood ran from the corner of his mouth and his right arm hung at a wrong angle. His face was full of shock, "What... what kind of physique is that?"

Ye Jun didn’t answer. He just rolled his shoulders again, loosening them, and waited.

Huang Bojin ca again. He had to. Pride was a chain, and the crowd was watching.

This ti he led with a technique. Iron Bear Crashing Palm, a Mid-Grade Profound Rank art, his palms wreathed in dense earthen Qi that gave each strike the weight of a falling boulder.

He poured everything into it. Three palms in succession, each one heavier than the last, the third one carrying enough force to flatten a Qi Condensation cultivator three stages below.

Ye Jun caught the first palm.

He caught it like one might catch a tossed apple, fingers closing around Huang Bojin’s wrist mid-strike, and the earthen Qi that should have detonated against his ribs simply dispersed against the iron of his palm.

Threat Assessnt whispered in the back of his mind. Huang Bojin’s body, his weight distribution, the angle of his second palm already loading.

Blood Awareness mapped the rhythm of his heart, the breath caught between strikes. Killing Rhythm humd in his bones like a song that had finally found its key.

He pulled.

Huang Bojin ca forward, off-balance, eyes widening, and Ye Jun’s free hand drove up beneath his chin in a single rising motion. Sweet Chin Music.

He could use his other body parts for that technique too.

Huang Bojin’s eyes rolled back before his body understood what had happened.

He hit the arena floor and did not rise again.

The Elder stepped forward, glanced at the body, and raised his hand.

"Winner. Ye Jun."

The crowd erupted.

It wasn’t like the dazzled silence of his duel with Sun Tianlan. This was much different. This was the noise of disciples who had just watched a Ninth-Stage cultivator fold a Peak-Stage body cultivator in two exchanges.

So of them were laughing. So of them were already shouting nas, demanding to know who was next.

Ye Jun didn’t wait for the noise to settle.

"Rank 183," he said, loud enough to carry. "Wei Ruoyan."

The crowd quieted very fast.

Wei Ruoyan was already on her way to the arena. She had been watching from afar, arms folded, and the mont her na left Ye Jun’s mouth she had begun walking.

She was a Peak-Stage Qi Condensation cultivator with a reputation built on a Mid-Grade Earth Rank cultivation manual, the Phoenix Cinder Scripture.

Her Qi always ran hot and her techniques burned harder than any normal flas. She had earned her ranking by setting two Soul Tempering Realm disciples’ robes on fire during a sect-wide lee a year prior, and the disciples in question had not been amused.

She climbed onto the arena with the fluid grace of soone who had never once in her life worried about losing a fight to a cultivator below her stage.

"You picked the wrong day for this," she said, and her hands ignited.

Ye Jun drew his sword, seeing that the opponent wasn’t in the mood for chitchat.

Wei Ruoyan’s first technique was Phoenix Wing Sweep, a wide arc of crimson Qi that rolled across the arena in a wave of heat. The disciples in the front row leaned back. So of them shielded their faces.

Ye Jun walked through it.

He walked through it because his Fire Affinity had grown to nine percent, and because his Yang Circulation had broken into Level Five. There was so much more, like his Yang Physique.

Wei Ruoyan’s fla parted around him.

She saw it part. She saw it part the way an oil slick parts around a fla of its own kind, refusing to bite, refusing to burn. Her face went pale.

"High Fire Affinity?" she said, surprised to see soone with a higher Affinity to fire than her.

"Among other things."

She tried to retreat. She tried to pull her Qi back into her core and reset, the way a Phoenix Cinder Scripture cultivator was supposed to when fire failed.

Ye Jun didn’t let her.

Ashen Phantom Steps closed the distance in a single shadow. Hunter’s Focus narrowed the world to the line of her throat.

Crimson Fla Lotus Art blood in his off hand, a small petal of fire that should not have existed at his stage and existed anyway, and he pressed it against her shoulder as his sword ca to rest at her collarbone.

The fla didn’t burn her robe. It burned through her Qi defences, through the Phoenix Cinder Scripture itself, and Wei Ruoyan felt the heat of her own Dao turned back against her for the first ti in her life.

She froze.

"Yield," Ye Jun said quietly.

She yielded.

The Elder raised his hand again, and this ti the crowd was beyond cheering.

Ye Jun stepped down from the arena, sheathed his sword, and he smiled.

’Next.’
