Chapter 121: Continues Battle

Ye Jun’s next match was with a senior disciple of rank 390th. As much as Zhuxin tried to hype him up, Ye Jun found him quite a disappointnt.

The match lasted for only five minutes where Ye Jun barely got any attributes aside from the basic ones like Qi, Strength, etc.

It was because Zhuxin decided to change his tactics and send soone who countered Ye Jun. Instead of soone who had mastered one particular Mysterious Technique to a high level, he sent a disciple who was a jack of all trades.

The man used many Mysterious Techniques but had little mastery in them. The versatility had allowed him to rank this high and now he proved to be a good opponent for Ye Jun.

In such a short ti, Zhuxin concluded that Ye Jun needed ti to study the Mysterious Technique so that he could learn it.

But what if the opponent barely showed one particular Mysterious Technique? How would Ye Jun study it then? How would he use it against its user?

Ye Jun had to say it was a clever tactic and worked to so extent. Unfortunately, due to the sa reason, the man was very weak too, so Ye Jun just had to use one Mysterious Technique on him before knocking him out.

That was for a reason too.

’It’s fun.’ Ye Jun thought, wiping sweat from his forehead.

He wanted to challenge himself too. He chose to use his techniques as little as possible and only use the opponent’s skills against them.

One might say it was stupid, but he wanted to pressure himself. That was how it always worked for him.

It also gave him more experience in fighting with Qi. The more he fought, the more he understood the battle dynamics and the richer his experience grew.

After he defeated the man, the crowd roared in excitent for him. Just a newcor and he was already at the 390th position. It was a feat rarely achieved by anyone.

He could also hear He Wenxin clapping for him. He smiled, happy to know that the woman was finally getting out of her shell to support him. It motivated him.

’But why is Mountain cheering for ? Shut down, man.’

Ye Jun turned around and looked at the distant Zhuxin, smiling, "What happened? That was all you had? What a disappointnt."

"You want to fight more?" the elder interjected and tried to advise him. "You don’t have to. And even if you want to, you should take breaks. It’s not wise to fight continuously."

Ye Jun paused, as the mories of that dreadful last battle of the world flashed in his mind. If he faced those circumstances, would he be allowed to rest?

’I need to prepare myself,’ Ye Jun took a deep breath and looked up, his eyes filled with resolve and determination. "I’m grateful for your advice, Elder, but that is my choice. If Zhuxin wants to send more, I will fight more."

He scoffed, "I have never backed away from a challenge."

"Fine." The elder sighed and backed away.

On the other hand, Zhuxin felt his blood boiling as his fighting spirit rose. If even his enemy was saying those words after fighting two consecutive battles, how could he back away now?

He grinned, "I have already prepared soone for you."

A young woman with a slim build, long hair and a small oval face with fair skin landed on the arena floor. She looked at him and said, "Take rest first. I don’t want to win against an exhausted opponent."

"My left foot is enough to defeat you," Ye Jun said, taking his stance.

The match began and Ye Jun found himself being overwheld. His body needed a short break, but he was fighting continuously. Not to ntion the woman was a skilled fighter.

Unlike the other two, she preferred to maintain distance between them and used long-ranged attacks to destroy him. She had water as her elent, so even in defense she was very good.

Ye Jun’s movent turned sluggish due to his fatigue and she used it to her advantage. But his rational mind kept a cold clarity that allowed him to make quick and right decisions even in exhaustion.

Using the Balance he got from Stone Step Footwork and the Gale Pressure Chamber, Ye Jun also kept distance from her attacks. Unfortunately, he had to get close to her to collect the attribute bubbles so it created a weird battle between them.

The audience didn’t know what to think of it, but it was still pretty entertaining to watch an exhausted newcor fighting battles one after another.

The battle lasted the longest, as neither side could do anything to each other. Even though Ye Jun wanted to end the battle earlier, the woman was annoyingly good at escaping.

He also couldn’t use her Mysterious Techniques against her properly because he didn’t have Water Dao Affinity yet. It frustrated him as the fatigue was piling up.

It made openings and the woman was quick to use them. There were also three cuts across his shoulder, arm and back from where he was bleeding already.

It was the toughest battle he faced in this world, perhaps only Ye Chen’s one surpassing it.

Finally, he managed to win in a battle of attrition. Not only because he had better Qi control, he also had better Qi quality due to the Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra.

As if that wasn’t enough, he was also replenishing it while fighting her by picking up the attributes she dropped. To win in a battle like that against him was nigh impossible unless you possessed a much higher cultivation base.

Finally, she lowered her guard and even though Ye Jun felt his muscles burning and screaming at him for rest, he used Ashen Phantom Steps and penetrated her defense.

One quick Sweet Chin Music was enough to send her flying out of the arena, which ended the battle. Soon, the elder also announced the results.

"The winner is Ye Jun, now ranked 382nd."

Ye Jun stood up, his hair wet with sweat as it dripped down like a stream. It mixed with blood, giving him a much scarier look. He inhaled deeply, then shouted.

"I’m not done yet! Give

more."
