Chapter 117: Punishnt

The Law Enforcent Hall was unlike any other hall Ye Jun had seen. It was located on the second tallest peak of the sect, looking down at every other facility of the sect.

Standing like a fortress with black bricks that signified their identity, the hall looked intimidating.

Ye Jun followed the enforcers near the gate, as the guards looked at them weirdly. Clearly, nothing of this sort had happened in the past, so they weren’t sure what to do.

Enforcer One stepped forward and said, "Call the Fourth Seat."

"Unfortunately, he isn’t here," the guard said. "I will call the Third Seat."

Enforcer One sighed, as the last hope extinguished. He gave a glance to the one he was supposed to help and sighed, "Fine. Call him."

The guard nodded and went inside.

Ye Jun raised an eyebrow, a little surprised that the bitch had connections that high. Seats were basically positions in the Law Enforcent Hall and the closer the seat was to zero, the higher your position.

Soon, a young man wearing clean sect robes, a straight posture, and an intimidating angular face walked out of the thick tal gates.

He frowned upon seeing such a huge number of disciples and asked, "What’s happening here?"

Enforcer One stepped forward and explained everything in a polite, respectful tone. The more he heard, the more the Third Seat’s face darkened. He glared at the enforcers as they shrank back.

Then, he turned towards the crowd and said, his voice cold as ice, "You can go back. There’s no drama happening here. That woman broke the laws and will suffer the consequences. But there is no need to do it before you."

The crowd turned disappointed, but they didn’t want to argue with soone of his rank, so they decided to leave. Unfortunately, soone else didn’t think the sa.

"Senior Brother, what’s the harm in doing that?" Ye Jun said, smiling faintly. "Is it against the law to watch soone getting punished?"

"It isn’t," the Third Seat said, narrowing his eyes at him. "But I’m not letting her be humiliated for such a cri. It’s unbecoming of ."

"Can’t fight with that logic," Ye Jun sighed and turned back to everyone. "Sorry, fellow disciples. But I won’t go back on my words and will treat you all to a al."

The crowd cheered as their disappointnt disappeared instantly.

"Also, I do rember your faces, so don’t think I’m treating only those who joined earlier," Ye Jun added, which earned him booing, so he smiled and said, "Just joking. All of you will have a nice al."

They cheered again.

"Alright, please leave before we also get punished."

Soon, the square was clear again, with only a few people left, including Ye Jun and his group. The Third Seat stared at them and asked, "Why are you still here?"

"We’re the victims here," Ye Jun said, blinking in confusion and gestured towards Mountain. "I’m sure we have the right to see through the punishnt. Besides, do you even know how much this man suffered here?"

He Wenxin was left speechless along with the rest of them. They all looked at Mountain, who was still happily eating berries. He even smiled at them.

"You shouldn’t jest in every matter," the Third Seat scoffed. "But I’ll allow you to watch the punishnt. It is your right."

He turned towards Enforcer Three and said, "Carry out the punishnt."

"Yes, Third Seat," the woman bowed before going inside the hall. Then she returned with a three-tre-long, thin black whip.

The bitch’s face paled and she squird. "N-No! Please, don’t. I didn’t do anything wrong."

"The evidence says otherwise," Enforcer Three said, gripping the whip tightly. "You will receive the punishnt."

"You!" the bitch’s face turned red in anger. "My brother won’t let you off. I’m telling you. You’re all dead. My brother will take revenge for ."

"Who is her brother?" the Third Seat asked.

Enforcer One lowered his head, but couldn’t lie under his cold gaze. "It’s the Fourth Seat."

"Interesting," the Third Seat said. "Is he the reason you’re so confident? Very well. I’ll see how he takes revenge on . Go on! Continue with the punishnt."

Ye Jun made so distance between them and looked at the spectacle from afar. He smiled at He Wenxin and asked, "Do you feel better? Or are you still going to say it’s pointless?"

"It isn’t." He Wenxin smiled lightly. "But I can never do things like this. That’s why I used to say it’s inevitable. Besides, now her brother will target us, so it’s a never-ending cycle."

Her gaze turned distant as she continued.

"This is how the world works. You deal with one sohow, then their brother will co. Deal with them, their father will co. Deal with them, their grandparents will co. Deal with them, the ancestors will walk out of the grave. A never-ending cycle which can be avoided by simply ignoring the first one."

Ye Jun blinked at her, thinking, ’Woah! She already cracked the formula of cultivation worlds. Is that why she just gave up?’

He could see so logic in her words. Before she t him, she used to get a little beating and had to pay the bitch, but that was it. If she had escalated the situation, her life in the sect would have beco hell and she might even have been expelled.

Instead, she was doing what she liked and learning everything she wanted. It was a small price to pay for her peaceful life, really.

"You’re right," Ye Jun said.

If one was ordinary, then this was really an ideal path to walk on. Only people with extraordinary talent or background could act against it and not suffer.

"I’m sure you knew that already," He Wenxin said, eyeing him suspiciously. "And you still did it. And you certainly didn’t plan to help . So, what is your plan?"

Ye Jun smiled but didn’t say anything.

Out there in the square, the punishnt began and screams filled with agony echoed outside the Law Enforcent Hall, along with the crisp sound of thunder crackling.

That was the doing of the Thunder Whip.

Just then, a loud voice shook the square.

"Who dared to touch my sister?"
