Chapter 40: Modifying One’s Body, Transforming Into A Dragon For The First Ti
I’ve οbtained the Fire Dragon bloodline?
ng Lei looked absolutely bewildered. Previously, when he had picked up the Fire Dragon Manual, he had even found it a white elephant. After all, he couldn’t practice it, so what use was there to it, no matter how impressive it was?

He had still been frustrated the last second, and then he imdiately picked up the Fire Dragon bloodline the next second? Wasn’t this kinda ridiculous?
However! I may have picked it up, but it’s not like they can force to assimilate it if I don’t want to, isn’t it?
With that in mind, ng Lei was just about to communicate with the system when a bunch of crimson flas unexpectedly appeared in his body. Then, they separated into countless sections and turned into innurable tiny fire dragons. These fire dragons instantly darted into all his limbs and bones, fusing with every single inch of his blood and flesh!

As though a barrel of petroleum set on fire, ng Lei felt a piercing and acute wave of pain coming from within his body and assaulting his senses madly. A muffled grunt escaped ng Lei, and he almost let out a tragic cry.
W-what’s going on?!
ng Lei was terribly shocked by this sudden turn of events. He forced himself to endure the severe pain in his body and ran to the nearest restroom.
A bout of crimson red flas erged from within his body the instant he entered the restroom. It scorched his body and burned his clothes, turning him straight into a man on fire!
Under the blazing flas, his clothes didn’t even last a few seconds before they were reduced to ashes. ng Lei’s whole body beca exposed to the air at once!
Through the crimson flas, one could clearly see blue veins bulging against ng Lei’s skin surface. His muscles were trembling, his bones were shaking, and wisps of black smoke were coming out of him!
“Ahhh!”
ng Lei cried out in pain and agony. He felt like his whole body was about to be ripped apart. Violent spasms went through him. He had never once imagined that this was how extre pain would feel like. It was truly utter misery, where one could neither live nor die!
While he was being assaulted by great pain, ng Lei wasn’t aware that his body was currently undergoing a miraculous change. As the small and light flas burned his body, everything, be it his bones, ridians, skin, or blood, was going through changes that ordinary people would find hard to even imagine!
Every single cell!
Every inch of his blood and flesh!
Every single bone!
All of them were being reborn in the flas!
In his dazed state, an earth-shattering roar resounded. A hologram of a Fire Dragon covered from head to toe in fiery red scaly armor, and as though fully cast from solid tal, floated in the air behind ng Lei. It roared into the heavens as it flapped its wings!

In the instant that the Fire Dragon hologram appeared, the sounds of blades piercing through flesh rang out, and fiery red bloodstained scales began to pop up one by one on the surface of ng Lei’s body!
On both of his arms and both of his legs!
On his chest and his abdon!
On his back and his buttocks!
In the blink of an eye, the fiery red scales had spread and covered every part of ng Lei, making him look as though a monster covered in scales!
However, it wasn’t over yet!
Splurt!
Yet another soft pop rang out. Behind him, a long, thick, and muscular dragon tail grew from where his buttocks were. Fiery red scaly armor covered the tail, which was covered in blood. It looked evil and sinister and reeked of blood!
At the sa ti, two bamboo shoot-like objects also grew from his forehead. They were sharp-tipped and red, seeming as if they were going to pierce through the heavens!
These were a pair of dragon horns!

A fiery red dragon tail!
The changes finally ca to a halt at this point. The flas enveloping ng Lei all over slowly extinguished. The acute pain also ebbed away like the tide. ng Lei collapsed into a heap on the ground, gasping for air and panting heavily!
Sweat and blood covered the ground. It was as though ng Lei was lying in a pool of blood. At this mont, ng Lei didn’t even feel like lifting a finger at all!
It hurt!
It hurt too much!
He felt as if he had gone to hell and back!
Even just thinking back to that feeling now gave him lingering fears. ng Lei swore that he never wanted to experience it ever again!
Bam!
Soone pushed the restroom’s doors open right at this mont, and a thin and frail figure walked in. Right away, he was badly frightened by the scene in front of him and let out an ear-piercing scream!
“Ahhh!”
“Stop screaming!”
A severe jolt went through ng Lei. His form turned into an afterimage and appeared right in front of the person that had just walked in. He clapped his hand over his mouth in one swift motion, his movents so quick that it was completely in a different class from what it was before!
“Listen! Stop screaming!”
ng Lei didn’t want to be seen in such a pathetic state. He glared viciously at the person, signaling to him not to cause a commotion.
“L-let go of ! I won’t scream!”
The person nodded tactfully, and actually cald down very quickly.
“You’d better behave!”
After threatening him again, ng Lei carefully released his hold on him. True enough, the person didn’t scream anymore. Instead, he looked ng Lei up and down before he asked in surprise, “You... Are you awakening your bloodline?”
“Awakening?”
ng Lei was a little stunned. It was then that he realized that his body had undergone great changes. His arms, legs, abdon... All of it was covered in a layer of fiery red scaly armor. A long dragon tail had even grown out of his buttocks behind him!
What the hell! Why have I turned into a Dragon Person!?
ng Lei looked green around the gills. He had only just obtained the Fire Dragon bloodline the last mont, and now he had turned into a Dragon Person the next...
“B*stard system, who allowed you to assimilate it? Have you asked for permission?!”
ng Lei was so furious that he let loose a torrent of abuse!
However...
When he clenched his fists, explosive power filled his whole body from head to toe, as if he could destroy a mountain with just one punch!
When he jumped lightly, his body felt so light and buoyant, as if all of his weight was gone. It was as though most of gravity’s pull on him had been canceled out, as though a layer of shackles on him had been removed!
My body... It’s so strong!
ng Lei couldn’t help himself from glancing at his personal stats interface. And then, what he saw astonished him!

What an exaggeration! This is simply too big of an exaggeration!

ng Lei found himself in disbelief, and his feelings of frustration slightly lessened.
“The body will go through a qualitative change when one is awakening their Dragon bloodline!” The person gazed at ng Lei and added calmly, “It’s absolutely normal for you to feel your power becoming stronger, and your body becoming lighter!”
“Alright!”
ng Lei nodded. After taking in the sensations in detail, he directed his gaze at the person. It was then that he realized he actually knew the fellow in front of him.
“Abbe, how co you’re here?”
The person that had entered the restroom was Abbe, ng Lei’s cold and distant housemate. ng Lei’s attention had been fully directed at the changes in his body just now, so he hadn’t recognized him for a mont there, but he finally belatedly realized his identity now!
“You know ?”
Abbe was startled.
ng Lei chuckled and replied sowhat dryly, “Hee! We see each other every day, so would you say whether I know you or not?”
“See each other every d— You’re ng Lei?”
Abbe’s eyes widened, and he stared at ng Lei in disbelief. “Why are you here? No, how co you could awaken the Dragon race’s bloodline? Aren’t you a human!?”
