Chapter 135: Equally-Matched Opponents, A First-Class Spell Falls
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Francis stood tall and proud in the fighting ring, dressed in silver chainmail and holding a silver sword. With his long, slender figure and handso features, even the reincarnations of Pan An1 and Song Yu2 couldn’t get any better than this.
The mont he went up into the ring, innurable wealthy young ladies beca starry-eyed with infatuation and almost started drooling.
“Wow! He’s so handso...”
“He’s so good-looking!”
“That guy has really been blessed with a great face!”
Even Flit the 66th and the others in the private room couldn’t help marveling at how dashing Francis was.
Power was certainly revered in Heaven’s Vault Continent, but vanity was human nature. No matter where one went, good-looking people would always be at an advantage.
“What I find strange is that he’s actually challenging that little bastard. How interesting. Things are going to be interesting now!”
Flit the 66th drumd his fingers against the table lightly as a remarkably amused smile graced his lips.
“Indeed, Your Majesty. Between those two, one has a very deep comprehension of Ice montum and hardly has a match among those below the Saint Domain realm.
“Whereas the other is even more of a mutant by straight-up comprehending the laws of nature, having the ability to do instant release of ninth-grade spells, and even has an impressive body. For them to go up against each other, this is certainly a match of equally formidable opponents and a clash of the titans.
“That little fellow ng Lei has already comprehended fire-elental laws of nature. In terms of pure talent alone, he edges out Francis by too much.
“His only disadvantages are a cultivation duration that’s too short and his status as a dual cultivator of magic and martial arts that has caused his cultivation specialization to beco too broad.”
As the muscular elderly man stroked his beard, he said, “Because of this, he’s unable to raise his body, spiritual power, and magic power reserves to their peak. That’s how he has given Francis an opportunity to win.”
“Indeed! If Francis wants to defeat ng Lei, now is indeed the best ti for him to do so. Otherwise, once that little fellow cultivates his various attributes to their peak, he’ll go straight into the Saint Domain realm. By that ti, Francis won’t hold any chances of victory anymore.”
As the academy presidents gave their evaluations of the situation one by one, looks of interest also showed in their eyes. In terms of one’s comprehension of the laws of nature, ng Lei had evidently surpassed Francis—this was his rit.
On the other hand, his derits were still the sa—too young, a cultivation duration that was too short, and various attributes that hadn’t peaked yet. In these aspects, he was inferior to Francis.
If Francis wished to defeat ng Lei, this was the best, as well as the last, opportunity for him to do so.
...
ng Lei wasn’t aware of the discussion taking place in the private room. He was currently raging mad and had the urge to go berserk, as well as the urge to beat soone up.
As he walked step by step up into the ring, ng Lei cast a glance at Francis, and then he turned to look at the contestant benches before saying, “If there’s anyone else that also wants to challenge , all of you can co at together!”
(⊙o⊙)
Despite the fact that ng Lei wasn’t very loud, his voice still traveled throughout the whole arena and reached everyone’s ears clearly.
Everyone was stunned.
“What did that little fellow say?”
Thinking that he had misheard, Flit the 66th dug his ears a couple of tis. The academy presidents also looked at one another in silence.
“If there’s anyone else that also wants to challenge , all of you can co at together!”?
What the heck?
Was that sothing a person should be saying?
“That kid is a little too arrogant.” The muscular elderly man had an awful look on his face. “How dare he humiliate Francis like that? He’s too much!”
“To think he’s actually so full of himself when he’s so young. Are all geniuses’ personalities that warped and weird...”
This ti, even President Fred didn’t know what he should say anymore. Frankly speaking, even he himself felt that ng Lei was full of himself.
This was clear, blatant humiliation of Francis.
And true enough, Francis had indeed gone berserk. His eyes were freezing cold, and a biting chill that reached all the way to one’s bones burst forth from his eyes. “You have a death wish, don’t you?”
His cold, distant voice was still echoing in the arena when Francis vanished from where he was.
Clang!
The sound of a sword being drawn had only just rung out when a blade gleaming with a chilly glint appeared a few centiters away from ng Lei’s throat.
“How quick!”
Upon sensing the icy-cold blade at his throat, ng Lei retreated with a burst of speed. The next instant, he was already ten ters away.
“Thinking of killing ? Very well!” A cold gleam appeared in ng Lei’s eyes as he slowly uttered two words, “teor Fall!”
He had only just spoken when a fissure abruptly appeared above the arena. Pitch-black and bottomless, it was as though soone had forcefully ripped open a hole.
“That’s...”
All the spectators in the house cried out as one.
Several Saint Domain experts’ countenances also changed dramatically.
The next mont, a gigantic 100-ters-wide teor with black flas circling around it suddenly wove through the fissure and crashed toward the ring at a lightning-quick speed.
It produced deafening booms as it traveled through the air, causing all the spectators to lose their sense of hearing. Loud explosions went off in their heads, leaving behind only booming noises.
“Damn!”
“That’s the fire-elental single-target first-class spell, teor Fall!”
“A lunatic! He’s a total lunatic!”
The muscular elderly man let out a furious curse and instantly vanished from the private room.
“A f-first-class spell!”
Francis stared at the black teor crashing toward him in a daze. As he sensed the terrifying destructiveness coming from the teor, his visage suddenly beca deathly pale.
“Am I going to die?”
That was the only notion remaining in Francis’ mind at the mont. He could only watch helplessly as the black teor ca nearer and nearer to him.
He knew he couldn’t get away!
That was such a massive teor, and it was so close to him!
There was no way he could get away at all!
In the twinkling of an eye, it had already closed the distance of several dozen ters between them and reached right above him in a split second. In the instant where Francis thought he was going to be blasted to death, a burly figure abruptly showed up.
“Destroy!”
A fierce shout rang out, and a fist went flying out.
Buzz!
The black teor instantly broke and splintered into countless black granules that fell continuously in large amounts with a buzz.
The muscular elderly man stood tall and proud in the ring, his long robe flapping in the wind.
“P-President!”
A dazed Francis stared at the elderly man, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down slightly.
“Hmph!”
The elderly man glared at Francis, and then he looked at ng Lei with an awful expression. “Little child, how dare you cast a first-class spell here? Aren’t you a little too bold?”
ng Lei was noncommittal. He replied with a smile, “Didn’t everything turn out alright in the end, anyway?”
Despite his reaction, ng Lei was actually secretly astounded. As a fire-elental single-target offensive first-class spell, teor Fall contained incredible might.
Even ordinary Saint Domains wouldn’t dare to take it on head-on, yet that elderly man had shattered it with just a punch. His strength was truly unimaginable.
“Hmph!”
The muscular elderly man snorted. Then, he vanished right away.
“Are we still continuing the battle?” asked ng Lei as he shifted his gaze to Francis.
“We don’t need to anymore! I concede defeat.”
Francis stared long and hard at ng Lei. Then, he jumped off the ring without even looking behind him. His voice, however, floated back to ng Lei. “Just you wait, though. I’ll defeat you soday!”
ng Lei curled his lip disdainfully. This ti, he didn’t leave the ring in a hurry. Instead, he looked at the contestant benches and said, “Anyone else? If there is, then you can co at together. I don’t have the ti to fight all of you one by one!”
“...”
Silence pervaded the contestant benches. The contestants practically lowered their heads all at the sa ti, none of them daring to face ng Lei’s genius directly or challenge him.
Challenge him?
Oh my goodness!
Were they tired of living?
As if they would challenge him anymore!
The teor Fall from just now had given all the contestants the shock of their lives. While so of them had recognized the first-class spell and so hadn’t, this didn’t stop teor Fall from bringing them a terrifying sense of intimidation all the sa.
Everyone had the sa feeling—should the teor hit them, they would be dood for sure. They wouldn’t have any chance of survival at all!!
With all of them scared out of their wits, would they even still issue a challenge anymore?
“No one?”
ng Lei made the offer another couple of tis. After confirming that no one was challenging him, he finally left the ring, returned to the contestant benches, and took a seat.
