Chapter 115: I’ve Grown Too Full of Myself, But I Didn’t Slip Up That Badly

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

To be very, very honest, ng Lei felt that he’d grown a bit too full of himself recently—and the kind of growing into a huge balloon, no less.

His training in the Magical Beast Forest, the sudden eruption of the ant tide, the series of gold coin expenditure in the system, and his chance encounters had allowed his battle capabilities to skyrocket madly, which had, in turn, allowed him to advance quite a few grades in succession.

To recap, before he had co to the Magical Beast Forest, he had only been a Seventh-Grade Warrior and a Sixth-Grade Magician. Yet, in just a short month or so, he had already beco a Ninth-Grade Warrior and a Ninth-Grade Magician!

If he were to use his trump cards, he could narrowly compare to a Saint Domain.

The speed of improvents in his battle capabilities was astounding.

However, this also made ng Lei’s ego go through unprecedented inflation. As a result, when facing the Saint Domain Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor, what had occurred to ng Lei first and foremost hadn’t been to escape but to kill the other party instead.

A Saint Domain Magical Beast! That was a Saint Domain Magical Beast!

If he could kill it, just how much would he earn?

And so, ng Lei had staked all his assets on the gamble and made a frenzied attack. However, what he didn’t expect was that his best shot at full power hadn’t dealt even the slightest bit of damage to the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor at all.

How infuriating was that?

He had put in so much effort, yet it was still completely fine and dandy?

“It’s a good thing that I’d used the Gods-Slaying Spear when I attacked earlier. Otherwise, I would have been in grave danger.”

ng Lei dodged a few tis consecutively and put a safe distance between himself and the Magical Beasts. He couldn’t help but be relieved at his decision earlier.

As the saying went, “Always have a backup plan”!

No matter when, one must always leave a way out for themselves. Their forefathers didn’t lie, indeed.

“That kid is actually so devious?”

Ol’ Amos was dumbfounded. He had thought that ng Lei was dood for sure; after all, what he was up against was a Saint Domain Magical Beast.

How was charging forward like that so recklessly any different from seeking death on his own?

Little did he expect that ng Lei would actually be that sly. At the sa ti as he had attacked, he hadn’t forgotten to use the Gods-Slaying Spear to ambush the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor from the back.

An attack from the open and another attack from the shadows.

The double whammy had successfully scamd a good one out of the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor. That was simply too insidious.

Screeeeechhh!

The Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor actually didn’t die even after its head was pierced by the Gods-Slaying Spear. Trendous pain assailed its senses, and it roared again and again, its eyes full of violent brutality and bloodthirstiness.

Boom!

Its blade-like foreleg lifted into the air and cleaved ruthlessly toward ng Lei, moving fast and viciously. Should the hit land, even a Colossal Dragon would be cleaved into two.

“Hehe, you can’t hit !”

ng Lei zood backward and retreated. Then, with a snap of his fingers, a 100-ters-wide fireball suddenly appeared above the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor.

“Fla Inferno… Drop!”

Boom!

Fla Inferno fell from the sky and crashed against the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s head with pinpoint accuracy, covering its eyes.

“Here’s my chance!”

ng Lei wielded the Gods-Slaying Spear and stabbed it straight into the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s eyes. With a spurt, the Gods-Slaying Spear went all the way in.

Screech!

The Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor let out a shrill cry. It looked as if the intense pain would cause it to go berserk any mont.

ng Lei was unaffected, however. He appeared at its abdon again and shouted, “Where are you, Gods-Slaying Spear?!”

Whoosh!

The Gods-Slaying Spear transford into a stream of light and returned to ng Lei’s hand. With the spear in his grip, ng Lei stabbed it forcefully into the Magical Beast, and then, he dragged it across with great force.

Rip!

Amid spine-chilling sounds of sothing being ripped, a deep fissure was slashed through the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s abdon.

Splurt!

Foul-slling scarlet-red blood sprayed about like a waterfall. ng Lei sneered, and a ten-ter-long thunder arrow instantly appeared.

It was the Eighth-Grade Spell, Thunderbolt Light Arrow!

“Go!”

ng Lei casually hurled it forward. The Thunderbolt Light Arrow cut through the air and stabbed accurately into the fissure.

“Your skin may be incredibly tough, but I don’t believe that your guts are just as tough!”

ng Lei’s form retreated in an explosive burst of speed. Just as he dodged, the Thunderbolt Light Arrow that had shot into the fissure exploded with a loud boom. As the deafening explosion rang out, the light from lightning spilled everywhere freely, and blood sprayed about. A huge pit was blasted out of the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s abdon.

Splash!

Together with blood and bits of flesh, brightly-colored innards and internal organs ca smashing down onto the ground, emitting dull bams as they did so. A shocking stench rushed toward ng Lei, and he almost threw up his al from the night before.

“What the heck?” ng Lei quickly held his hand over his nose and mouth and retreated swiftly. “Has that thing been eating sh*t or what? It stinks!”

The consecutive attacks had obviously heavily injured the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor. Its eight legs scrabbled at its internal organs, trying to stuff the foul-slling organs back into its abdon.

However, with such a huge hole there, how was it supposed to stuff them back?

Even after half a day of efforts spent in vain, it didn’t manage to stuff the internal organs back inside. On the contrary, its stamina even depleted at a faster rate. Its body beca weaker and weaker, while its roars turned softer and softer.

At last, the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air intermittently. Its eyes also began to dull and glaze over, looking as though it was on the brink of death.

“Haha, I’ve succeeded!”

ng Lei appeared on top of a large tree and watched the dozens of ters tall massive creature that was slumped on the ground, his blood boiling in excitent and agitation.

He had actually killed the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor, a Saint Domain Magical Beast!

“I… can kill even a Saint Domain now?” ng Lei murmured to himself, feeling as though he was in a dream.

“Brat, you’ve actually managed to kill the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor!” Ol’ Amos exclaid as he erged.

He examined the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor that was barely breathing anymore as he twisted his beard, also finding himself in disbelief. He remarked, “Even though you did use a divine weapon like the Gods-Slaying Spear, I am still truly impressed that you managed to kill it.”

“Haha, it was just luck. Luck!”

ng Lei let out a couple of loud laughs. Then, the Gods-Slaying Spear flew out of nowhere and stabbed wildly at the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s head. Although that thing was already at death’s door, who knew how long it would take before it would really breathe its last?

ng Lei felt awfully insecure looking at his starkly empty Wealth, so he desperately needed gold coins. Many, many gold coins!

Stab, stab, stab!

A series of mad stabbings later, the Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor’s head turned into a sieve, riddled with innurable holes. It was only then that the powerful Saint Domain Magical Beast died with great grievance amid feelings of indignation and humiliation.

It really was filled with great indignation.

It, a high and mighty Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor, had imdiately annihilated its eternal foe, the Bloodthirsty Iron-Crystal Ants when it had only just broken through to the Saint Domain realm. It had been in high and vigorous spirits, ready to achieve great things!

Who would have expected that things would go downhill at its peak?

It had only just ascended to the peak of its spider life and hadn’t even begun to enjoy its life, yet this had to happen. Not only did it not manage to wipe out the remnants of the Bloodthirsty Iron-Crystal Ants, but it had even lost its life.

It really fulfilled the aning behind the saying, “Life is unpredictable; who knows which would co first—tomorrow, or an accident?”

“Ding! 1 Underground Cave Magical Spider Emperor killed. 5.2 billion gold coins gained!”

A system notification appropriately rang out at this point. The cold, emotionless voice sounded just like music to ng Lei’s ears, making him feel as if he was intoxicated.

Hehe! Although it was dangerous, my gamble paid off! Adding the extra 5 billion from the magic core to these 5.2 billion gold coins, that makes it 10 billion gold coins!

And that stinky carcass! I’ve struck it big, struck it big…
