The Central Command Room was silent, but tension crackled in the air like an oncoming storm.

Seraphis stood over the massive stone table, her quill moving with calculated precision.

The na HOUSE VALEFOR was already etched in blood-red ink.

But now, she would carve it deeper.

Every na. Every target. Every life that would end beneath her blades.

This was no simple assassination.

This was a hunt.

And the first to fall would be the one at the top of the list.

She dipped the quill into the ink, the scent of iron filling the room, and began writing.

The Nas of House Valefor

1. Lord Ralzan Valefor – The patriarch. Cold, calculating, and rumored to wield blood magic strong enough to twist fate itself. First Target.

2. Lady Mircea Valefor – His wife. A shadowmancer known for puppeteering the minds of weaker beings.

3. Veyros Valefor – The eldest son. A strategist with a talent for battlefield manipulation.

4. Sylvaine Valefor – The daughter. A phantom in the night, her daggers whispered death.

5. The Bloodbound Guard – The personal enforcers of House Valefor. Each one a monster in their own right.

She studied the nas, committing them to mory.

But tonight, only one mattered.

Lord Ralzan Valefor.

She placed the quill down, exhaled slowly, and stepped back.

Then—

She vanished into the night.

The Hunt Begins

Seraphis moved like a shadow through the darkened countryside, the wind whispering secrets through the trees.

House Valefor’s estate lay beyond the valley, its towering silhouette barely visible against the starless sky.

No guards patrolled the outskirts.

Typical.

They relied on magic, arrogance, and fear.

Tonight, fear would betray them.

She adjusted the daggers at her waist, feeling their weight—solid, lethal, perfect.

The air slled of damp earth and old blood as she neared the estate.

Then—

A flicker of movent.

She stilled.

A single sentry stood at the gate, his armor gleaming in the moonlight.

He would never see her coming.

A silent breath—

A blur of motion—

And her dagger slid into his throat.

His body crumpled soundlessly.

The hunt had begun.

Inside the Beast’s Den

Seraphis slipped through the grand iron gates, weaving between shadows.

The estate was a fortress of luxury and decadence, its marble walls laced with golden filigree.

Torches burned with an eerie blue fla, casting ghostly flickers across the courtyard.

A quiet night.

But inside—

A monster awaited.

She moved past the silent halls, every footstep a whisper.

Then she heard it.

The voice of Lord Ralzan Valefor.

She followed the sound, pressing against the cold stone walls, listening.

“The Sleeper stirs. Soon, the world will bend to us.”

A slow, controlled breath.

She rounded the corner.

And there he was.

The Confrontation

Lord Ralzan Valefor stood at the center of a lavish study, clad in flowing crimson robes.

His silver hair glead under the candlelight, and his piercing violet eyes t hers instantly.

He was waiting.

“Ah… so the assassin cos.”

Seraphis did not speak.

Her blades answered for her.

In a flash of steel, she lunged.

But—

Ralzan moved with inhuman speed, his palm striking the air—

A wave of force sent her flying backward, slamming into a bookshelf with bone-rattling impact.

Books toppled. Dust filled the air.

But Seraphis was already moving.

She twisted midair, landing on her feet just as Ralzan’s hand crackled with blood magic.

“You are nothing but an insect,” he sneered.

He raised his hand—

And the air shattered with crimson energy.

Seraphis dove, rolling beneath the blast as the very stone walls cracked apart behind her.

Fast.

Too fast.

She had to end this before he could unleash his full strength.

The Battle of Shadows and Blood

They clashed, steel against sorcery.

Seraphis darted through the room, her daggers flashing in the dim light, striking where he least expected.

But Ralzan was a master of war.

Each ti she struck, he countered with a blast of blood magic, warping the very air around them.

The study burned.

Flas danced along the ruined bookshelves, casting monstrous shadows.

Seraphis grit her teeth, dodging another crimson blast.

She couldn’t fight like this.

She needed to get closer.

With a flick of her wrist, she sent one of her daggers spinning through the air.

Ralzan laughed, swatting it aside—

And that’s when Seraphis vanished.

A blur of motion—

She reappeared behind him.

Her blade sank into his back.

Ralzan roared in agony, spinning wildly, his magic flaring—

But it was too late.

Seraphis grabbed his hair, wrenched his head back—

And her second dagger sliced through his throat.

Blood sprayed.

The great Lord Ralzan Valefor collapsed to his knees, gurgling, eyes wide with shock.

Seraphis stood over him, her expression unreadable.

“You were the first.”

And then—

She decapitated him.

His head rolled to the floor.

The fight was over.

The Aftermath

The estate was eerily silent as she wiped her blades clean.

But her work was not done.

She searched the ruined study, rifling through old tos and hidden compartnts.

Then—

She found it.

A collection of notes.

Handwritten letters, detailing rituals, experints, and the truth of the Sleeper Experint.

Her eyes flicked across the parchnt, absorbing every detail.

It was worse than she had imagined.

But there was no ti for hesitation.

She gathered the docunts, stuffing them into a satchel.

Then she turned—

And set the entire estate ablaze.

Flas roared to life, consuming everything.

A fitting end for House Valefor’s patriarch.

As the fire rose behind her, she stepped into the night.

One target down.
