Chapter 174: The Dark Knight Returns
Mathison walked over to the source of the sound and finally found a person behind the last bookshelf.
This person was tied up, face down on the floor facing the wall, with his back to Mathison.
When he saw the back of this man, Mathison’s heart was moved.
Simply, because he was too familiar with this figure.
Mathison walked up to the man and turned his body over.
Although he was ntally prepared, he still didn’t expect that the person locked in the Clock Tower by the Riddler would be “him”!
After a brief inspection, Mathison confird that the person detained here was still alive, so he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Charlie, the plan has changed, stop now!”
Mathison quickly contacted Charlie, praying that it wasn’t too late.

On the other side, after Pala and Barbara lost Deathstroke, they entered Gotham’s underground passage.
Under Pala’s active guidance, the two won gradually approached Gordon’s underground base.
“We are about to enter the confines of the Edinburgh district.”

“Why are we coming to Edinburgh?”
Barbara asked in confusion.
“Aren’t you always worried about your father?”

“I haven’t had ti to tell you about this. Didn’t I split up with you to find Chief Gordon and Jas Jr. the night before Deathstroke hit Robinson Park?”
“On the way to find little Jas, I t soone.”
Then, Pala told Barbara about her encounter with Phantom Kid.
Of course, she didn’t ntion Mathison’s na.
“Oh, Pala, I must thank you for this great news!”
After hearing Pala’s story, Barbara hugged her tightly and excitedly.
“Hey! Hey! Don’t get too excited. There is still a lot of ti for you to catch up when you see your father.”
Pala patted Barbara’s back and said helplessly.
“Okay.”
Barbara nodded, and the two parted into moving on.
After a while, the two won finally ca to Gordon’s base.
They didn’t go directly in, but found a sewer well and covered it to the ground.
After all, what Gordon and the others saw Pala as was “Fujiko Mine”, not her original appearance.
So, Pala couldn’t explain how she knew about the location of the underground base.
She knew that Gordon was now sending soone to find Barbara in secret, and they could easily be spotted as long as they walked around.
As for why the two of them ca to the Edinburgh area, it would be no problem to bla it all on Deathstroke.
Barbara knows what Pala will be facing, and she was willing to help her pull a believable act.
So, after about two hours or so of turning around, the two ladies managed to get stopped by soone.
The person who ca was none other than Blake.
As the youngest and strongest mber of the current police force, he is basically the easiest to dispatch.
At this ti, Blake had actually been looking in the direction that Fujiko Mine had divulged to them that day.
But no trace of Barbara was ever found.
As a result, he didn’t expect to encounter them on the way back.
“Barbara! Why are you here?”
Blake asked in confusion first, then turned his attention to Pala.
“And this one is…?”
“Pala. Don’t worry, it’s one of our own.”
Barbara interrupted.
Blake nodded, knowing that Pala should be the one who accompanied Barbara to Gotham.
In Gotham’s current situation, being able to sacrifice their lives to accompany each other is enough to confirm the deep feelings between the two of them.
“This is not a safe place, co with . Your father really wants to see you.”
Blake looked around, making sure no one noticed them.
“Let’s go.”
Barbara and Pala followed behind Blake and returned to the underground tunnel.
“It’s much safer here.”
After a short walk, Blake turned to Barbara and said.
“Barbara, why are you coming this way? Have you t Lupin III and the others?”
“And what’s about the injury on your arm?”
“Who is Lupin III? I’ve never t this man.”
Barbara wondered, “Actually, Pala and I escaped all the way from the Old Town.”
“I t Deathstroke and managed to escape his pursuit.”
“Deathstroke?”
Blake was dumbfounded.
As a Gothamite, how could he not know of Deathstroke?
He took a deep look at Pala, the ordinary girl who was able to escape from Deathstroke.
This person is not ordinary!
Although Blake doesn’t know what Barbara’s ability is, he believes that no matter how strong she is, she will not be a match for Deathstroke, and escaping is much more difficult.
If Pala was only dead weight, the two of them would have never escaped Deathstroke.

Barbara wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and quickly changed the subject.
“Where is my father?”

Aaron yelled.

The lighting system ca back on.

Seems like just a normal experience.

In Aaron’s experience, the power supply to the underground passage has not failed for more than five years.
“If soone has made a move, then his target is probably not us.”
Blake suggested one possibility.
“Jim!”
Aaron suddenly realised, and so did the others.
They quickly ran deep into the base, seeking to hurry up and get to the tunnel where Gordon is.
“Don’t worry… I’m fine.”
However, before they were halfway there, Gordon staggered over.
“Jim, do you know what just happened?”
Aaron hurried over to help Gordon.
“He… he’s back…”
Gordon said intermittently, while slowly raising his hand to the crowd.
Jim was holding a Batdart in his hand!
And it’s not the fake one Barbara used, it’s the real Batdart!
This also ans that the power outage just now was not accidental, nor was it caused by Bane’s people.
Rather, it was a sign of the Dark Knight’s return!
