The staff mber, who was looking at Fina and Snowy Lionet, now looked back up and nodded, “Yup. There are different kinds of love birds. Which kind are you looking for?”
Which one… Zhang Zian and Guo Dongyue looked at each other, but no one could co up with an answer. Guo Dongyue’s mom never took pictures of the birds, so he wasn’t sure which breed it was. This was the first ti Zhang Zian had heard that there were various kinds of love birds. He thought birds were like cats in the fact that each breed only has a few kinds. “Gentlen, we have so many birds. Would you like to go ho and think about it first?” The staff mber was going to send them ho.
Zhang Zian understood what he ant, but he was not going to leave with empty hands. Otherwise, the taxi money would going down the drain… although that was Guo Dongyue’s money.
“Can we walk around?” Zhang Zian asked.
The staff mber was annoyed. He nodded and said, “Well, okay. You know, we only have limited staff so I can’t walk around with you.”
“That’s okay. We will walk around on our own.”
“Okay,” the staff mber sighed. He searched around in his pocket and found four disposable shoe covers for them, “You guys need to wear these, otherwise your shoes will step in bird poop.”
“Thank you,” Zhang Zian and Guo Dongyue took the shoe covers. The shoe covers had to be customized because there was the Phoenix House logo on the side of each one.
“Your cats are not allowed in there.” The staff mber pointed at Fina and Snowy Lionet and said, “What if they eat our birds?”
Zhang Zian understood the staff mber’s concern. Everyone knew that cats loved hunting birds. They were quick. If a cat laid its eyes on a bird, that bird would not have any hope of living.
“Don’t worry. My cats don’t eat raw at. They won’t eat your birds,” Zhang Zian assured.
“No. Our birds are too expensive to take this risk,” the staff mber didn’t agree.
Fina didn’t care about this staff mber but opened its eyes widely to look at various kinds of birds flying around. Snowy Lionet walked around Fina closely. When a bird flew close to Fina, Snowy Lionet would scare the bird away. That was the staff mber’s real concern.
Zhang Zian knew that bringing Fina along would get them in trouble. However, he would not agree to leave them outside at this point.
Guo Dongyue had been very quiet the whole ti. He suddenly said, “Could you have your boss co over?”
“I am sorry. Our boss is in a eting with soone,” the staff mber rejected.
It was a normal excuse. Zhang Zian could not tell if he was telling the truth or making up an excuse.
“I own a pet store. Look, we are both in the sa industry. Why don’t you let us in?” Zhang Zian tried to play the friend card.
The friend card didn’t work. The staff mber tried to kick them out. “I am sorry. Our boss is eting with soone now. If you don’t want to leave them outside, please show yourselves out.”
Fina was angry. This was a huge humiliation for it. If it wasn’t for the fact that Fina promised Zhang Zian it would behave, it would kill a few birds to show its anger. Fina stared at the staff mber with its round and green eyes. Snowy Lionet could feel Fina’s anger so it got ready to fight for its Queen. As soon as Fina sent a command, Snowy Lionet would start the fight.
Although the staff mber had never had a cat, he clearly knew that both cats were angry. He was scared and stepped back vulnerably. He didn’t understand why the cats had beco so angry all of a sudden.
Zhang Zian knew that Fina would keep its promise and behave, but who knew what Snowy Lionet would do?! He stepped in between the two so he could stop the fight in ti.
“What is going on? What are you doing?”
At this ti, two people ca out from the hallway behind the flowers. A middle-aged man in a suit walked over.
The staff looked back and acted as if the man was his savior, “Director L?, these two guys want to visit our birds’ house. I told them they have to leave the cats outside but they don’t want to… Look at this cat. It looks angry. I am concerned about our birds being hurt.”
L? Mingyi nodded, smiled and noted the situation.
“Are you the manager or boss?” Guo Dongyue asked directly.
L? Mingyi glanced at Fina and Snowy Lionet and said, “I am the owner, L? Mingyi. And you are…?”
Before he finished, a voice ca up behind him,” Is that an ancient Egyptian cat?”
Zhang Zian looked over and saw a normal looking middle-aged man. He imdiately recognized it was Professor Wei Kang, whom he t in Binhai University when he captured the apprehensive bird.
