Chapter 924: The Rematch

Milo’s idea was not truly feasible however, he could pull himself and Loimos around due to the hold, and furthermore, with his energy also being grappled into submission, and the flow of both air and blood being cut, he only had his physical body to rely upon, which was rapidly losing strength as his focus and consciousness were turning foggy…

He hopelessly grasped at dirt, finding it hard to accept that after all of this, he was going to be defeated by simply being grappled and strangle to death, he was wielding a golden energy that followed the steps of what he had been was the greatest hero to have ever lived, the only one that actually deserved the title… And yet, the pure undead, the skeleton who could wield death as a weapon, had mastered every form of combat and ways of power possible, who could call forth the damned apocalypse… That guy was just going to kill him with a move anyone of humanoid build could have pulled off?

It was so absurd! Who could he have seen this coming?

‘S-Shit… I am losing consciousness… There has to be sothing I can do…’ desperately trying to force Loimos to loosen his grip despite already knowing that it was useless, Milo noticed that the undead was truly not taking any chances with him, whilst strangling him, he had begun to carefully destroy the remainder of the gold within him, whilst also draining away at his energies and life force, converting all of into his own…

This ant that if Milo actually died right there, Loimos would be getting a whole lot of extra ti to slaughter around, and would probably manage to nd so of the damage he had received on top of gaining access back to so of his abilities, this was the worst possible scenario.

‘Damnit! Move! Do sothing!’ the living attempted to forcefully move his inner energies, but it was aningless, they were just as securely locked in place as he was, it seed like the undead’s grappling technique was flawless, perhaps sothing could have been done at the very beginning, mid-grappling, or before the throw… But it was too late, and with his body growing weaker every second, Milo truly had no way of fighting back.

Dark, everything was turning dark.

Milo was losing his anchor and falling into unconsciousness, and once that happened, it would not take long for him to fall into eternal darkness, his futile attempts at breaking free grew sluggish, pathetically weak, until they stopped altogether, but his hand did not yet fall to the ground inert, the living was still fighting against it, despite the fact that even if was sohow able to break free right now, he would still be in a losing position, Loimos had exterminated nearly every ounce of gold he had left within his body, and absorbed almost the entirety of every inner energy coursing through him, his mind and soul felt dormant, there was no cutting it, Quideos Audit had been absolutely right, there had never been any way for Milo to win this fight… He was just a man.

As the living’s eyes began to close, his consciousness falling into a lightless pit, the undead suddenly rolled away from him, which Milo did not realise for although not dead, he was already out of it by then.

He evaded a spell that had co from afar, and soon enough, several figures appeared in the area, Helena was not present, Loimos had mangled her far too much even for the blessing of gold from Milo to heal her back up swiftly.

It seed like the livings wanted a rematch, the elental champions and all of the combat oriented talent holders had decided to show up at this opportune tis, their arrival could only an that the brunt of the vanguard that had been deployed had fallen in battle despite the arrival of a great miasma generator, but considering the blessings of gold each of them were carrying, it made sense that they would be able to co out on top, if the sa thing happened the two ancestors, then it was actually surprising that the whole battlefield had not been instantly cleared of all undeads…

The heralds, priestesses and ancestors were probably doing their best to contain the horrific amounts of miasma the generator was pumping out, that was one of the main points of having The Traveler ready to spit it out, the erald folks were too worried about the health of the realm to spare any efforts in protecting it from such a noxious threat, as this generator was a most awful thing that Loimos had taken a lot of ti to prepare, so naturally, the miasma it created was custom-built to be incredibly hard to deal with, not to ntion that the mass of rot making up the generator could also spawn corpse summons on top of it.

Loimos swiftly stomped the ground, using the strength he had regained from draining Milo to call upon bone spikes, aiming to slay the man in question, but a wind spell cast by Forven lifted the unconscious Milo before the spikes could skewer his every organ.

The undead and the group of livings remained in place for a few second, Loimos checked each of them one by one, confirming that Antieeld was not amongst the group, most certainly still providing support on the frontlines, presumably aiding in the containnt of the many corpse summons that were being created.

That was a good thing, as frankly, she was amongst the few who had the capability to be a big threat to him right now, but since she was not present, Loimos was only surrounded by fear.

Kicking off the ground, he clashed with the champion of fire, Alosfit’s strength was… Sowhat sufficient to not be instantly overpowered, but not superior enough to the undead’s for him to keep up, his blade was pushed aside, Loimos reaching for his throat.

Only to have his arm go through a bubble of pressurised water, and his skull pelted by bullets of compressed wind.

The water turned black, and with a swift motion, Loimos turned the spell against the living, further compressing the sphere and throwing it into the ground, sending dirt and dust everywhere as the mana, originally belonging to the champion of water, spread everywhere, obscuring the skeleton’s movents.

Like a wild beast, he bursted out of the dust, aiming for rno, who was far less skilled in close-quarters combat than the elental champions, but the undead had to stop mid-way to stop a powerful crossbow bolt fired from afar…
