Chapter 902: A Light Snafu, At Worst

The thing with Helena was that she was a pure wind mage, and amongst the four most basic elents, wind was a tricky one, energy wielders created their constructs and elents from nothing but their energy, in this case, mana.

But as with most things, they could do more than just that, earth mage had the bad habit of shoving their mana into the ground to cast their spells, using already existing earth to manifest their magic, but all mages could do that to so extent, naturally, if the the affinity aligned well with the thing that was being imbued with mana and which the caster was trying to exert control over, the result would be better.

All that to say, that Helena was using this trick to weave in spells unexpectedly, the woman would cast spells normally from herself, send her mana outward to form spells on the sides and behind the undead, but she did sothing more, by constantly spreading out her inner mana outside of her body and seizing control of all surrounding winds, for the latter, she concealed the mana injected into the stray air and would only have it lash out when an opportunity would arise.

As it stood, with the area already being flooded with the living’s mana and his beaten up senses, Loimos could not actually tell the difference between winds that had been left untouched, and those which could abide by the mage’s orders at any ti.

Coupled with the fact that she could selectively chose to render the hair incredibly dense, Loimos had no other choice but to compete on the grounds of magic to get past her, so he tried to spread his own mana outward as well, but naturally, Helena had already thought of that and sohow, even energy was affected by the density of the air- struggling to spread away from the undead, being pushed back in.

Helena frowned, keeping dead mana in check was more difficult than she would have liked, it was like trying to wrestle a bunch of small, but ferocious animals with razor-sharp claws, any mont of inattention, and the undead would try to force so mana through, or try to take over so of her own mana, if the latter happened and he managed to get to her that way, it would be catastrophic, so she had to allow the forr to happen multiple tis to guard against it effectively.

The instant there was a gap in the living’s spell, Loimos launched a blade of wind of his own, but as with everything concerning the skeleton, the base form any spell would take would carry a hint of death in soway, and since there was no point in exerting any focus toward manifesting the regular form of the elent, the blade of wind carried so sort of plague with it, a fact that Helena was quick to take notice of.

Soaring to the air to avoid the spell, focusing mana into her right hand, muttering so sorts of incantations under her breath-

Since it was doubtful that Helena was competent in the real way of power that was the reciting of incantations, it ant that this was just a way to empower the spell that was coming next, unfortunately, Loimos could not quite figure out what it was as she made sure to keep that under wraps, the air increasing in density severely around the undead.

Helena spun through the air, accompanying the spell with a clear movent full of montum and strength, and what ca out was rather lacking in imagination… It was just a blade of wind.

It was a transcend-level blade of wind, however.

Tearing through everything in the way, it seed as though it had the potential to even carve through space if given more ti, despite the certain complexity and how focus-hungry a transcend-level spell was, especially when accompanied by a clear gesture and incantations, Helena had not weakened the air density spell in the least, in fact, she had done better than this, and upgraded it to a transcend-level spell along the way, aning that she had just, rather easily, manifested two of these spells at the sa ti, one of which, casted with great difficulty and ti, would be enough to rank her at the top of all mages.

‘She has surpassed the Volcano Witch in life’ naturally, even faced with what could spell the doom of countless people, Loimos remained chillingly calm, he couldn’t panic even if he wanted to, and he had already thought about what to do.

Unfortunately, he would not be making a great evasion like so magician stuck in box full of water, casually breaking through a transcend-level spell under the care and watch of their caster was not sothing he could do quick enough right now, but whilst his movents were being restrained, his own inner energies were not, so in the split instant it took for the tall blade of wind to reach him, he weaved a transcend-level spell of his own, using ‘stack’ alongside it, he didn’t just use mana, but brought together every energy existing within his body, even those who should not sh together harmoniously followed his will, he had to use so conditions to be able to do everything so quickly, but he just exploited loopholes, so it was of no consequences, the only issue with that was that he wouldn’t be able to use the exact sa trick again.

Which was why he had not used it until now, there were plenty of ways things could go wrong after all, so keeping so trump cards up his sleeves was only natural.

But it seed like Helena warranted the usage of one, although she did not have the natural advantages that the Volcano Witch had due to possessing an energy trait, the tall woman had been able to surpass her teacher as a living mage, honestly, the reports Loimos had gathered had not been able to gather much on her current level of strength, so the undead was truly experiencing it firsthand…

The blade of wind crashed into the undead, and although his defensive spell prevented it from cutting right through him like hot butter, he was still taken off his feet and propelled back with just speed that even the physically strong would have had all of their bones break under the pressure.

Loimos was freed from the constraints of the air density, and in fact, Helena had to chase after him as was launched away so far, in so little ti, that she imdiately lost sight of him.

The pure undead could not actually go very far however, as his back soon impacted the barrier of life, the transcend-level spell not losing any strength as it forced him against, resulting in it managing to slowly cut deeper into the corpse, whilst the potent life within the barrier lashed out against him from the other side.

If Loimos was asked to describe this situation by a fellow undead, he would respond :

“It is sowhat of a pickle”
