806: ssenger 806: ssenger It was easier said than done however, the way rooms and areas were arranged was odd to say the least, although only livings were within for now, it had clearly been built according to undead standards, and as such, many areas had at least a few pockets of darkness in them, which would allow any good undead soldier to use their darkness awareness and efficiently map out their surroundings and know exactly where everything was, there were so plaques and signs around, but all were written in a language that neither Ilmael nor Antieeld could decipher, the sa tongue used by the majority of the invaders.
This one had been specifically created to be used by the living soldiers as a stand-in for death tongue, which allowed them to freely communicate without having to worry about being overheard by the enemy, it worked the sa in written format, what was crystal clear to the soldiers stationed in this underground, was an unbreakable mystery to anyone that unlawfully entered.
As such, the trespasser had to simply follow his guts and wander around until he ran into what it was that he sought after, he encountered more gardens, so bearing only plant life of the Erald Realm, so lding it with plants from outside, and so that simply had none, but still, all gardens were bustling with plants full of life force, so even if pale or warped in appearance, there were still no signs of undead trespass.
There was also a cafeteria and areas were livestock was being raised, the forr was only obvious, but the latter was more surprising to behold, it was hard to imagine farms being set-up below the earth and functioning properly, but the enemy had incredible ans, and seed capable of reproducing sunlight and a proper ecosystem for whatever they wished for to go well.
It was soon after that that Antieeld and the fighting spirit finally encountered signs of the rest of the troops, the beasts were nurous and incredibly varied in shape, and this also allowed the commandant to behold just how outrageous the manipulation of space within this base was, as the ceiling extended so far up to be able to fit truly gigantic creatures, the likes of which she had not yet seen the enemy make use of.
And beings that had clearly been enhanced through plenty of ans, crystals growing upon their body, fed elixirs that caused them to grow stronger, there was no sign of how they caused their beasts and people to mutate however, or how so were rigged to explode upon defeat.
‘Ilmael, be wary’ Antieeld spoke calmly, but the sense of urgency was not missed through the connection she shared with the spirit, Ilmael quickly hid in a dark corner, sothing they had made for the undead creating obvious hiding spots for him to conceal himself in.
A distance away, in a simple, white corridors, under the bright light of one of the few light sources, a hooded figure emitting a frosty aura was conversing with a young girl dressed a sort of attire that resemble clerical robes from behind, but seed to have been opened up sowhat on the bottom front to allow for more mobility.
With blonde hair styled into a single braid that fell upon her back, the girl looked so clean and healthy, it was hard to imagine such a pretty young lady was working for an empire of decay and destruction.
‘I can’t tell for sure, but she looks like she might be another one of those who call themselves daughters of that scourge’ inford Antieeld, sharing information with Ilmael.
The death hunter had been slain in the guts of the chro dungeon ruled over by Faraday, overpowered in a fight alongside his n by the one that went by many titles, and the Hero-Slayer, Slotriig.
Knowing that one was now the empire’s champion, and one had already been a royal guard of the skeleton king, his defeat had truly been inevitable, in fact, he had struggled for far longer than he would have guessed had he known such intel back then.
The two invaders were speaking in the incomprehensible language, and eventually, the hooded figure nodded, slightly bowed and jogged away, the cold air that followed him around brushed up against the spirit, letting Ilmael feel the powerful frost that seed to be a part of the elite.
‘And that’s just one elite of theirs?
Where are they even sourcing these people…’ Ilmael looked back at the self-proclaid daughter of the pure undead, not staring directly at her as she might sense his gaze.
‘Should I…?’ ‘Don’t bother, from what I saw, the daughters have a leader of their own, and it isn’t that one, I suspect that they are rely a group of special elites, they may have executive powers amongst the troops, but the undeads aren’t big fans of loose chains of command, there must be soone specifically designated as the leader in this place’ Antieeld could see the value of taking out an opponent as powerful as that one, but now was not the right ti, their presence in this underground was a golden opportunity.
The instant sothing drastic was done, they would be discovered and breaching in again would probably be impossible as they would realise that Antieeld’s spirits can go around undetected.
Ilmael decided to follow after the hooded elite, figuring that he must have been told sothing that needed to be passed over to soone else, that soone else should supposedly be soone of importance down here.
And sure enough, the soldier in white led the spirit through a series of corridors, and into a hallway that was sowhat hidden from view, with countless wires protruding from the walls, ceiling and ground, leading into a room with a reinforced door, upon which the elite knocked thrice.
There was a mont of silent stillness, soone on the other side probably checking the identity of the knocker through the peephole upon the door, and after multiple locks were opened, a figure that looked awfully similar to that of a most regular soldier opened the door.
The elite rely began speaking, although it was hard to decipher the pronunciation of a completely unknown language, it did seem like he was repeating what the young girl had told him, the other figure nodded without saying a word, and the discussion simply ended, the door was shut once again.
A chilly gust went right past Ilmael, and he decided that the one action that would be taken down here would be to find out what was going inside of that room, and perhaps, slay the one that appeared to be the leader.
Antieeld had the sa idea.
