773: Operation Arid Soil : Part Eigthy-Four 773: Operation Arid Soil : Part Eigthy-Four Before the capital of the desertic realm, Ny-Hor and Ir’Houwl were both stuck in place, mid-attack, both had been a re instant away from landing a most destructive strike, right now however, they were as still as statues, both had attempted to slowly manifest sothing to attack the other with, but as though Cleansing Undeviginti was actively paying attention to them specifically, nothing could move around them, no matter how slow, the radiant sun was not allowing anything, so they could only remain as statues for now.

Similar situations were playing out in many other places across the desert, although the murderous sun was not nearly as draconian in the enforcent of its strange rules elsewhere, the people fighting elsewhere were also many tis weaker as well, the dreadful heat had already been the death of many, and the more ti passed, the more fell to the white light.

Both sides were suffering losses, but one was obviously more at risk than the other, having already been at a disadvantage before, the natural hazard was only further pulling them down… ritites was still stuck in place, as ti passed, her opponent could swear that a manic smile was slowly creeping up on the butcher’s face as both were channelling their inner vapour to keep themselves from collapsing due to the heat.

Cheops was knocked out after coming out on top over an Ersta’sol, albeit with a bit of assistance for an undead, without whomst the Ersta’sol’s defensive solar spell would have been able to block the sneak attack without problem.

And anwhile, Benerib was casually strolling the halls of a solar temple, still inspecting her new self, although she had not beco a vampire, she definitely was of the undead category that drank blood.

She had beco much more attuned to sanguine vapour, and could now wield it without problem even without wearing her mask, which ant that Benerib was technically qualified to be an Ersta’sol now, also, on top of having teeth that could morph into object of her choosing, her fingernails could turn into claws on command now, she also believed that her teeth could sothing other than be shaped, but wasn’t quite certain what it was just yet.

In any case, on top of the basic ability set all undeads earned for themselves from the mont of creation, she also had a sense of sll that was especially capable of picking out the scent of blood, anyone with even a speck of their blood, even if old and dry, could be slled by her from far away, not to ntion that her now completely red eyes could show her the trails visually as well.

In short, Benerib could take her ti following after the young arm-bearer, he quite literally could not escape from her, as such, she had taken her ti to finish the Ersta’sol, whose last act in life had been to attempt to protect soone else instead of launching a solar spell at the one who was going to kill him, certainly admirable, but this had not preventing him from having his head separated from his neck by the heretic’s teeth.

‘Aah… Where did he put that baby?

The blood of an infant might be very tasty…’ the sanguine worshipper had put her mask back on, physically, her transformation into an undead had not been too drastic, her flesh wasn’t in a state of putrefaction, and she had not beco nothing but bones, overall, she was still completely recognisable, her body had just turn dry and deflated, although consuming blood seed to have inverted that change, as although blood was absent from her veins, it was plentiful within the heart.

Though, apart from the hair on her head, all body hair, be it on the legs or arms seed to have shrivelled up and died for so reasons, also, she could feel that her spine had changed in so way, although small spikes had appeared upon it, but not big enough to actually pierce the skin and flesh.

Benerib probably would have to ask Ir’Houwl for so assistance in learning what sort of undead she had turned into, for that was far from what she had expected after seeing the corpses that served the minor lord as soldiers, the majority of those guys were just corpses, so of strange creatures, but clearly cadavers nonetheless.

‘Oh, why did you stop moving?

My dear blood sack… Your youthful blood might taste nice- I wonder, is the taste due the strength of the person, or sothing else?

That Ersta’sol was simply scrumptious…’ scratching the back of her head with a teeth sickle, she then spun her weapons a bit, standing uncomfortably close to a leaf-curtain, behind it, she could feel that a group of people had gathered, including the one she was tracking.

The heretic was well-compatible with undeath, but getting a good grasp of how to sense life force did tend to require so ti for forr livings like herself, only the naturally spawned undeads had a nigh perfect knowledge of this extra sense from the beginning, sa for darkness awareness.

Benerib had to adapt to new senses she had not possessed for the majority of her existence, in fact, the ease with which she was using her ability sll blood and see the trails of those she was tracking was wholly abnormal and could only be attributed to the fact that her undead form had been fine-tuned to fit her specifically.

‘Should rush in and attack, or pick them off one by one?

If I attack head-on, they’ll scatter around like a bunch of sablerelles, and if I don’t make them all bleed at least a bit, I won’t be able to track them down so easily… But stalking and assassinating will be difficult in such a place…’ and aningless to ntion that in a realm where the sun was always present, waiting for the dark to fall was aningless.

‘I should have brought one of those clerics along… Those guys seed to have plenty of useful abilities…’ the cleric of silence for one would have been useful, but there had been another undead garbed in similar robes around, which she believed had been referred to as a cleric of dark.

Her mory was feeling clear right now, rembering things in much greater details than she had believed herself capable of.

‘Aah, she wasn’t lying, undeath is great!’ Although difficult, she ended up deciding on the second option, hiding a distance away from the group and waiting for an opportunity to arise, not wanting to have her als disperse and run around like headless chickens.
