759: Operation Arid Soil : Part Seventy 759: Operation Arid Soil : Part Seventy Siccitas.

It was odd, the word had just seed like the right one to say, Ir’Houwl had never heard it before, she had not been told to speak it when the ti felt right, she had simply willed for Ierpalam to be activated, and it had just flowed out alongside it.

Unlike Herlbe, it had seed obvious to her that Ierpalam was not supposed to be a re boost that could be borrowed when in a pinch, it could be used as such, but if that had been Loimos’s intention with it, then he wouldn’t have made it in this manner, the festering death force that was lended upon the one that used this technique was far from a re tool to help you win a losing fight or as a trump card to unfurl to seize a rapid victory.

Festering death was the death force of the pure undead, it was perhaps the thing closest to the true essence of death, so potent that undeads that were not pure like the champion would normally be devoured by it, this gift from Loimos was significant, but until now, although she had been certain that it served a very specific purpose, Ir’Houwl had not unfurled the deeper secret.

Ierpalam was ant to be appropriated by the user, but how that functioned had remained a mystery, until the very mont she managed it, that is.

The festering death had stimulated and awoken sothing, sothing that had always been within Ir’Houwl but that she had never been able to grasp without Ierpalam’s assistance.

The instant she spoke those two words, both Ersta’ras and a large portion of the capital behind were suddenly struck by a most dire sensation of danger, the two livings right before her were the closest and most strongly affected, but they quickly snapped out of it anyways, all the while the rest remained frozen in pure terror, like the reaper had just placed its bony hand upon their shoulders.

Indeed, these two were very strong, they hadn’t even needed to use what they had best to inflict severe damage upon her, if they could get access to the wealth of knowledge, they could most certainly transcend even their current strength too… The practice of vapour was certain to see many undeads amidst its ranks once that realm was conquered.

Ir’Houwl stepped forward, her body and attire had been restored to utter perfection, and with the two livings having also healed themselves up, it was like the battle had been taken back right to the start, though, they now stood in a wide crater caused by the earlier explosion, all under the pale glow of Sanguine Undeviginti.

The two scimitars reappeared in the minor lord’s hands, her hollow sockets brimming with dark red flas, unlike Herlbe, whose ‘Vis’ Ierpalam had granted an incredible physical augntation, Ir’Houwl wasn’t excessively faster or stronger from before, it was a fairly standard all-around boost, ‘Siccitas’ had instead caused sothing else to occur.

Great tendrils of red sand erged from the desert all around, the very air seed to carry grains of it as well, in fact, it was basically raining red sand right now as the undead’s innate ability felt supercharged, so much so that it felt like that if she did not actively use it at all tis, that she might bloat.

The two livings still had their defences up, and thankfully, the sand was not having an easy ti piercing through, but it definitely was much better at doing it, forcing them to heighten their defences to a point where they were consuming quite a lot of vapour at all tis, especially as countless grains were pushed against them.

Khasekhemwy brushed his finger against his lips, finding them completely dry even after running his tongue against them, the two elders had lived in this desert of infernal heat for decades, and yet, under the glow of Sanguine Undeviginti, which was far from being the warst sun around, in fact, only the cool Watchful Undeviginti was colder than it was.

Yet, it was now that we’re feeling like trendous heat was sapping away at them, drying them up and expanding the hydration of their bodies, in fact, the air itself felt odd, it wasn’t that odd, but the effect it had on them was like Pri Undeviginti had brought in more than ten of its decoys.

“Huh… Lady, if you would be so polite as to explain what is going on, we would appreciate it” Khasekhemwy spoke and Ny-Hor just rolled his eye as Ir’Houwl was obviously not going to respond to that.

Red sand all around shaped into crescent slashes and hod in on the livings as the minor lord surged forward, although nothing special, she was still enhanced by Ierpalam, and this forced the two livings to go all-out at all tis lest they wanted to get got by an empowered attack.

If they allowed themselves to be weakened or distracted for even a second, red sand would doubtlessly get past their defences and make the situation even worse.

“Alright, screw it- Ny-Hor, keep her occupied for… One minute?” “One minute?!

You can definitely make it in fifteen seconds, you hack!” The Watchful Ersta’ra ford a spear out of vapour and deflected a few strikes from the undead, keeping himself mobile, not intent on straight-up blocking any blow from her, not confident that even his best augntation could make him strong enough to content right now, and also because he soon realised that her scimitars, with their runes active, were currently channeling the undead’s innate ability.

Anything that entered into contact with the weapons would be assaulted by erosion as though sand was rushing over and eating away.

He also had to deal with powerful red tendrils that erged from anywhere, their strikes quick enough to reach his flesh if he wasn’t careful, he had to stop relying on his defences to deal with the red sand, it was only useful for the stray grains now.

The undead lunged, the living thrusting his spear.

Both feinted and made their weapons disappear at the last second, Ir’Houwl attempting to grab the man, as he punched at her wrists to prevent just that, it worked but the living still recoiled in pain and stumbled back, his knuckles looking like he was scraped them against a stone wall for multiple minutes.

Left open, he was kicked in the stomach, directly to the ground, both scimitars reappearing and falling down in the next instant.

With a grunt, the bandaged elder forced himself away with a pulse of vapour, a deep gash pouring blood upon one of his arms.

‘…Her entire body and equipnt is just abnormal now… It felt like I punched a sandstorm just then… And it drained away at too…’ The draining effect had not been slow and nice either, the old man was seeing double.

Thankfully, Khasekhemwy was ready.
