The assassin, body enshrouded and augnted by the vapours of the solar star that was his master, equipped with a dagger bearing depictions of Watchful Undeviginti, a master of his craft, how had infiltrated countless, camps and bases, assassinated countless, both poor and rich, was seriously reconsidering his life choices right now.
Before him, a type of ghoul was staring at him like he was a piece of at, and much to his horror, she seed to be considering two very different anings to the expression 'piece of at'.
Ending in a pointed shape, a long tongue erged and slid across her upper teeth, at least, upon the first row of upper teeth, making them glisten slightly, their awful, perfect whiteness so great that the assassin could almost see himself in them.
He took in all that information in an instant, then reached for his blade, grasping it with an iron grip, but the distance separating her from him was much too short and the ghoul grabbed his wrist before the dagger could fully leave its scabbard.
Feeling his bones hurting under that tyrannical hold, he couldn't help but curse, pure brawn wasn't his forte as an assassin, but still, he was a servant of Watchful Undeviginti, his strength shouldn't be sothing to be trifled with, but he was being overpowered with ease.
Although not as refined as the one bearing images of tales, the assassin had more options, with a flick of his left wrist, another blade appeared in his hand, which he instantly directed straight at the enemy's face.
'I'll be damned…' he had to admit that such a move wasn't exactly that slick, and even without a hidden knife, striking with his free hand was the first most logical thing alongside going for so kicks.
But he hadn't been expected to be stopped in this endeavour by her tongue, that thing was even longer that he had assud and most viscous as it wrapped around his wrist and forearm, the end of it flicked from side to side as it licked at him.
Naturally, he attempted to knee the ghoul repeatedly seeing that he failed to stab through her face, but his strikes felt awfully weak, sluggish even, like he was trying to strike her whilst subrged in water, a most odd sensation for a dweller of the desert who had seldom seen bodies of water that were any deeper than one's ankles.
'Is it that cloudy spit?!' he felt his hair stand on end, he had thought that she was just a freak, but it turns out that her saliva was a toxin that was infecting him by re skin contact.
'Well… Shit!' with whatever strength he could muster he kicked back at the table behind him, causing the object set to cause a distraction fall alongside so of the utensils upon it, that action might amount to nothing, but the assassins wasn't willing to give up on his objective so easily, with so luck, she hadn't noticed that he had put anything down in the first place, and hopefully, the distraction would work out anyways.
As for the situation he himself was in right now…
The dagger engraved with images upon its sides, still only part way out of its sheath, lit up with pale blue light for an instant, unlike his fellow the knight, the assassin had a few more tricks up his sleeves when it ca to using the weapon granted upon him.
"Sorry lady- But I am not ready to settle down just yet!" before he could lose all strength and collapse like a piece of wet bread on the floor, his entire body was enshrouded by the pale blue vapour, and in the blink of an eye, the assassin disappeared from where he had stood.
"Schucks… This guy looked tasty…" the ghoul was very disappointed that the food that had delivered itself to her had just gone and stood her up like that, but didn't linger on too long upon this loss, calling for the alarm to be sounded as one intruder could an more of them were around.
Then, she walked up to the object that had fallen from his kick aid at the table, although she had only gotten back here at just about the sa ti the living had turned around, it would be foolish to assu that she wouldn't notice any foreign object put down in her kitchen, cuisine was a serious topic, and as such, every tool needed to perfectly arranged and known to the chef, this small cylinder had nothing to do here.
There was nothing magical or inherently special about it, she opened it up and it just a container filled with so sort of warm powder, the mont she opened it, a small spark ca out and nothing else, the fine substance losing its reddish colour and warmth as it was allowed to spread out, seed like the chanism on the bottom was simply ant to pack this powder into sothing more dense, which would cause it to overheat for so reason and presumably, explode or sothing after a while.
"Bleh" this thing was not at all tasty on the tongue…
A distance away, the knight felt the sudden surge of pale blue vapour, which indicated to him that is assassin fellow had run into a problem and used his supre, running away technique to forcefully return himself to Watchful Undeviginti's side, that was certainly a handy ability to have, everyone else would have to remain dispatched until the ti of their ruler passed and they were naturally brought back.
Although quite a cowardly ability to develop, the knight knew that his fellow that did not understand how to properly take care of his blade wouldn't just escape without good reason, so this ant that he had been caught, and whether or not the distraction had been planted or not was a mystery.
'I guess I just have to try and make a run for it…' he thought, focusing on the sword he had been given, it's side were also decorated with images, the very sa as that on his hamr, one side with Pri Undeviginti, and the other with Watchful Undeviginti, although not his weapon of choice, he could still channel the power of the pale blue vapour through it.
Sothing he had not had the occasion of using during his confrontation against the dual-wielding undead and her troops.
The vapour perated his entire body, similarly to the assassin's, it augnted him, but naturally, their qualifications greatly differed, rather than a great boost to his stealth, the knight was granted improved strength and power, which he used to rush out of the tent and sprint through the camp.
With the assassin gone, this would be his last chance.
