"Hum… Loimos?"

"Yes?"

"So what can you still do from your infinite repertoire inside a living's body?" asked the assassin, honestly curious as for now, he had only shown things that could hardly be stripped away, one's control over the intent they gave out was linked to their person and self-restraint after all, and also, he had demonstrated strength and precision, but that was a given since his physical body had moulded itself after his dead soul.

"I saw that you could still manipulate your body and all… And I assu that what you stuffed inside your skull is being decayed?"

"Indeed, I can not freely create rot here, as you could guess from this, if my most core ability is blocked off, then everything else is at least greatly suppressed as well, I will have to rely on this realm's ways of power"

The living mass murderer and undead mass murderer were casually sitting into the middle of a house that had been left to be consud by ti, no one had done as much as open the door to here in years, dust had accumulated everywhere, smalls animals had seized the place for themselves and certain portion were falling prey to ruin.

So of the wood had begun to be consud by decay, an ideal place for those who bathed in death on the daily.

Maliah nodded, looked to the side and then down at the clothes she had stolen.

"We should find ourselves a blacksmith to use their equipnt, if I go just a bit too fast, these flimsy robes will get torn off my body, I wouldn't want the people of this realm to think that I am an exhibitionist… Also their swords are too fragile- Do you think I could steal one of their fancy soul-weapons?"

"That would be difficult, the weapon will either disappear or lose its properties upon the death of its owner, even if I stick their soul into the weapon, that will only last a day at best, it is good enough for to decay it, but not for you to make good usage of it"

"You shoot down all my dreams, huh? Well then… You didn't speak of that sixth, accessory way of power yet… What is it about?" the assassin sighed, honestly feeling like Loimos was sapping all the energy from her body by just being there.

"It is the most interesting and valuable to the empire, I believe" he started, now that was a nice conversational hook, for once "It does not truly have a na of its own, it relies on one's species as a foundation, being a set of specific abilities that could be described as ' incantation-adjacent' as it is typical that its na must be spoken aloud to activate it"

"Its strength lies in the fact that once a specific ability is create, it becos part of the entire species's skill set, the simpler ones will be readily available to even the most untalented from nearly the very beginning, this would an every single soldier and even non-combatants in the case of our empire"

"Wait… Does undead count as a singular species?" wondered Maliah.

"For all intents and purposes, undead species are separated by the type of death they are animated by, we, of the empire, are animated by the most primordial form of death, which would make undeads that are not, sub-species to us" explained Loimos, the assassin not sure how that made sense, but since Loimos said it without any caveat, it was probably a fact.

"Would that an that once I am dead, I could shoot lasers and crap despite my constitution and energy trait?" right now, if Maliah wanted to use sothing other than brute force, then she needed to use special items, her armoury was full of objects and scrolls that contained pre-made stuff, but that was wholly different than just pointing your finger at soone, say sothing that sounded cool and then spread their brain matter all over the walls and ceiling.

"That would have to be tested" Loimos didn't elaborate, and neither did Maliah ask anything further, as they both noticed that the other guard had just gone by the place they were currently in.

"Where the hell is that bastard? He better not have gone to get himself wasted during service again…Goddamn incompetent, can't even give him a basic task…" mumbling sothing under his breath, the guard didn't even bother to look left and right into the alleys, fully expecting his colleague to be ssing around at the bar instead of coming back.

"What did I say to the boss? An alcoholic can't be trusted, he'll be gone and gorging on soul brew the mont we have our back turned!" he kept on speaking to himself, probably feeling the need to say his piece aloud lest he ended rearranging his colleague's facial structure when he found him.

The man sighed.

'At least- At least don't be harassing a woman again!' the guards were already the lowest of the low within the city, all failed warriors that couldn't be trusted to defeat undeads and that were instead relegated to watching gates that would never be under attack and serving as guides to people wanting to enroll, the non-combatants that prepared food and other services were more highly valued than them, so they really could do without a deadweight that was dragging them down on top of all this.

Honestly, he was beginning to debate doing sothing about this guy himself, if the boss wasn't going to send him back from where he ca from, then there would be only one option left…

"Excuse ?" a voice called out to him from behind, startling him a bit, he jolted in place and turned to see the man he had talked to just so ti ago.

"Huh? What are you doing here-? Don't tell he just left without properly showing you the way?" instantly, the bla was put on the other guard.

"He said that there was sothing he needed to do and took off running in this direction" Loimos pointed to the side, toward the very sa alley where he and Maliah had murdered that other man.

"Over there? What's wrong with him? There is nothing this way" without question, the living believed it, his perception of the other guard so poor that even complete strangers with weird looks were more trustworthy.

The second he turned to look more closely, Loimos in the corner of his eyes, he raised an eyebrow.

"Where is your-" his unfinished question was swiftly answered as his gaze landed right on Maliah's face "-Frehndsh" his last word was warped.

Struggling to speak was one of the many issues that arose when your head was twisted the opposite way.
