Chapter 1112: Forr Playmate

Vijudius rushed forward fearlessly, but Litrakq was having none of it.

“I don’t have ti to bother with you, co back another day if you a piece of ” she snapped her fingers and casually turned her back to him, the knight forced to halt as a fool beast leapt from a distance and crashed right in front of him.

…He had never seen this dirt-blood before, and yet, it ca with a re snap of her fingers? Had this thing been following her around and ensuring her safety this entire ti?

The young knight did not know, he jumped backward, evading a crushing blow that left a hand imprint on the ground that was several centiters deep.

This dirt-blood was of a sort he had never seen before, presumably a unique one.

It was easily two and half ter in size, its legs seed to that of a goat and were proportionally far smaller than they should be, its head was that of a wolf-like creature, and its left arm was incredibly oversized, whilst its right arm was utterly atrophied.

The monster howled like a feral beast, and yet, refined fighting spirit surged from its body, focusing it onto its claws before lashing with the left arm, carving deep gashes into the ground and basically letting itself be dragged along with each strike, as though possessed by a rabid spirit.

Vijudius dodged and weaved, striking at the dirt-blood’s wrist, only to leave a shallow cut, but there was good news, that cut was not regenerating, so perseverance could bring it down… The knight simply needed to land enough hits without being struck himself, for that thing could probably snap his bones if he wasn’t ready to focus everything he had into defence.

Though, Litrakq was not done speaking as she slightly turned her head back toward him.

“This- This is what happens when one of my knight-toys is a bad boy” and then, she just stepped out of view behind the giant.

‘What?’ Vijudius looked up at the abomination towering over him, and equipped with this revelation, he noticed a bump upon the creature’s chest… A bump that looked an awful lot like a face.

He did not recognise that person, but he did not need to be horrified, and rightfully repulsed.

‘This… Thing used to be a person?’ Vijudius narrowly avoided another swipe of the creature’s claws, having nearly been sliced into several pieces just now.

True or not, Litrakq had said it precisely to throw him off his ga, and shafully, it had worked for a few monts.

In truth, it did not matter whether the being before him was a dirt-blood or a forr knight, it needed to be put down no matter what, for it was in his way, and if it was truly once a knight, it needed to be put out of its misery.

Channelling his reddish fighting spirit, Vijudius focused intently.

He wasn’t quite used to having to fight with a sword or bow instead of his trusty halberd, but he had been trained with a variety of weapons, so he wasn’t truly out of his depths, it was rely that going from wielding–What he believed to be–The true king of weapons, to a simple longsword and a bow with very few arrows, felt a bit odd.

Likewise, he felt naked without his full set of plate armour, usually, it would be integral to his fighting style, gauge the strength of an oncoming attack, and if possible simply used his armour to block the strike whilst he focused on counterattacking.

Not only was this unlikely to function against his current opponent to begin with, but since he had no armour at all, if he wasn’t careful, he could easily be struck in the back, although his natural physique was greatly enhanced compared to the a regular person, or even the average knight, he was facing monsters whose strength was often superior to a human, it wasn’t out of the question for one to sneak up on him and successfully perform a strike.

With his focus stretched to its limits, Vijudius successfully ducked beneath another swipe, slashing one of the wretched beast’s fingers, it scread in agony, but that did slow it down for long, striking down with a fist overflowing with energy in a rage.

The young knight did not panic, remaining steady even as the ground beneath his feet shook and spider-web cracks spread along its surface, stepping upon the twisted creature’s left arm and scaling onto it.

In response, the pseudo dirt-blood swung its arm upward, launching the knight up into the air, but it must have forgotten what fighting spirit was all about.

Since its main usage was to permanently and temporarily augnt one’s physique, fighting spirit could easily be used to temporarily change certain paraters about oneself, though, certain things were easier to do than other, all knights could montarily increase their explosive strength, but few could do what Vijudius did just now.

Which was to manipulate his mass.

As he was launched upward, he manipulated his mass to drastically increase, gravity pulled him down right back toward the faux dirt-blood, and before it had any chance to react, his sword was stabbed right through its neck, throwing it in a frenzy as it desperately tried to shake the knight off.

But Vijudius held on, and reversing the grip on his word, forcefully twisted it through the beast’s neck, beheading the tarnished knight in one fell swoop, causing both the enemy, and himself, to fall to the ground with loud thuds.

Vijudius rolled against the ground, the wolfish head bouncing over him and coming to halt after striking the so crates, black blood pouring out of the ghastly wound, forming a puddle emitting a most foul odour.

Vijuidius rose up, already walking away to get to Litrakq, only to find out that both she and her bodyguards were on the move.

He would have to fight his way through the ssy battlefield to even get close to her.

Gripping his sword tightly and with his bow sling on his shoulder, he checked if his arrows hadn’t been flung away earlier, and prepared to move- Only to notice movent from the corner of his eye.

For a mont, Vijudius had no idea what he was looking at.

No, that was not it, he understood what he was seeing, it simply did not make sense.

The headless corpse was moving, and it was far removed from a re twitch or last tensing of muscles, it was moving with intent, with its atrophied arm, the foul beast grabbed its own decapitated head, and soon rose from the ground like nothing was wrong.

Its head was glassy, black blood had stopped flowing out, the hair upon its body seed to shrivel and start falling off.

And then, it placed the two stumps created by the fatal wound against one another, but instead of reattaching its head like one might expect, it used that contact to scream.

Screaming directly at Vijudius, a sort of roar infused with fighting spirit, but also sothing else, sothing more powerful, more ancient, for a mont, the young knight felt his body temperature drop as his heartbeat slowed down.

With a burst of his own fighting spirit, he redied the problem before it could aggravate.

‘Is this…?’ the mories implanted by Dimios flared up again as the beast seed to smile with glee.

“Divine… Power… I… Am… Beco… God…”

The young knight furrowed his brows.

“Delusions, you are a walking corpse with a cleaved neck, that is as far removed from godhood as I can imagine”

“You… Are… rely… Unknowing!”

“Let … Educate you!”

The wretched beast moved once more, but this ti, its movents were anything but telegraphed and bestial, it moved with the agility and precision of a true knight, and moreover, it still had the refined fighting spirit to back up those technical skills.

Facing dirt-bloods with access to fighting spirit was already complicated enough… But now, Vijudius had to deal with a genuine knight inhabiting the body of a monster? That was on another level entirely.

Moreover, it had beco an undead, and Vijudius, due to the mories Dimios had forced upon him, knew exactly what this ant, he simply did not know whether the mories were true or made of lies.

But if true… Then he was facing a genuine knight piloting a much more powerful body than he previously did, and also, said body could use its full strength non-stop, for every minuscule action and would never grow tired.

With such a body, it ant the twisted abomination could enhance itself with as much fighting spirit as it possessed, there were basically no limits shackling its potential currently.

“Witness… This is the blessing of… The Pale Lady!”

The undead creature surged forward, its claws cleaving the air where Vijudius had stood less than a second ago, the winds stirred up by the movents were themselves sharp as the knight discovered, a bloody cut appearing upon his arm.

“For goodness’s sake… I don’t know how I am supposed to kill an undead, but I’ll do it, you’ve been corrupted!”

“Blasphemy! I am awakened!”

There was no escaping this confrontation, Vijudius had to fight and win.
