The spectators held their breath at the show on the ground.
Iris was paralyzed in shock, watching an otherworldly horror.
On the red ground, the warrior’s screams turned into a muffled voice, then into a simple sound.
His body rose, arms outstretched towards the sky, and drops of gold beading on his chest. The heat released by rcy was so strong that she perford the miracle of lting the man’s helt on his head.
His chest contracted sharply, the mortal crown let out a few golden tears from the crown onto his chest, and finally, he fell to the ground.
Dead? Struggling? It no longer mattered at this point, and the girl watching his agony was not prepared to give him a quicker death.
She stood still for a mont, watching him until he stopped moving completely, then she took a deep breath and walked solemnly towards her scythe.
The audience was at a loss for words and too sober for too long, rcy retrieved her scythe, she swung it around her and swung through the air, and then, another heat wave spread through the arena, but this tis, more delicious.
Unlike the extre aggressiveness of the previous aura, this one was spicy, exciting, and made the heart beat faster.
The audience, once again intoxicated by this disorder, exploded with joy, showering the newborn goddess.
The munerator ca from the corridor, also applauding the young girl, then stopped in the middle of the arena.
"May this battle please your tastes, King of Giants. Today, the Gods have given us a miraculous spectacle. In the bet between the Naless and this challenger, the winner is the challenger!"
A new round of applause went up for rcy, the latter looking at the palms of her hands then clenching her fist. The munerator extended his hand towards the corridor behind.
"Now, by following the rule, as the winner you can decide the fate of the loser."
Dora stepped forward, greeted by a mixture of cheers and jeers, all converging into chants of death.
"DEAD! DEAD! DEAD!"
With a smug look, the boy walked forward confidently. His gaze traveled over the faces of each people.
The screams of the public, the death threats, all these elents had a surprising scent of déjà vu for Dora, had he ever known anything else? Maybe that was his reality.
He joined rcy and the munerator and observed the young girl with a satisfied expression.
"That was your plan all along, wasn’t it?"
"That could be the summary of this whole story. It’s good to see that these stones won’t go to waste."
rcy nodded with a grimace.
Dora’s smile had the rit of triggering her more than anything. In the end, she was just a pawn in his hand.
The munerator stepped back and the audience remained silent. It was ti for Dora’s punishnt.
"He is yours." The munerator muttered.
The quietness was gradually overtaken by additional death chants coming from the crowd. Dora, with his hands on her hips, playfully taunted the young girl.
"You can ask that but since I won’t die, it would be a waste... or maybe you’ll ask to be a slave? Let’s be serious, that would be too easy."
The lodies of demise proliferated, Dora escalated her enticents for clency. Concealed beneath her playful deanor, Dora’s true intention was to persuade the girl into dispatching her to the domain of the giants.
(I need as many physical stones as possible, but the gladiators are too weak... I just need one night there at least.)
His smile widened, changing his pose to crossing his arms in an attempt to look as annoying as possible.
Nothing could be a real punishnt for him, unless what scared her the most, it was his reasoning.
"Woman? Let’s not wait any longer, choose his fate. What do you want?"
"Yes, crybaby, decide the fate of lil ol’ ."
As if they had heard his mockery, the public death chants multiplied. All Dora had to do was ntion the giants and the trap would be sprung.
"I want him."
The sounds surrounding them gradually decreased until they disappeared into a profound silence. Iris, Lilith, and Morgiana sat in silence, then their jaw gradually dropping.
Dora remained standing with his arms crossed, his mind struggling to comprehend words that were unrelated to his agenda, yet his mouth involuntarily produced a sound.
"...Uh?"
rcy extended her scythe to the side, with an ambiguous smile.
"You heard right. I can choose whatever I want, right? Like those idiots earlier, so I choose... you."
The munerator, holding his chin, also tried to understand her words which seed to go over everyone’s heads, or perhaps no one wanted to believe them.
"Warrior, do you want him to beco your slave? Is that your wish?"
"What?!" Dora flinched on the spot.
The voices were raised again, with everyone expecting a bloodbath, most opinions disagreed with this outco but they would soon realize that it would have been much better than what rcy had in mind.
"Are you being stupid? Do I have to spell that out for you? I’m the winner of a bet, I challenged 10 warriors alone thanks to him and I won. I can choose anything so I took what I want: him!"
She approached, their foreheads gently touching, and her red eyes shining in his yellow’s. However, this ti, there was no trace of hostility in Dora. rcy softly murmured in a barely audible tone.
"And I’m not talking about slave, or pawn, or anything useless. From now on, I take what I want, so I take you."
"...What...do you an by..."
"It’s sothing ya promised when ya did that trial one night, rember that? Yes, ya rember, you said you had your mory back."
"...Of all the things you could ask...Are you stupid? Is this revenge?"
"Maybe."
rcy took a step back and looked at Wrath. She then lowered her weapon, all the while maintaining her smile.
"What? Don’t tell you’re going to break the rules for the second ti?"
Dora followed her gaze and groaned at this pressure. Next to them, the munerator was waiting for his agreent and, in the stands, the public was dying for another cheer. Everything rested on him, with no way out.
"...You could have at least hidden your intentions...did you forget that your friends are here?"
This simple response had the effect of resilience and delighted the young girl. Under normal circumstances, Dora would have refused even if he had to face Wrath afterwards, but the problem lay in this conception: Dora was not Dora, but "a" Dora.
Sigma, Beta, and Alpha, as a combination of Personas naturally good for social life, this Dora didn’t put up a strong resistance and part of him was curious to see if rcy would really have the courage to go through this.
"...it’s just for today, right? If you go too far, soone might really bla you."
rcy’s eyes blinked with satisfaction.
"Too bad, I want to see the full extent of a body that won’t break, those were your words, weren’t they?"
"... What is this ss ?"
The crowd erupted into a collective roar of fury. Throughout the extensive chronicles of this colosseum, this particular day stood out as the most gripping to witness.
The remaining hours of the day unfolded as a grand spectacle, with every gladiator sacrificing their very existence on the crimson soil. As night fell, a small assembly convened in a dim alley adjacent to an inn.
Dora successfully duplicated the native currency and handed over three pouches filled with coins to Iris, Lilith, and Morgiana.
"Use this for tonight’s fee. For tomorrow we continue to follow the plan, if we have to fight, use a bet against , is that clear?"
The three girls nodded hesitantly, exchanging glances and often glancing at Dora and rcy in front of them.
"...so...you’re not staying here too?"
Iris said, covering her mouth with her hand and looking away.
Dora growled with one glance at the smiling girl beside him.
"I’m waiting...for sothing."
"....oh....ok....uh..."
Beside her, Lilith looked at the ground, her hands trembling. She was about to open her mouth when rcy’s voice rang out.
"Let’s hurry up now, let’s get so sleep...we need to sleep quickly if we want to follow your plan, don’t we, Dora?"
"...I was really wrong about you. Let’s get this over with, girls, go to sleep, you...God is watching you."
She laughed openly, a very strange sight for her friends.
With no explanation of what happened, the group left following Dora’s instructions, leaving him and rcy behind.
The three girls entered the inn and rented three rooms.
They didn’t exchange much and soon everyone returned to their beds, except Lilith.
Standing in front of the window, she placed a hand on her head and her mind drifted.
She rembered the image of that warmth on her head and how soothed she felt, but now sothing was different.
This delicious feeling was overshadowed by a piercing pain in her chest, culminating in the image of Dora and rcy left alone.
