Hers wanted to run away, but feeling the space around him locked, he knew it was impossible. Especially after witnessing Themis's death personally. Themis was Gaia's daughter; the goddess should have felt her daughter's death, but even so, the Primordial Goddess of Earth did not manifest.
"Hello, Luke's father." Godwyn said with a smile as he pulled the spear out of Themis's heart. The Titaness's body turned into black dust and vanished with the wind. His smile sent shivers down Hers's spine.
"Godwyn." Hers spoke with a dry, powerless tone. He knew things were truly complicated. The reason for the war between pantheons was alive and had just killed Themis, showing that he had beco a god.
Looking at the boy who had accompanied his own son to the demigod camp, Hers sighed and smiled gently. "Can you let go?" He asked with a gentle and playful tone, but there was a solemnity in his eyes.
If Godwyn could kill Themis, a Near-King God, what was he, a re Lord God, before him?
"You are one of the targets." Godwyn spoke in a calm tone. "You will die, just like Themis."
The smile on Hers's face disappeared. He looked at Godwyn, then at Loki, and finally, Thalia, his half-sister. "Can you ask him to let live?" He asked, looking at his traitorous half-sister.
Thalia looked at Hers, and after a brief internal struggle with her own thoughts, she shook her head, making Hers let out another tired sigh. "I won't stand by and watch you kill ." He said with a calm and solemn tone.
However, just as Hers was about to use his terrifying speed, he felt a pain in his chest and looked down with a confused gaze. Seeing the dagger piercing his heart, a look of disbelief and confusion appeared on his face.
When? How? How was this possible!
Although he wasn't as strong as Themis, he wasn't weak either, especially since speed was his greatest quality. Logically, he should have noticed any attack with his extrely strong reflexes, which could even make ti run slower.
Loki smiled and fiddled with the dagger's hilt, making Hers let out a painful moan as he staggered a few steps back. "You can't always believe what you're seeing." The God of Mischief said with a happy smile.
Hers understood what was happening: everything he was seeing was an illusion from Loki, which confused him. Naturally, he would have noticed that sothing was wrong, but there was no indication that he had been influenced.
"The mont you looked at , you had already fallen for my lies, Patron of Thieves." Loki answered Hers's doubts with an increasingly terrifying smile. He truly loved seeing the expression of confusion and disbelief on the faces of gods and goddesses.
Hers understood and couldn't help but look at Loki with a calm gaze. He found that Loki was truly worthy of being the God of Mischief and Lies.
Feeling his body weak and his energy being drained, Hers knew he would die today. He looked at the three deities before him and asked in a weak tone. "Why?" He wanted to know why he was dying today, the reason for this war.
"A better world, brother." Thalia said in a calm tone, although she felt her words sounded so incredibly hypocritical that they made her stomach churn.
Hers laughed. He looked at Thalia and then at Godwyn, a smile outlining his lips. He didn't mock or say anything.
"It's a good reason." He said, still smiling peacefully. Dying for a better world was not a bad reason at all. Besides, he would enter his uncle's Realm, and eventually, he would reincarnate like all other beings before him.
Feeling his vision blur and the strength in his legs disappear, Hers fell to his knees on the ground as his body collapsed. His eyes were still open, staring at Thalia with a gaze that was still bright and peaceful.
"Luke, forgive , I couldn't save your mother from madness. Even knowing you hate , I still love you... May... I miss you... I miss you so much... I wish I could see you one last ti... Luke... Luk... Lu... L..." With each word spoken, his voice grew weaker, and in the end, there was an almost inaudible murmur.
Jormungandr's venom quickly corroded Hers's divine power, and the more divine energy was corroded, the weaker Hers beca. The brightness in his eyes grew fainter and fainter until, finally, the light went out in his pupil.
Looking at Hers's lifeless body, Godwyn couldn't believe that Hers had died so easily. It was so easy that it felt unreal, but as the Primordial God of Death, he truly saw that Hers had died. He had just killed his friend's father.
Just as Loki was about to cut off Hers's head, the God of Mischief was thrown hundreds of ters away.
Lowering his hand, Godwyn looked at Loki and spoke in a calm tone: "Although Hers is despicable, I will still give him so dignity."
Loki got up and dusted off his clothes while shrugging, apparently not caring about what had just happened. He waved his hand at Godwyn and quickly disappeared from the battlefield. He felt a terrifying gaze on the battlefield. ntally wishing Godwyn good luck, he vanished.
Thalia approached Godwyn and held his hand, squeezing it tightly. Like her, Godwyn was also filled with complex feelings. They were the cause of Luke's father's death; they could imagine what would happen in the future. Nothing less than Luke becoming their enemy.
"Let's go." Godwyn said as he distorted space and pulled Thalia into the portal, leaving Hers's lifeless body behind.
As soon as Godwyn left with Thalia, a red smoke appeared on the battlefield, and Eris, who had watched the entire scene, erged from the red smoke. Her cheeks were flushed with excitent, and she had a disturbing look, to say the least. The personification of Discord seed completely intoxicated; her eyes stared at Godwyn's back with a look full of pure carnal and astral desire.
Seductively sliding her tongue under her red lips, she looked at the battlefield and began to cackle like a madwoman. She had to thank Loki for showing her such a shocking and exciting presentation. Rembering Godwyn, an obsessive and insane look appeared in Eris's eyes.
"Dear mother, it seems I'm in love." Eris murmured to herself with a terrifying smile forming on her lips. Rembering Thalia holding Godwyn's hand, the personification of chaos and discord showed a cold and murderous look.
"You dare touch my Godwyn, you wretched half-blood." She murmured as the entire space around her began to warp into red and black spirals; it seed as if space itself had gone mad and insane.
Biting her nails, Eris felt she was getting crazier and crazier. The idea of Thalia touching Godwyn's body, which belonged to her, made her want to destroy everything and everyone. "I have to kill her; he will understand and love back. Only I am enough for him."
"Yes, he will love after she disappears."
"Love. What a beautiful word."
"I wonder if his hair slls good?"
"He must be adorable while he's sleeping."
"I want him, I want him, I want him, I want him, I want him..."
"I'm going to take lots of pictures of him and put them in my room..."
"What should I do? I want to lock him in my basent..."
"He must like my basent."
"After all, he only needs to be happy..."
"Yes, he will understand."
"Being locked in my basent is the best option."
"Having friends? That doesn't matter; he only needs ."
"Should I kill his friends?"
"He will understand, after all, it's all for our love."
Eris's murmurs echoed on the battlefield in a rather terrifying symphony. The entire space was tinged with red, as if the universe itself were returning to its place of origin, the chaotic void.
If Godwyn had been present, he would have run as fast as possible. If there was one thing he knew, it was that never, under any circumstances, should one sleep with a crazy woman. It was a lesson he learned from the experiences of so friends.
Staying away from crazy won was asking for peace and serenity.
