Chapter 721: A Problem with the Brain

Rushing to the cafeteria, Xiao Yi didn’t even stop to eat, but bought two servings of food, packed them, and then headed back to the classroom where he had his previous class.

"Are you Xiao Yi?"

But just as Xiao Yi’s steps had reached the bottom of the building where he attended his class, a slender figure suddenly appeared before him.

"I am. May I ask who you are?"

Xiao Yi looked at the boy who had appeared before him, his slim fra aided by a pair of thick, bottle-cap glasses suggesting severe near-sightedness. Standing no taller than 1.7 ters, he seed frail and weak, yet there seed to be a great force within him, demanding respect despite his appearance. Xiao Yi’s face was full of bewildernt, he was certain he did not know this person.

"You may not know , but that’s not important. What matters is that I know you."

The boy looked up at Xiao Yi, pride and disdain shining through the thick lenses as he stared him down.

"So what?"

Xiao Yi found the boy’s gaze sowhat absurd, yet amusing. Was this kid looking down on him?

"I am here to challenge you!"

The boy puffed out his chest, seemingly trying to display his power. Unfortunately, his slight build made the gesture rather comical, failing to convey any sense of strength. He seed to realize this and stopped puffing up, instead lifting his eyebrows with an air of arrogance.

"Challenge?"

Xiao Yi was taken aback for a mont, then smiled slightly. "May I ask, fellow student, what exactly are you challenging?"

"I know you are physically strong, having won several first places at the recent school sports eting. But what truly matters in life for a man is the brain, not the limbs. Therefore, I’m challenging your IQ, to be more specific, your scores in the upcoming final exams!"

The boy’s face turned a shade redder, but only montarily before he straightened up confidently to face Xiao Yi.

"Oh? And how do we carry out this challenge?"

A hint of playful sarcasm curled up at the corner of Xiao Yi’s mouth.

"Although we’re not from the sa major, we are from the sa school, and our first-year core courses are exactly the sa. Therefore, our competition is entirely feasible and utterly fair."

The boy, oblivious to Xiao Yi’s mocking smile, proudly declared, "Whoever gets the first rank is the winner!"

"And then what?"

Xiao Yi looked at the boy incredulously, continuing to question him. He just didn’t understand how soone could be so bored as to co up with sothing like this.

"If you lose, it will prove that you are nothing more than a big musclehead with a simple mind!"

The boy stated haughtily.

"Okay, I’m just a big musclehead with a simple mind. Congratulations, fellow student, you’ve won. Now, please excuse , I have things to do."

Xiao Yi felt that this student before him was acting nuts, a classic case of having too much ti on his hands. He had no intention of prolonging this pointless conversation and wasted no more ti, stepping around him to move forward.

"Hey, you... how can you be like this!"

To Xiao Yi’s surprise, the boy once again rushed in front of him, standing in his way with a flushed face and thick neck, pointing at him indignantly.

"Fellow student, I’ve already admitted defeat. What more do you want?"

Xiao Yi looked helplessly at the sticky nuisance. If this person had been soone like Gao Junjie, he would’ve slapped him right away, sending him flying with one strike. But this kid was just a regular student, and more importantly, there was no sense of hatred, malice, or even hostility coming from him, or else Xiao Yi wouldn’t have wasted his words.

"You... you’re a man, how can you just give up like that!"

The boy’s face was beet red, and after struggling for quite a while, he finally managed to utter those words.

"Do I know you?"

Xiao Yi sighed helplessly, looking at the face that had turned almost as red as the neck.

"This... I..."

The boy was startled for a mont, not understanding why Xiao Yi would ask such a question out of the blue. After briefly pausing, he wanted to say how would I know if you recognize , but Xiao Yi already had his answer and had moved on to the next question.

"I don’t know you, do you think there’s sothing wrong with my brain?"

"It should be..."

The boy looked at Xiao Yi uncertainly.

"After I win against you, is there so multimillion-dollar prize?"

"No, but..."

"Then that settles it. Since I don’t know you, and there’s nothing wrong with my brain, what’s the point of betting with you if there’s no multimillion-dollar prize for winning?"

Xiao Yi once again cut off the boy’s words, spoke directly, and then turned and walked forward without looking back, his steps quickening. After a few steps, he turned his head back, "Classmate, although I don’t know who you are, I think there’s sothing wrong here," he gestured to his head, "you’d better see a school counselor about that."

As he said this, Xiao Yi pointed to his own head and then turned and quickly walked away.

He wasn’t just joking around or making a snide remark. He truly believed that the guy had psychological issues and should see a ntal health professional. Would a normal person with a healthy psyche suddenly co out and challenge him to see who could rank first?

Moreover, always talking about being first—what was he, if not insane? It wasn’t just about whether he could beat Xiao Yi; even if he did, does that an he would have the chance to rank first? Xiao Yi truly didn’t think so. Even if Zeng Xiaoxiao wasn’t able to co back for the final exams, the School of Mathematics was full of talent, and it wasn’t certain this guy could take the top spot. Not to ntion Zhao Yuhua, who was certainly no pushover.

"You... you..."

The boy seed to be stunned by Xiao Yi’s barrage of questions, or perhaps he couldn’t react to Xiao Yi’s sudden departure, standing there dumbfounded. It wasn’t until Xiao Yi was quickly moving away that he finally snapped back to reality, thinking about Xiao Yi’s actions, and leapt up from the ground!

This bastard was so shaless, not only refusing his challenge but also daring to say he had a problem in the head!

How could his brain possibly have a problem?

He had long been accepted by the dean as the sole genius directly selected for the integrated bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral program!

After hopping around in agitation for a while, the boy eventually accepted the reality: Xiao Yi had run off, and he had no idea where to. Moreover, he definitely couldn’t catch up with him at his speed.

"This bastard, I’ll make you regret this! Soone like you, lacking backbone, courage, and intelligence, you don’t deserve Yuhua!"

The boy pushed his thick glasses up and lifted his head arrogantly, clenching his fists, "You want to play the turtle, too scared to compete with ? I’ll make you co out! I’ll show you who’s really got a problem!"

After cursing fiercely, the boy lifted his head once more, glanced at the teaching building ahead, and then turned and quickly walked away.

Xiao Yi didn’t take the matter to heart. In his eyes, it was just a minor episodic encounter with a madman, nothing more. After leaving, he headed straight to the classroom.

Back in the classroom, Xiao Yi imdiately noticed Fatty Tang, still engrossed in his book, along with a few other classmates.

This guy seed to be pushing himself hard, his usually huge appetite not making him feel hungry.

Could this be the legendary power of love?

Observing Fatty Tang in front of him, Xiao Yi couldn’t help but wonder internally. He didn’t believe for a second that Fatty Tang was studying out of fear of exams—if not for Li Ling, it was doubtful if he’d bother to study at all. After all, Fatty Tang was pretty wealthy in his own right.

"Alright, Fatty, take a break for now."

Carrying a box of food to Fatty Tang’s desk, Xiao Yi placed it there, then snatched the notebook right out of his hands.

"Ah, boss, this..."

Fatty Tang, feeling the book taken from his hand, turned his head in surprise, ready to get angry. But he had not even opened his mouth when he saw Xiao Yi’s face and heard his voice. The words he was about to say were swallowed back, and his face showed an embarrassed expression.

"Let’s eat first. You never study properly normally, and now you’re trying to cram at the last minute."

Xiao Yi glanced at the notebook, closed it decisively, and pointed to the food on the table.

"Boss... did you buy this?"

Only then did Fatty Tang notice the box of food on the desk, looking surprised and incredulous at Xiao Yi.

"If I didn’t buy it, do you think you did?"

Xiao Yi rolled his eyes.

"Hehe, boss, this... I can’t just take it, but if you insist, I won’t be polite."

Fatty Tang chuckled, claiming to be embarrassed, but his hands deftly grabbed the food box, set it in front of him, and started to prepare.

"Rember, you owe a al."

Xiao Yi lazily glanced at him, too lazy to argue, picked up another box, and began to prepare his own al.

"No problem, haha... With a tily al like this, boss, as long as you’re willing, I’ll feed you for a lifeti..."

"Beat it, save that disgusting flattery for Li Ling. I still have to eat, don’t make sick..."

"Haha..."
