Chapter 554: Just a Clown

Ghosts... ghosts, really saw ghosts...

After quite so ti, Li Ziming finally snapped back to reality with a start, and fiercely stomped on the accelerator, speeding forward as if possessed, with only one thought in his heart—to get as far away from this haunted place as possible, the farther, the better!

Even though the car had sped up and completely left behind that secluded, haunted mountain road and entered the bustling national highway, feeling the presence of people once more, his mind still felt numb.

In this world, there actually were ghosts!

He had always been educated in atheism, and he believed in it profoundly. If soone had told him before today that ghosts existed, he would have never believed it one hundred percent and would have fiercely scolded the person, ridiculing them...

But he had never imagined that he would actually see one today...

Whenever he thought about encountering a ghost, and all the tales of ghost encounters, a wave of fear washed over him...

No, I can’t stay in this haunted place any longer. I have to return to G City imdiately, no matter what. Once I’m back in G City, I will go straight to Peace Temple. I will find Zen Master Zhiwu, no matter the cost, to have him check it out for ...

After quite so ti, Li Ziming finally cald down a bit, a determined flicker in his eyes, and he fiercely stomped on the accelerator. His hands fiercely turned the steering wheel, adjusting the direction, no longer heading towards the center of M City but speeding in the opposite direction towards G City...

Just as Li Ziming aggressively sped away from that stretch of mountain road, the figure he believed to be a ghost ahead suddenly paused as if sensing sothing.

"The person driving just now, why does he seem familiar?"

A thoughtful expression appeared on Xiao Yi’s face.

"Nevermind, let’s not worry about these trivial details for now. From that person’s description, the new haunt they ntioned should be just up ahead. This road seems to be the right one."

After pondering for a mont, Xiao Yi’s gaze returned to the direction ahead. He surveyed his surroundings and showed a thoughtful look, then once again ’floated’ forward.

.......................

The mountain village at night was extrely quiet.

Apart from the mountain wind, no other sounds could be heard. In this house nestled deep in the mountains, one couldn’t even hear a dog bark.

In a black corner inside the pitch-black doorway of the house, on a not-so-comfortable square wooden stool, a man dressed entirely in black clothes, who seed to completely rge with the dark night, was slightly closing his eyes, apparently dozing off.

In such a night in the mountain village, amid the environnt filled with the buzzing of insects, sitting on that simple, hard stool, he seed utterly unfazed by any discomfort, as if perfectly content and peaceful, sleeping very well, seemingly unaware even as the biting mountain wind, carrying a hint of chill, kept sweeping over him ti and again.

Inside the house, n and won occasionally passed by, each showing a trace of awe upon seeing this man. None of them knew how old he was, or what his status was here, but no one dared to provoke this person in front of them. Everyone knew that this man was extrely fearso, although no one had ever seen him take action, no one ever doubted his formidable prowess.

If there was any basis for judgnt, it might be the terrifying look that occasionally crossed his eyes unintentionally.

As ti ticked by, the inside of the house gradually beca calr, and the man’s expression also seed more serene as if he had fallen into deep sleep.

However, just when his expression seed to have sunk into sleep, his eyes suddenly opened wide, gleaming with a sharp brilliance that seed capable of piercing the deep night. His figure, too, seed to transform instantly from a sleeping cat to a fierce lion, exuding a terrifying aura all over.

"Who’s there!"

The man lightly shouted as he transford into a flash of lightning, dashing toward a dark corner ahead, his palm seeming to manifest a tangible Blade Qi as he ferociously chopped down.

"Such a ruthless technique!"

Feeling the Palm Blade chopping towards him, Xiao Yi’s eyes revealed a glint of cold light, and a faint cold smile appeared on his lips. His figure, unimpeded in mid-air, fell straight down, ignoring the ferocious Palm Blade and allowing it to chop onto his body.

"Ah!"

The man in black hadn’t expected his opponent to completely disregard his Palm Blade; a hint of anger appeared in his eyes, becoming even more fierce. The energy he initially exerted at eighty percent suddenly escalated to its full extent!

Bastard, die!

A sinister sneer curled at the corner of the man in black’s mouth.

Although he still couldn’t feel the strength of the young intruder, he had absolute confidence in his own power; even Master Zhao in this house wouldn’t possibly, and wouldn’t dare, to straightforwardly receive his palm strike like this!

However, the mont his palm touched Xiao Yi’s figure, the expression on his face suddenly changed.

The ferocity on his face completely stiffened there, his eyes revealing an incredulous look, widening greatly as he stared fixedly at Xiao Yi, as if trying to see a flower on the sowhat handso but slightly gaunt face.

It was only when that intense, bone-piercing pain once more violently shook his nerves that his eyes finally left Xiao Yi’s face. He let out a piercing cry, his face completely contorted, his high-leaping figure suddenly plumted to the ground.

"He’s just a clown at the Middle Tier of the Bone Tempering Period, yet he dares to be so vicious and unrestrained!"

Accompanied by the sound of the man hitting the ground, Xiao Yi lightly landed on the ground, looking down at the man lying there, a sneer of derision and scorn curled the corners of his mouth.
