Chapter 532: Gods Block, Gods Slay

In an instant, Xiao Yi’s status rose greatly once again in their hearts, going from soone they hoped to connect with to soone best not to be provoked. They all felt that Xiao Yi’s level was no longer within their reach, and those who had thought about prying into his affairs in secret all abandoned the idea. Their looks toward Xiao Yi completely transford into reverence!

"Elder Han, Mr. Qian, stop troubling Xiao Yi. Please, take your seats," soone said.

Xiao Yi couldn’t help but smile wryly once again. He could understand the attitude of Qian Fuchen and Qian Fuyu, but he never expected Elder Han to be so courteous as well.

"Please, take a seat, everyone. Today is my daughter’s birthday, and with so many distinguished guests here, Jianguo is truly honored. I won’t say much else; I’ll first drink this cup as a toast to your health," Chen Jianguo said.

Chen Jianguo had not expected Elder Han and the Qian brothers to not only seem to recognize Xiao Yi but to show him such respect. He was slightly stunned, but having already experienced enough shocks for the day, he quickly beca numb to them. In a mont, he regained his composure and also understood why Elder Han and the Qian brothers had visited, growing even more grateful to Xiao Yi, feeling fortunate he had made that gesture earlier; otherwise, he would have failed to show his appreciation properly.

However, like Xiao Yi, he was not good at expressing his feelings. His profound gratitude was conveyed only through a grateful look in his eyes and a cup of white liquor.

"To the young lady, may you grow ever more beautiful, haha..."

"Wishing niece Xue intelligence and beauty as she grows..."

"......"

Upon hearing Chen Jianguo’s words, everyone finally took the opportunity to stop the formalities and raised their glasses with smiles towards Chen Xue.

After an opening was made, the atmosphere around the banquet table heated up imdiately...

.........

"Old Man Han attended Chen Jianguo’s daughter’s banquet?"

In the study of the Li family old mansion, a room elegantly decorated yet always slightly dim, the current head of the Li family, Li Wenchao, sat in his chair, revealing a frighteningly dark expression as he looked toward the young man before him.

"Yes, the news just ca in. Not only Old Man Han but also the Qian brothers from D City," the young man confird with a somber look.

"Humph, the Qian family? They even went to Chen Jianguo’s place?"

Li Wenchao’s face shifted with shadowy, unpredictable expressions for a mont before he scoffed dismissively, "The Qian family, those idiots, daring to ddle in this affair? Not to ntion they’ve just been severely dealt with by the Zhang family, their vitality greatly damaged, and now they’re practically a Second-rate Family. Even at their peak, they were nothing but a local snake in D City; how dare they think to co to G City to stir up trouble? Ridiculous!"

"Grandfather, the Qian family has always been close with the Han family. I think the Qian family’s visit this ti is probably because of Elder Han. It seems that the Han family is likely preparing to take action against us," the young man said, his tone turning derisive before becoming grave again.

The Qian family might be insignificant, but the Han family was not to be taken lightly, especially when adding the Qian family. If they worked together, they could indeed cause significant trouble for the Li family.

"Have there been any movents from the Zhao or Zeng families?" Li Wenchao asked after calming down, slightly narrowing his eyes and then looking up again at the young man with a contemplative expression.

"I haven’t heard anything yet."

The young man shook his head.

"Hmph, since the Han Family seeks death this ti, let them die," a cold light shot out from the sowhat feminine hawk eyes on the gaunt face of Li Wenchao. "They think just because they rank second, their strength truly surpasses that of the Li Family?"

"They have occupied the second spot for far too long. It’s ti for them to give it up!"

"Grandfather, what do you an?"

The young man’s eyes suddenly lit up.

"Our original plan for Jianguo Group," Li Wenchao declared, his body exuding a powerful aura so strong it seed to physically stir the bamboo curtains nearby, causing them to snap and pop in a series, "was to utterly dominate—destroy gods if gods stand in our way, and slaughter Buddhas if Buddhas block our path!"

............

The shock brought by the incident with the Four Young Evil Masters was like a brief interlude; the atmosphere at the entire birthday banquet quickly beca lively again.

The banquet was not the traditional type, but more akin to a family party. As the alcohol flowed, guests soon began to mingle throughout the hall. Nearly everyone seated there was from the business world, along with a very few political figures. Everyone was quite adept at navigating such events and understood their ultimate purpose.

Indeed, knowing this purpose—and other factors—had motivated them to co; otherwise, like the parents of Gao Junjie, they would have sent their children in their stead, or not bothered coming at all.

Everyone at the banquet searched for the connections and resources they needed, looking for business opportunities.

The only ones not moving about were Xiao Yi and Elder Han, who sat at the main table, and they were savvy enough that no one dared to approach and disturb them.

The hottest topic in the room that evening was undoubtedly the parents of Fatty Tang. This couple previously unnoticed, after receiving a favorable ntion from Elder Han, imdiately beca the target of everyone’s eagerness to socialize. Later on, Chen Jianguo invited them to the main table for a round of drinks. What they discussed was unknown, but everyone saw Xiao Yi, dressed quite modestly, warmly greeting them and standing up to toast with them. Elder Han and the Zhao brothers also drank with them.

As a result, no one dared to treat this couple, previously regarded as country bumpkins, with disrespect anymore. Everyone was exceedingly polite to them, and it wasn’t necessary for Fatty Tang’s parents to say anything themselves; people proactively approached them, inquiring about potential partnerships. Those businessn who knew Fatty Tang’s parents from before were only too eager to forget their earlier intentions to distance themselves and now fawned over them, looking smugly triumphant in front of others.

Elder Han did not stay until the end of the banquet. His purpose in coming today was to et Xiao Yi, express his intentions and deliver his regards; that was enough. He originally planned to leave after half an hour, but after learning that Xiao Yi was the one who cured Qian Fuchen’s illness, his appreciation for Xiao Yi’s abilities and dical skills was deeply shaken once again, enhancing his esteem for Xiao Yi trendously.

This made him even more grateful for his decision to attend.

Such miraculous dical skills were truly divine, far beyond what the modest Li Family could offer. For a person with such superior dical talents, it was worth offending the Zhao Family, not to ntion the Li Family!

Upon hearing that Xiao Yi had cured Qian Fuchen, Han Lu, who had been very familiar with Qian Fuchen before, was so astonished that her eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. It took a while before she regained her composure, her eyes filled with stars of admiration as she looked at Xiao Yi.

Though very appreciative of Xiao Yi and wishing she could chat with him more, after sitting for an hour, Elder Han decided to leave. For one thing, although he had delegated many affairs to the younger generation, he still needed to make major decisions, and his ti was not plentiful. Secondly, after several consecutive drinks, his expression began to show signs of fatigue.

Han Lu, reluctant to see him go, had to support her grandfather and excuse themselves. Before leaving, she warmly invited Xiao Yi to visit the Han Family.

Almost everyone present could see the profound affection in Han Lu’s eyes when she looked at Xiao Yi.

Yet Xiao Yi, the very person involved, seed completely oblivious to the situation. Everyone present tactfully kept silent. However, Chen Jianguo couldn’t help but smile bitterly inwardly, musing that Xiao Yi seed to have incredibly good fortune with the opposite sex. Chen knew Xiao Yi had a girlfriend, whose parents had now beco his chauffeur.

But on this matter, he would not interfere; in his view, it was normal for a young and outstanding individual like Xiao Yi, with such an extraordinary status, to be liked by many girls. Experience was not a bad thing. Even if his daughter Chen Xue liked Xiao Yi, he wouldn’t stop her.

Whatever choice Xiao Yi ended up making, Chen would support him unconditionally.

Elder Han could naturally see his granddaughter’s feelings and recalled the mont she had urged him to co. He sighed inwardly, "A young woman grows up and becos independent."
