"Okay!"
Situ Qingfeng laughed, glanced at the Western restaurant and said, "This place is where we’re at, right? Drinking here just doesn’t cut it, probably all wines and stuff inside. After all, nothing beats the sheer pleasure of our own baijiu!"
"You... After all these years, you haven’t changed one bit! Do you still not drink wine?"
Hearing Situ Qingfeng’s words, Xiao Yi couldn’t help but laugh again. Situ Qingfeng was a quite the nationalist, sothing very few knew, but Xiao Yi was one of those few. Drinking only baijiu and speaking only Mandarin were his bold statents back in the day.
"Nope, that stuff is just not interesting."
Situ Qingfeng laughed, a glint of disdain flashing in his eyes.
"Alright then, today I’ll accompany you to drink so really good liquor!"
Although Xiao Yi didn’t agree with Situ Qingfeng’s extre views, he was more inclusive in his own beliefs. He understood that red wine indeed had so rits. Not to ntion the culture of wine which is essentially about pretense and affectation, and not really aningful!
However, when it cos to the health benefits for the human body, it actually did have its advantages.
But he wouldn’t be foolish enough to try to persuade Situ Qingfeng, that stubborn donkey. Besides, with Situ Qingfeng’s current cultivation power, those spirits wouldn’t harm him. Glancing at the sign of the Western restaurant ahead of them, he decisively chose to switch locations.
"Great!"
Upon hearing the suggestion to change venues, Situ Qingfeng’s eyes imdiately lit up with excitent, and he readily agreed.
The new location wasn’t far from the Western restaurant; it was a nearby Chinese restaurant. Xiao Yi had never been to this one before, but he passed by every day and had so understanding of it.
After entering the restaurant, they found a quiet private room to sit down in. Xiao Yi ordered so snacks to go with the drinks and called for a few bottles of high-proof baijiu. Then he looked at Situ Qingfeng with a smile and said, "You’ve done well, lad, breaking through to the high tier of the Bone Tempering Period so quickly. You must have co across so opportunity."
"Boss, how did you know?"
Caught off guard by Xiao Yi’s words, Situ Qingfeng was montarily stunned. He had been thinking of sharing this great news and surprising Xiao Yi a little later, but to his astonishnt, Xiao Yi had pointed it out right from the start.
He had never shown his strength in front of Xiao Yi, had he?
After asking, Situ Qingfeng realized that his question might have been a bit unclear and quickly added, "Boss, how did you know I broke through to the late period?"
"I know because of my extraordinary foresight, there’s nothing I don’t know, huhuhu."
Xiao Yi watched the surprise on Situ Qingfeng’s face and a smug smile appeared at the corner of his eye. He put on an all-knowing expression.
"Boss, could it be that you’ve broken through to that legendary realm?"
As Situ Qingfeng looked at Xiao Yi’s mysterious expression and the smug look in his eyes, he suddenly thought of sothing. Almost jumping out of his chair with shock, his eyes widened in disbelief as he gazed at Xiao Yi.
This guess was too astonishing for him to comprehend. That realm was incredibly difficult to break through to. His own good fortune had been profound; he had had the strong support of the Situ family, plus so opportunities, and had only recently achieved promotion to high-tier Bone Tempering Period—an amazing feat in itself. The elders of the family had already begun to see him as the hope for the future.
How old is Xiao Yi... If he really made a breakthrough, it would be too exaggerated, too shocking!
He found this guess sowhat hard to believe.
"What do you think?"
Xiao Yi’s face held a smile that was not quite a smile as he looked at Situ Qingfeng, "Do you think I’ve entered the Condensation period?"
Situ Qingfeng nodded emphatically and, as he faced Xiao Yi’s expression, beca even more uncertain, and blurted out anxiously, "Boss, is this really true?"
"What do you think?"
Xiao Yi looked back at Situ Qingfeng and countered, "Do you believe it’s possible for to have entered? You seem to think too highly of . Unlike your Situ family, I don’t have the support of a major clan with extensive resources."
"Then... how did you realize I had made a breakthrough?"
Situ Qingfeng considered Xiao Yi’s deanor and thought to himself that it made sense: Xiao Yi was on his own without the backing of a powerful family, and given his young age, it seed impossible that he could have entered the Condensation period.
Those who have entered the Condensation period in this world are few and far between, each essentially qualified to found their own sect. Each one requires great willpower and an incredible opportunity, and it is usually not until middle age that they have a chance.
To reach the peak of the Bone Tempering Period before thirty is already to be considered a super genius.
Even if Xiao Yi were such a genius, it would be impossible for him to enter the Condensation period at his current age.
However, he soon rembered his previous doubts.
"That’s my secret, hehe."
Xiao Yi looked at Situ Qingfeng’s expression, knowing he had successfully dispelled his earlier speculation, and let out a sigh of relief. At the sa ti, he revealed a mysterious smile and said, "Anyone who passes by , I can tell their rank, unless, of course, their strength is several tiers above mine."
Xiao Yi didn’t completely distrust Situ Qingfeng. In fact, Situ Qingfeng was one of the few friends he felt he could trust. However, his strength was his greatest secret; it was one of the cards he held close for survival.
Moreover, he was painfully aware that the news of soone in their early twenties entering the Condensation period would send shockwaves through the Cultivation World, and this was sothing he absolutely would not allow to happen.
The Cultivation World was vast and mysterious.
A tall tree catches the wind; prominence brings peril. This adage had always held true through the ages!
"Boss, this thod of yours is simply badass!"
Upon hearing what Xiao Yi said, Situ Qingfeng was stunned once again. From Xiao Yi’s deanor, he knew Xiao Yi wasn’t jesting with him and might truly possess a secret technique that could see through another’s cultivation. This was the only explanation for how he knew of his own strength, since only a very few were privy to his advancent to the high tier of the Bone Tempering Period, sothing Xiao Yi couldn’t possibly have known otherwise.
He wasn’t a fool, and in an instant, he realized how terrifying such a secret technique could be.
But he also understood that such techniques were Xiao Yi’s trump card and were not ant to be passed on. Therefore, he didn’t even think to ask to learn it, only admiring in his heart that Xiao Yi possessed such a life-saving skill. (To be continued.
