"Uncle and Auntie, there’s no need to be so formal. Tang Feng was the first friend I made at University Z and also my best friend. I don’t want to see him unhappy. Seeing your family getting along so well, that puts my mind at ease."

Xiao Yi smiled, then glanced at Fatty Tang who was excitedly updating Li Ling on the situation and said with a smile, "Uncle and Auntie, I have sothing else to handle today, so I’ll be leaving first. If there’s anything needed, just have Tang Feng give a call. Please let him know later."

"Classmate Xiao, why the rush? Can’t you stay for dinner before you go?"

Tang’s father and mother didn’t expect Xiao Yi to suddenly bid farewell, and their expressions changed instantly. They quickly said anxiously, "Classmate Xiao, well, we were quite rude just now at the beginning, we’re just...we’ve been roughed up by business over the years, so..."

"Hehe, Uncle and Auntie, you’re thinking too much, it’s really nothing. I truly do have an urgent matter, which is why I had to leave first."

When Xiao Yi heard Tang’s father and mother’s anxious tones, he was slightly taken aback, then his eyes conveyed a relieved expression. Honestly, despite understanding their earlier behavior, he was sowhat unable to accept it, but things were much better now. Seeing the growing anxiety on Tang’s mother’s face, he hurriedly waved his hand to cut them off, his face showing a hint of apology.

After finishing, Xiao Yi smiled at them again and said, "Uncle and Auntie, don’t worry, there will be plenty of tis for us to et in the future. If there’s a chance, I’ll visit you with Tang Feng."

"Good, good, rember to co to our house with Tang Feng when you’re free. The food at school isn’t good. Co ho and have als on weekends; Auntie will personally make you soup!"

When Tang’s mother heard that Xiao Yi wasn’t holding a grudge about earlier and even ntioned visiting them later, she finally relaxed and replied repeatedly.

"Okay, I will definitely have to try Auntie’s cooking!"

Xiao Yi smiled again, then waved his hand and bid them farewell.

As he walked out of the Western restaurant, the smile on Xiao Yi’s face gradually disappeared, and a faint hint of sadness erged in his eyes.

He had left the restaurant partly because he felt that Fatty Tang and his parents, who were rarely together, deserved so space, and he didn’t want to intrude. Additionally, there was sothing else. In that mont, seeing Fatty Tang embracing his parents, he suddenly felt an indescribable negative emotion within his heart.

Most of the ti, Xiao Yi didn’t think about his parents because he had never t them. Besides sharing their blood, he hadn’t received any kindness from them, and to talk about affection or depth of feelings seed sowhat insincere.

But at that mont, when he felt the warmth of Fatty Tang’s family, he truly felt a tinge of sadness, recalling those legendary ’parents’ the word crossed his mind.

I wonder where they are now?

Xiao Yi raised his head, looking up at the deep blue sky above.

Where they are, what does it have to do with , hehe...

Suddenly, Xiao Yi shook his head, dismissing the thought from his mind, and smiled wryly.

I wonder how the old man is doing now?

Suddenly, the face of the old man, sowhat deserving of a punch yet also endearing, floated into Xiao Yi’s mind.

It had been quite a long ti since he had last seen the old man.

"Old man, where are you now?"

He sighed heavily and looked up at the sky once again, a hint of lancholy and longing appearing in the corners of his eyes as he murmured softly.

After a while, Xiao Yi slowly lowered his head, reached into his pocket, and gently touched the seldom-used, worn phone, a hesitant look crossing his face.

"Snap!"

After hesitating for a mont, a determined flash crossed Xiao Yi’s eyes. He quickly took out the phone, pressed a few buttons gently, then held it to his ear. He took a deep breath and tried his best to remain calm as he waited for any sound from the other end of the phone.

"Dial tone..."

With the long dial tone, a look of indescribable excitent flashed across Xiao Yi’s face, and his hand, holding the phone, began to tremble involuntarily.

The old man’s phone was actually on!

After such a long ti, ever since the last ti he had taken a call, almost every call he made was t with the cold, disconnected tone, and it had never gone through!

He had called this ti rely to try his luck, hardly harboring any real hope, yet, unexpectedly, the call connected!

"Eh? Yi, how did you know, kid? I just turned on my phone, and you knew?"

While Xiao Yi was still caught in his indescribable excitent, the voice on the other end, slightly astonished and tinged with a hint of laughter, had already sounded.

Hearing this familiar voice, hearing the most hated nickna ’Yi’, for the first ti, Xiao Yi felt no urge to berate him, no urge to scold him as before. Suddenly, it felt as though sothing was stuck in his throat, and his eyes moistened quickly.

"Hello, you brat? What’s going on? What’s this about? You connected but aren’t speaking? If you don’t speak, old man, I’m hanging up."

Surprised by Xiao Yi’s silence on the other end, the voice couldn’t help but reveal a hint of surprise.

"Old man, I missed you."

Hearing the old man’s surprised voice, Xiao Yi gripped the phone tightly, his voice low.

"Ew...ugh, kid, can’t believe this. Did they turn you into this sappy person in university?"

Hearing Xiao Yi’s words, there was a silence on the other side of the phone. After a while, a retching noise suddenly erupted, and it took a mont before calming down, then he said morosely, "At this rate, you won’t turn into a woman, will you?"

"XX¥¥%...¥......"

Hearing the old man’s words, Xiao Yi’s mind burst with curses.

This old man, with such difficulty had he opened up his heart to express his feelings, and the old man, shocked and appalled, accused him of turning into a woman. It was utterly mood-wrecking and hurtful to his emotions.

Such a naturally beatable guy!
